I only hit this place at Happy Hour. This place was awesome the first night I came. Came at happy hour with freinds from Mt Sac. We got the tempura hand roll, and some other sushi pieces. Omg it was all so good!!! And the Miso soup, YUMMAY taste i’ll never forget. They brought us Green Tea Ice cream but we were so stuffed. Don’t think this place is open anymore though. I honestly think this location is cursed for sushi places because the 1 here before it was good too and it bit the dust.

Came here for lunch a couple of times, nothing about this place is unique, just your average sushi joint.
Lot of varieties for their lunch menu. I always get the sushi combo.
Servers try to be attentive but due to the crowd it takes time for them to get around and refill our drinks.

I showed up on a Wednesday night just before closing. At first I was put off because they do not serve any alcohol but I was hungry and it was late so I took a chance and I’m glad I did.
I’m not fanatical about food. I can live on cereal and be happy. However, I sometimes crave sushi and sashimi and this place fit my needs well that night. I can honestly say that two people with good appetites were more than satisfied with food, the ambiance, and the service. I do not really care that one has to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom, there’s a certain charm to that. Besides, how often does a customer get to see the kitchen of a restaurant; I think, probably not often enough. The whole place was shiny clean.
I can’t even remember all that I ate but the sea bass was excellent as an appetizer, there was plenty of sashimi on my plate and the three rolls we ordered were pretty tasty to myself and my guest.
We walked away full and happy and I would return there again.

This is funny, as how people actually gave 5 stars to this place.
next time when you go there 5 star reviewers, and 4 star reviewers, ask them to use the bathroom. You will be astonished to see where it is. lol.
This is the worst sushi restaurant I have ever been to.
Their bathroom is inside the kitchen lol! Yeah, next time when ur there, ask them to use the bathroom, you will see the entire kitchen for yourself. So think of this, you have a bathroom that leads straight from your kitchen, and when someone takes a dump or even pee’s and they come out and open the door… all that bacteria goes into the kitchen.
The kitchen was also a mess, it was dirty, but probably because it was busy that night, but still, it was just really dirty…
The Food: I sat at the sushi bar, and technically saw how everything was made, here’s a summary– It was during a busy night, there was 1 sushi chef, I can see he was rushing all the orders. The dirty dishes were everywhere next to him, everything was so unorganized, and guess what, he dropped a piece of fish on the floor! Did he throw it away? No, he did not, he picked it back up and rinsed it for 5 seconds under water. and continued to cut and served it. Uhm, this is not ok, because he is not cooking it, he is serving it raw and water does not kill bacteria, and it wasn’t like whole fish that had skin on. Think about a slab of fish you are cutting to put on top of the sushi, that’s what he dropped onto the floor, and it wasn’t even a big slab either. When i saw that i EEEeeeecked…
The bento box was gross!!! There was so much rice, and so little of everything else.
The sushi did not taste fresh, it was whatever, ironically, the chef says: You know the good thing about our restaurant is that our sushi is always fresh… lol ironic he said that. (Honestly, which sushi restaurant’s fish is not supposed to be fresh?) LOL… What a cliched statement to use.
Donno if they still give you free $ 20 to use gift card for ur bday, but even though it would be my birthday and i get free sushi here, I still wouldn’t eat here lol. That’s how bad this place is.

Well, its NOT 1 star so it’s not horrible… It’s A-​Okay for what it is. I would have given it 3 stars if it’s not so try-​hard to be a sit-​down restaurant. Why not just be what you are and own it!
That been said, Sushi Ka is more of a fast-​food sushi joint. The rolls are not bad, nothing amazing but good enough to fill your stomach. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to come WITHOUT the
coupon or outside of their happy hour specials.
The DO’s — complementary miso soup, rolls, rolls, and more rolls… hand rolls, cut rolls… just rolls, period.
The DON’T — Sashimi (not even the basic ones like salmon), wanna-​be izakaya items like miso cod and other appetizers.
2 people, Miso cod + Salmon Skin Salad + Sushi Ka Roll (large) + salmon sashimi = $ 40ish minus $ 25 gift cert, Total paid = $ 17-​$ 18 Tips and Tax included. Great deal! But I don’t think I want to eat KaKa again…

Another Korean-​owned sushi restaurant.
I went during their «happy hour», $ 2 hand rolls. It’s a pretty small place, dimly– lit. I don’t really like that since I can’t SEE my food; I usually like to devour my food with my eyes first…
Getting to the point: This sushi was really sad. Sashimi was funky, the rolls were numerous to choose from, but basically, they’re all California Rolls, if you read the ingredients. Haven’t tried anything else besides rolls, handroll and sashimi. Probably won’t be coming here anymore.
Prices were cheap, sushi was cheap.

I’m not sure if I’ve become really picky with sushi or what. but this place was a little disappointing after seeing all the good reviews on Unilocal.
The service was great so that’s where the stars really go — servers were friendly and quick.
The food was okay — some hit, some missed. Tried a variety of things and I think the best part of the meal were the cooked foods (crispy scallop, fried mussel.). The salmon and red snapper were slimy, felt over-​handled and tasted old. The eel was yummy but the pieces were pretty thin and eel sauce kind of overtakes everything.
Specialty rolls were very expensive for the quality. Most likely will not be going back.

2.5 for now.
The Service:
It wasn’t busy when we arrived so there was only one girl serving the whole area at the time. She was very nice and paid a lot of attention to us, asking if we needed help with anything every few minutes or to clear some dishes off of our table as soon as possible. This place probably has the most attentive staff around this area, especially since they’re a pretty small business, nothing fancy and professional.
The Food:
We were a party of two and both ordered a bento. The portions were somewhat lacking and the flavours weren’t all that great either. My tonkatsu was rather thin and somewhat dry. Both of our salads came sitting in a pool of icy water, which we both found a bit irking since they weren’t even busy at that time. The sashimi was rather fresh, though, which is a big plus. Regardless, I don’t think I’d ever order the bento again. They seem to be much more focused on their rolls, according to Unilocal.Neither of us had ordered any rolls, however, but we do plan on doing so in the future since they do look very good.
The Décor:
Their theme seems to be red and black (possibly white, too) since these colours take over the entire restaurant. It looks quite trendy overall, with sofa seating lining both sides of the place. I didn’t pay much attention, but there doesn’t seem to be a bar for sushi. If there is, it’s located at the very back of the restaurant, right next to the cash register, and is very, very small (probably seats about 5 people only). I only took a glance in that direction so I’m not quite sure. Either way, you do get to kind of see the sushi chef making sushi.
The Extras:
I couldn’t find any this time around, but there might be something I’m missing.
The Verdict:
We didn’t like the bentos, to be blunt. But since there is so much talk about their rolls, we do plan on going back and ordering many different rolls. Until then, I can only give this short review.

I’ve come to Sushi Ka three times so far and I’ve never been disappointed in their sushi. I don’t know what the other reviewers ordered, but my sushi was always fresh and yummy! And you must try the Seared Tuna… my boyfriend gets a few orders every time we go. Plus it’s on the happy hour menu so that’s even better!
It’s a good place to chill with friends or if you want to watch a game on tv. Customer service is pretty good. Tried to refill our cups 3 times when we didn’t need to. So i’m glad they’re on top of things :]
When I was there with my bf and 2 friends, the sushi chef came by to say hi to us. How awesome! He even offered us free ice cream. Who can say no to the green tea ice cream!
My boyfriend and I will definitely be back in the near future.

It was average tasting rolls but the salmon was chewy and inedible… oh well. I kept chewing and chewing but then it wouldn’t go down. Then I realized, sushi isn’t supposed to be chewed that much.

Sushi Ka is like a McDonalds of sushi
Well, maybe a slower Mcdonalds, and maybe not as cheap, and there is no drive through, and you can’t really get any fries, but it’s really, really like a Mcdonalds except with sushi.
I go here for lunch a lot and I have to say that there is some deals to be had here. A 6 piece crunch roll is less than 5 bucks, which is not that bad, same can be said about their tuna maki. Basically anything on their sushi menu without a picture is pretty well priced… HOWEVER, they say that all of these things can be prepared in less than 5 minutes, but I have yet to have a meal here where they proved that to be true.
What if I was allergic to bee stings, and the only antidote was a crunch roll and I would die if I didn’t get sushi in my belly? Huh? Then what? But seriously, don’t say 5 minutes if you mean 10 minutes.
It’s not a place for fine dining. You won’t see me knocking back the Petrus here talking with my phony British accent savoring the delicate cuts of fish. It’s a place to go where you need to stuff your face relatively quickly without spending too much money. Just like a McDonalds. They should do a supersize me movie, except with Sushi. Pay for my food and I will make this happen people. You could call it Futomaki size me, or something, I’m not very clever with titles. I would eat at Sushi Ka for one month for all my meals if someone paid for it, you could film me too, 24 – 7. There are some parts you wouldn’t want to see, I almost guarantee it, but whatever floats your boat

Better pay with CASH. They took more than what was authorized. Yes, the food is pretty good for the money but I will never go there again.

Sushi Ka — an Interesting name. When I looked in the online Japanese to English dictionary, KA meant so many things, from question mark, to mosquito, to good. So I guess it’s Good Sushi. Good thing they didn’t want it to be Good, Good Sushi because it would be Sushi Ka Ka.
Went here for lunch last week. I was on my way home from a nearby appointment and just decided to stop. I didn’t Unilocal it at all, I get seated in about 10 minutes during a busy Thursday around 1 PM. There were several groups of Mr. SAC kids who were laughing about their classes and their social lives. Is it me or do these kids look really too young to be in college? Several Asian families were there and some professor looking and talking types were there as well. The place was clean with minimal décor and packed with tables and chairs.
The menu was pretty extensive. Lots of variety like most Japanese restaurants with sushi, chicken, beef, and shellfish. But they posted a $ 10 lunch special consisting of chicken teriyaki, It came with miso soup, salad, macaroni salad, and 4 California rolls Within 5 minutes, the soup came out, and in about 5 more minutes, the main entrée with rice came out. It wasn’t the best I’ve had, but overall, I thought it was good, and very filling with the California rolls. The chicken teriyaki was dark meet chicken grilled with a sweet and sour sauce. The salad was crisp and fresh, and I did not even have room for the macaroni salad. The waitress was friendly and jumped graciously from table to table like a grasshopper. Efficient but friendly.
Overall, good value, good service, overall a solid 4 star lunch. .And if you don’t like it, sorry — just don’t give me any Ka Ka.

Sushi Ka is like «Niko Niko Sushi Style,» which means it is not even a REAL Japanese restaurant. It is Korean owned, and it is not traditional. They offer a lot of fancy rolls there. My mom and I ordered 4 different rolls (Monster roll, spicy tuna rainbow roll, yellowtail roll, and killing me softly), and 1 dessert (fried ice cream).
Everything was BAD. Sashimi did not taste fresh at all, and even the rice was terrible. How could a Japanese restaurant have terrible rice? It was a nightmare! I always order sea urchin and fatty yellowtail in any Japanese restaurants, and I ordered the same things in Sushi Ka, but both sea urchin and fatty yellowtail were sold out! Do not tell me it was because they had so many customers. I went there at a Saturday night, and there were only 2 tables!
The dessert was weird, too. I love fried ice cream, and I always order fried ice cream when I am in a Japanese restaurant. But the fried ice cream in Sushi Ka was more like a… ice cream with fried sponge cake.
Also, we waited for more than 30 minutes to get our first roll. The rest of food just came as slowly as they could. There were like 3 sushi chefs there (all of our rolls came from sushi chef), I assumed it should be a little bit faster. Sushi chefs were standing there chatting and laughing! What is wrong with this place?
The waitresses are cute and kind, but somehow they were a little bit annoying. Since we used the
certificate, we had to order more than $ 35. Because it was our first time there, we wanted to wait for our 1^st round food (3 rolls) to come and see how good or bad the food was, so we could decide what to order next. One of the waitresses kept coming telling us that we now only ordered $ 25 food, or $ 30 food. We needed to order MORE! Okay, it was very sweet of her to remind us to order more so we could use the certificate, but it was very annoying that she came every 5 minutes to remind us!
This restaurant is terrible! It is cheap that they offer happy hour for $ 1 sushi. If you only want to have very cheap and terrible food, just go to Sushi Ka.

The salmon and spicy tuna are always a good option. I ordered a bento box once with beef teriyaki and the sea bass. awesomeee!
Sushi Ka is in the plaza across the street from Mt. Sac. so parking might be a bit of a hassle. But other than that, definitely check this place out.

Awesome place. New Sushi restaurant that just opened across from Mt. Sac. The food is delicious and decently priced. Many times I got to sushi restaurants and i hesitate to order a lot because it is so expensive. Compared to most places i would say this place give the most bang for your buck.
I’ve been here 3 – 4 times since it has opened and every time, I feel like it gets a little better. I usually dont order food from the kitchen unless it goes on my rolls, but I tried the Yakitori, and MmM was that delicious. It portion was very generous and it tasted great.
Unfortunately No Alcohol is served here Yet (I Hope). But if there was I would definitely hang out here for some drinks.
Happy Hour– I forget the times but they have a pretty sick happy our deal. One dollar sushi and two dollar appetizers and hand rolls i believe (could be wrong about the appetizers) but for sure the hand rolls. I would call just to double check. But sick happy hour. I could probably do 20 pieces and it would only cost me 20 bucks.
The owner which is the sushi chef said there will be a lot more things coming so i will definitely be checking in here more often.

The menu is quite extensive, took me and my friend at least 15 – 20 minutes to look over. All the specialty rolls looked very delicious, comparable to RA sushi in Chino Hills. maybe better…
Anyway, I’ll go in order of our meal.
Edamame: My friend thought it was perfect, but I thought it could have heated it up a little bit more… good salt portioning though.
Salmon roll: Good starter, two pieces… but I got to examine the sushi during this time. VERY fresh both the rice and the salmon.
Dragon roll: This was a fancy Unagi roll, you don’t really taste avocado though… but other than that it was a little crunchy and mighty delicious… my friends favorite.
BSCR roll: I love scallops, they baked it to perfection. well for the most part. the sauce was good, i believe they used siracha. this was my favorite.
Spicy Tuna Rainbow roll: Wish had more space to finish it all, but it was very pretty (presentation) and it tasted o so delicious.
Extraordinary Fried Ice Cream: My friends FAVORITE part of the meal. Haven’t had this in a while, but I thought it was the right amount, not too much not too little.
Overall the atmosphere is good and service was great!
Used a certificate I bought off of
which I got for a dollar or two, helped me save some money… about 23 – 25 $ My bill although came out to like 47.20 without the discount and 22.20 with… I don’t think I’d go there if I didn’t have the certificate…
NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE GO HERE BECAUSE MOST CAN’T AFFORD IT. THIS IS EXPENSIVE, BUT GOOD.

Sushi Ka is a Japanese sushi restaurant. I’ve been here several times, and I’ve always left really full and satisfied. Great atmosphere with fresh and tasty sushi rolls! Servers are polite and helpful.
I love love love chef’s special rolls especially Jackpot roll.
I’ll definitely be back for trying more!
