CJ Auto & Tow

On the morning after our first winter storm my car lost traction and got wedged at an unusual angle part way into my garage. The driveway was still icy and attempting to move the car risked damage to the car itself and the house. AAA referred me to this company. They responded quickly and with a tow truck equipped with 2 winches and many other tools… and a great driver who was expert at how to use the equipment. He was able to get my car out with no damage at all and for a reasonable fee (AAA wouldn’t cover). I was very pleased and would recommend this company to anyone needing this sort of help.

I used this towing company through AAA. They did not need me to wait with the car (a huge plus since it was late at night). The tow truck dropped my car off at the dealership without any issues. When I called the dealership in the morning for service, they had my keys and a brief synopsis of my car troubles. I was very impressed that the tow truck went the extra mile and filled out these forms.
When your car dies, the last thing you want to worry about is the towing part. Great service!

We got a flat in Westford last night and got our spare on… I called to find out if they could repair/​replace our tire because we are touring musicians and have to travel to our next destination today. Someone rudely told me they are open for towing but said «it’s Sunday all garages are closed» & hung up. I do know what day of the week it is, I was just hoping someone would be able to do the job… hanging up in my ear during a stressful situation & without even a little help with a suggestion is an indicator of what we might’ve experienced here… I guess we dodged a bullet… just rude enough to make me Unilocal

Mark from CJ’s was incredibly prompt, polite, and friendly when I popped a tire in Chestnut Hill and needed to get to an auto shop fast. I would definitely recommend this company. Fast and no BS.

I called AAA to get my wrecked car out of Tody’s Service tow-​lot as to avoid further «storage fees» and AAA told me 45 – 60 mins expected wait time.
CJ’s showed up within 15 minutes, Mark the driver waited for Tody’s to move the car out of their back lot, and while waiting for me to get cash at the bank because Tody’s credit card machine was «broken and they’re waiting on the company to come in and put in a whole new system» (yeah right!) — Mark hooked the car up on the flatbed, when I returned with the cash it was all set and ready to go.
Mark delivered the car quickly and was very nice, cautious, courteous, helpful and knowledgable (the car was leaking anti-​freeze and he warned me of pet’s and their affection for this sweet tasting but deadly poisonous liquid and suggested hosing it down as to not leave stains on the driveway and to dilute this poisonous liquid).
I have used several local towing companies in/​around Newton recently and CJ’s is by far the BEST! Highly Recommend CJ’s and Mark!

My car battery died overnight and couldn’t start the vehicle when I went to leave at 5:30am. Tried calling someone else, and they strung me along for almost 2 hours saying finally I’d be helped by 11am. Went back on Unilocal and found these guys. When the man answered I thought I heard children laughing in the background, but he was very professional at such an early hour and gave me an hour window when he’d arrive (I was in Kenmore Square, mind you). He called half an hour later to confirm the address and arrived ten minutes after that, just before 9am. Gave me the jump start and had me on my way in minutes. He charges quite a bit for such a quick service, but given the time of day on a weekend and the promptness of his work I was more than glad to pay. If you don’t have AAA and need automotive assistance in the Boston area, call these guys, you’ll actually get the help you need.

SAVED ME!!! Thank you guys! They towed & fixed my car — My car broke down on the highway, in the rain, late at night. They came right away and towed my car. I had a broken axle, they fixed it that day and I had my car back. They were fair and did not try to up sell me on other work. The final coast including the tow came in under their estimate, and was a great deal compared to what I’d pay at other repair shops. I will defiantly bring my car back for future service!

As a towing company, CJ’s was fine. They responded quickly to our phone call on a Sunday, located us on the side of the highway, and had our car on his truck quickly.
However, if your car has serious engine problems, I would recommend that you have them tow you to a reputable garage. CJ’s replaced our engine with a used engine, and about 2 months later (and only 150 miles later!) the check engine light came on. I took the car to a different garage, and they said the engine had a cracked head gasket
and was leaking oil. The owner of that garage said something didn’t smell right: a newly installed engine (even a used one) should not have a cracked head gasket, and that I should take the car back to CJ’s. The second garage said that if they had done the original work, they would have stood by their work and fixed it.
CJ’s did not. They said that their parts were only under warranty for 60 days (a policy that was not on anything I had received or signed), and this had «unfortunately» been just over 60 days. During this process it was also incredibly difficult to talk to or get a straight answer from anyone at the company.
So in the end, CJ’s installed a faulty engine and would not stand by their work. I would never give them business or recommend them to anyone.

I have used CJ Auto & Tow a few times. I have used them for both towing and auto repair. I cannot say enough great things about them. I have never seen such a fast response from a tow company. I called for a tow the one time and I swear they were there in under ten minutes. Their drivers and their management is also a bit more competent than what I am used to. They actually care about customer service, they are not rude or short ever (as I have noticed a lot of guys in this industry are).
I highly recommend their services… truly a cut above the rest.

Locked my keys in my car last night just as the huge rainstorm was about to hit. The guy on the phone could tell I was upset because none of my family members were helping me with AAA, so assured me people would be there in 25 minutes or so. The guys got there in 10 minutes and opened my car in 30 seconds! It started raining like crazy, they ushered me into my car with my groceries and ran back and forth from my car to theirs in the pouring rain to run my card. It didn’t run a couple times so the poor guy was soaked. But throughout the whole thing the guys were wicked sweet and helped me so quickly. Definitely recommend, towing companies are usually kind of mean :/

Craig is the man!!! My Saab broke down he towed me back to my house and fixed it for me, even though he doesn’t look at Saab much. Def use him great guy

Thanks for saving my day and making it less hectic. Got a flat and needed a rim as well. I called them and Craig came right away. Towed my car and fixed the tire and rim for way less than what others would have charged me. Very nice guy, courteous and professional. Got a lift to work as well and the whole experience was great. Will recommend him to anybody. One of the reviewers pointed out that a bunch of 5 star reviews are filtered. Not sure why but make sure to check them out.

Quality, Efficiency, and Friendliness.
I am a repeat customer of Craig’s and just started using him this summer to fix the brakes on my truck. Craig is as honest as they come and does a great job. I gave him really short notice that my brakes were in trouble and he shopped for the best deal on pads and rotors and got the truck back to me incredibly fast.
This most recent visit while I was having some more stuff checked out for my truck, Craig went as far as driving my truck while I had it in the shop to go and get an inspection sticker because mine had expired. He treats your vehicle like he would his own.
I fully recommend his services and will continue to refer anyone in the metrowest area in need of quality, efficient and friendly mechanic service to Craig at CJ Auto & Tow.

Craig saved my vacation!
Friday night, 6:00pm. We were due to drive off on vacation the next morning, and our Jeep died. One minute it was fine, the next, it wouldn’t start. Thinking it was the battery, we tried jumping it to no avail. Now it was 7:00. I found a garage nearby that would look at it in the morning. I though that was a stroke of luck — until I called CJ Auto to get a tow to the garage.
Oddly, Unilocal showed him being a mile from my house in JP. It wasn’t until I called that I realized he was really in Waltham (what’s up with that, Unilocal?). But he was so friendly and helpful, I thought, well, if he’s willing to drive out here I’ll take it. Now THAT was the stroke of luck!
See, what I thought was going to be just a tow became a rescue. He sent his truck with a spare battery, just in case. When his driver appeared (now it was 8:00, and I was climbing the walls), he checked out the Jeep, determined it was the starter and offered to … wait for it … HAVE IT FIXED THAT NIGHT! Off it went and less than two hours later I got a call to pick it up.
Who the hell fixes a starter at 10pm on a Friday night?! Craig does! And for $ 300 including tow, parts and labor it was a bargain to boot!
Bottom Line:

* Direct, honest, no hard-​sell

This is a number to put in your phone!
But beware, his garage is impossible to find without explicit directions. Forget GPS.

Craig changed the front brakes (rotors and pads) on my Honda.
I would recommend him to anybody — punctual & effective service, great communication.
Also, he charged almost $ 100 less than two other garages I got quotes from.

Craig is responsive AND responsible. I would call craig if i needed a tow or needed onsite car repair. He will make sure the job is done right and at a reasonable cost.

Craig and CJ Auto are amazing! my girlfriend went to work yesterday and when she got there her car over heated and leaked coolant everywhere! CJ picked up the car and towed it to my house within an hour! Today Craig came to my house, diagnosed the car and fixed the waterpump! he’s got great prices and incredible timing!
