Walnut Creek Tan and Spa

I bought a 2-​week package to get a base color before a trip. First of all, the prices are super reasonable! Every time I have been in, the girls at the front desk have been super sweet and helpful. I didn’t feel pressured into buying a more expensive package or lotion, and they always have a huge smile on their faces. They also always have extra pairs of goggles in case you forget yours or don’t own a pair. The only thing I would change is the amount of time I have to get undressed and lotioned up before the bed starts. I’m usually rushing so much to get everything done int he 4 minutes allotted time. Other than that I really like this place and I’m already super tan :)

Love this place ! Super clean beds and spa. Love that they offer 2 towels that are already in each room ! The girls are always super nice and informative when I haven’t tanned in a bit and need help deciding how long to go. And the price for a membership, you can’t beat it for medium and low pressure beds which I like bc I switch on and off from. The best part is these beds get you really tan within a short period of time. Definitely recommend.

I love the girls here. They are all super sweet and friendly and overall super helpful providing help with tanning questions. I’ve been coming here for a couple years and I’ve never had a bad experience. Beds are always clean and I’ve never had to wait longer than five minutes for a bed. I tried Maximum Tanning because of a living social deal and I regret ever leaving wc tan! Never again.
Overall, five stars! And six for the staff!

So I have mixed feelings about this place. I came in like 2 weeks ago just asking about pricing and information about their salon and how everything works, as I have NEVER gone to a tanning salon before. I explained to the girl at the desk I am getting married in 2 months and just want to have a little color and be even. She was super sweet and really nice, and made sure I understood everything, took the time to explain the different beds and which ones she suggests and when I should come in and use them and how often before my wedding to have the perfect color I want. I told her I would be back to buy the, I think 2 week package thing they have, cant remember.
A few days later I called to ask about the 2 week package and the girl on the phone was completely rude! She even made a comment saying i was too lazy to come down to just buy it and she didnt see why if I already talked to someone about it that i had to call and ask again. i hung up and drove down there and wanted to smack her in the face when she said oh i was only being sarcastic.
I cant believe it! I tried coming back the next day to see if the other girl who helped me was there, and she wasnt and i didnt want to stick around. Ive been having a hard time finding a good tanning salon around here. i have never done this before and as if i wasnt already nervous about it, i dont need someone being rude to me.
it was completely ridiculous.

I really enjoy this tanning salon due to the friendly staff and clean tanning beds! There is always easy parking near the tanning salon which is great for me since I am always on the run.

I recently just got a tanning membership here, plus i’m a tanning newbie!
The girls here are very nice and have answered all my crazy questions.
My third time in I was curious on tanning lotions. The girl working (Jacey) told me all about the lotions they carried and beyond. I heard good reviews on the Jwoww bronzer and she was a fan herself. To top it off she offered me her lotion to try out and see how i liked it before i spent the $$!!
I ended up buying the lotion, i’m hooked.
Because of the time they take to answer questions and specific needs, I will definitely be coming back next month!

I have never had any kind of spray tan before so I was reluctant to buy the groupon for an airbrush because I’ve heard horror stories about people turning orange! When I came in the girl who greeted me at the front desk was very polite and friendly. The salon is very clean and well maintained. After I filled out my paperwork one of the airbrush technicians, a petite blonde girl, introduced herself and took me back to the spray tan room. She asked if I had ever had a spray tan before and I told her no. She asked if I was nervous, and I told her yes. She made a great effort to make me feel comfortable. She was very knowledgeable and helped me get ready. She told me what to expect, and talked me through the entire process. She is funny and bubbly and even small talked with me which made me feel very comfortable. You could tell she really enjoys her job, and she does it well. Later that night when I showered I loved how I looked! Not orange at all! No streaks and it looked so natural! The next day the girl even called me to ask me how the airbrush turned out because she knew how nervous I was. I thought that was very professional. My color lasted about 6 days which was within the 5 – 7 day range I was told it would last. I will defiantly be back to get another spray tan at Walnut Creek Tanning!!!

This place was recommended to me by a good friend.
I was going to a wedding and wanted to get some tan. I had never done this before, didn’t know where to start.
The owner, Svetlana, was very knowledgeable and kind. She told me how to get into tanning safely without getting burnt.
I bought a tanning series which is well worth the price! The salon is nice and clean, all the equipment is top notch and well maintained.
Now I’m looking forward to trying there anti-​cellulite treatments!

This review is long overdue! This place if fantastic! It’s clean, it’s cozy, the staff is attentive and friendly! I came here last summer to shape up for my vacation. I had 8 endermology sessions and two infra red treatments. The results were incredible!!! I forgot about cellulite for good 6 months! I took advantage of Mother’s Day deal today to get myself ready for this swimming suit season.

I searched high and low in Concord and Walnut Creek for a good tanning studio when the one I had been a member of for 8 years went out of business. This one was my top pick, (cost and cleanliness) and I now after being there for several years I know I picked the right place. The owner obviously doesn’t just hire anyone to be her staff, as they are always very customer service oriented and helpful in every way. The place is always clean and fresh smelling when you walk in, and the towels are always fragrant and clean. They always ask me if I have eye protection, and I have never been put in the wrong bed. Why someone would Unilocal about that happening to them «once» is beyond me, for heaven’s sake, everyone makes mistakes from time to time!
I have spoken to the owner on several occasions and she is kind and caring. You can tell she values her business. When I am there, I feel like a VIP customer. When I bought a package for my son (who was a student) and he ended up not being able to use it, they passed the package on to me, even though he was charged only the student price. I thought that was really good business! I have nothing but the best to say about this place. 5 stars.

This salon is great! They have the best prices in the area and are always changing their bulbs! I have never had a bad experience with the staff. The girls that work here are so sweet and so informative. They have low, medium and high beds which is rare to find in this area. I’ve been coming here for a couple years now and I will be honest, I have tried other tanning salons but always come back to WCtan!

The owner is one defensive person. She always has a comeback with all the negative review. Why not take it, accept it and learn from it. For all the negative reviews, there’s always a defense. With all her 5 star reviews, not even a simple thank ou that this mediocre spa is getting a 5 star review from consumers.
I posted a review about the Groupon deal and my review is gone. Tsk Tsk. You know for a fact that you are not offering a body wrap, but a heated blanket. I’ve gotten body wraps before.
If the owner does not learn to accept mistakes, this establishment will remain mediocre.

It is a nice friendly place, not super fancy but it does not matter much because it is located close to Fresh’n’Easy supermarket @ Ygnacio Plaza. The girls working there are polite, prices are reasonable. I like it! Plus I always want to support our local businesses in Walnut Creek! I personally tried Body Wraps and I think the deal and the quality were decent.

I came in last Tuesday night and I wanted to try this place out because a friend had recommended it since my last experience at another tanning salon was not good. The other place was dirty and the front desk girls were so unfriendly. I walked in and was quickly greeted by a blonde girl with glasses, a little on the curvy side, I cannot remember her name but she was the most helpful. She was very knowledgable of the different types of beds and how many minutes she recommended for me. She even took me to my tanning room and explained every detail. I will definitely be coming back :] and highly recommend this place to everyone

I really like this place because they have clean beds and also have a bottle of cleaner and towels in the room in case us OCD people want to clean it again. The prices are moderate and they do give discounts for full time college students like myself. I just bought a monthly pass to get tan for my wedding and I will update this once I go more than twice.

I personally have had nothing but good experiences with this place. They have never put me in the wrong bed but maybe I just got lucky with what times I was going there as to what girls were working. Plus they just got new bulbs in the beds. :)
It is a very clean tanning salon and I like how the spray is left right there in the room with some towels. I usually clean it myself before I get in it but it always seems to be up to my standards even before I clean it myself.
The main reason I like this place is that it always has a good selection of lotions and a pretty knowledgeable staff and you can’t beat the prices. The only place that I’ve found were cheaper didn’t have the bonus of a stereo in the bed, or less fans (which makes that 12 minutes that your laying there purely horrible)

The competition for tanning salons in the bay area is crazy. I see all sorts of promos and special deals! The fact is this place does have some great beds and the prices are not bad! The current promotion they have (buy one get two free) sucked me in.
However I have had the worst experiences with the staff on each visit so I will NOT be returning. The staff looked me up and down (I came grubby from the gym…) and then told me I would need to wait while she finished up her conversation with her friend on the phone.

Then once she finally got to me she told me that the time I wanted in the beds would be too much. I understand she was trying to be helpful but I am the customer and I wasn’t asking for an hour or anything just 10 minutes! So she gave me 6 and groaned/​grimaced as I walked away.
I’ll go to Soleil next time, and I’ll tell my friends to avoid this place. I could go anywhere to tan; WHY would I put myself through experiencing these nasty girls again?

I just started tanning here, and have been here only 4 times. So far no complaints! The girls are nice, but mostly seem emotionless. They are helpful, but sometimes come off as they are to busy with their lives or what they are doing to care about you, but hey who hasn’t felt that way when you are working.
The place is always clean! I got a great deal on my start up package, but after reading Charlene’s review, and that I am in bed 2 when I used to be in bed 3, I am going to ask when I go back about being in the right bed and if I am paying for more than what I am getting.
I love that there are stereos in the beds and I can listen to whatever I want.
The girl that signed me up also gave me good information about the tanning lotions and I love the lotion I purchased and it was well worth the price.
Whenever I have been to other tanning salons, I always felt out of place or looked at funny. Here, I have fun, I enjoy my time there, and look forward to going back.

I’ve tried out a few tanning salons in this area, and I always seem to fall back to Walnut Creek Tanning.
The place is standard. waiting room, reception desk with burnt employees, and plenty of beds. The employees are very helpful – they’ll suggest what type of bed and how long to tan for based on what you need. They replace their bulbs often! Which is definitely a plus.
Reasonable pricing, great packages, and good starter promos. The first time you go you get to tan two more times for free. :)

Three stars for having amazing medium pressure beds. They’re big, have a separate facial tanner, and get really, really hot. They also have good student discounts, and are constantly having specials.
Minus two stars for the first two times I came here and parking. The day I signed up, the girl told me to go into the wrong room. I had already undressed, put my lotion on, got in the bed, and noticed the countdown to when the bed starts automatically wasn’t on. I pushed all the buttons on the bed, still to no avail. I got back dressed, talked to the manager, and the bed across the way was on. That was the one I was supposed to be in. They had to stop the bed and reset it, but that took forever. They did apologize.
The second day I came, I was put in a low pressure bed when I paid for medium pressure bed package. I wasn’t sure if I was in a low pressure bed at first until I talked to a friend, who told me the medium pressure beds are only rooms# 3 and 4. I was L I V I D. The price of the low pressure package to the medium pressure package is a good $ 20 and I felt like I was being duped.
The next day I came in, I complained to the girl at the reception desk and she said she would talk to the girl who put me in the wrong type of bed. Whatev, just don’t EVER do that again!
Other than those two complaints, the girls are really nice, the beds are nice, and the store is clean. You get tan really fast from their beds.
