I received a few quotes to prune an oversized tree and decided to go with Timberland Tree Care. Albert was the one I was in contact with. He was friendly and gave me a great quote. The only gripe is the response time. Sometimes it takes a couple of days to get a reply while others reply within 24 hours but overall they still did a good job

We prefer to do business with locally owned family businesses whenever possible. Albert Briseno was an absolute pleasure to work with. He took his time to listen to our concerns and wishes for our job and then followed up after his crew did the work to make sure we were happy with the work. We have two gigantic eucalyptus trees, one near power lines, that needed serious cutting as they were starting to present safety concerns. We still wanted them to look cared for and not hacked when he was finished. Additionally we have a lovely olive tree that was getting out of control and we wanted it lightly trimmed and shaped. His crew came out and did both types of work efficiently and all three trees looked better than we even hoped they could. To top it off, the bid was competitive from the beginning. We were first time customers, but certainly rely on Timberland from now on.

Had Timberland trim two trees on our property in Danville. Alberts team did a great job. Quick, courteous and cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend them.

They came out and removed a tree that had limbs falling down the same day. The men were quick and efficient. It was a two day job, but they took down the taller portions and the most dangerous limbs first. They then came back the next day to remove the remainder of the tree and to clean up all debris. They did a amazing job with a very short turnaround. I highly recommend them. It was truly a pleasure working with Albert.

I have a HUGE oak tree in my back yard in clayton that needed a serious pruning. I found Timberland Tree Care in Home Advisor so I gave Albert a call. He came out the next day to give me an estimate. For what he needed to do I thought it was more than reasonable. He not only did a terrific job on the tree but his crew also picked up a bunch of leaves and broken branches at no additional charge.
I would highly recommend him for anyone in need of a tree service.

Albert and his team are great! We had a huge fallen tree in our backyard that spilled into our neighbor’s yard, and they took care of it quickly and professionally. They arrived on time and the price was reasonable.

Albert Briseno is a genuinely nice and conscientious business owner, although he didn’t always return texts or calls very quickly after his initial in-​person bid. I attributed this to him being busy doing lots of jobs. His crew seemed well trained and efficient at tree removal, however they did damage a half-​inch drip line when removing a volunteer tree. In hindsight, I should have flagged it for them. The 25% off discount that was given to me basically made Timberland competitive with my 3 other bids so my perception is that it won’t matter whether you get the discount or not, you’ll get a competitive bid either way.
What I liked most about Timberland was their equipment all seems very new. Their chipper was brand new, as well as their large stump grinder. Important to know: one of the tree companies who gave me a bid could only chip branches and not larger trunks because their chipper was only 12″. Timberland’s chipper is 18″ or more. They chipped my entire coastal redwood and, with their new machine, I got beautiful mulch!

This company has 3 people to cut my tree. They came this morning around 10AM and finished around 12PM with good cleanup. Other companies told me to have one-​day work and charge at least $ 400 more. I recommend this company for tree cut.

The estimator was on time as were the two courteous men who did the work. I was very pleased with the job, and they cleaned up my property perfectly.

Timberland came and removed a large pine tree that died over the winter. It was a two and a half day job. The crew worked methodically and carefully, bringing down each piece so it wouldn’t hit the house or destroy the backyard. They cleaned up well after each day’s work, putting every limb through the woodchipper before they left for the day. Even the trunk went through the chipper! The crew arrived promptly each day and didn’t waste any time. It was all business. They knew what they were doing. This was not a crew of day laborers or amateurs. The best part? They saved us almost $ 1,000 over bids we got from the «big» guys!

Albert and his crew do a great job. They cut down a huge RR tree for me and ground the stump. That went very well. Albert did take the stump down to below the ground level but when I tried to dig holes in the area for new plants, all I hit was wood. I called Albert. He drove out here right away and he will be doing some more grinding tomorrow. That is SERVICE above and beyond.

Albert and his team trimmed three trees in my front yard and a Crêpe Myrtle in my backyard. They did a great job. His team of four was extremely efficient in trimming and cleaning. I would recommend them for the quality of work and low prices.

Timberland Tree Care did an AMAZING JOB! The beginning of February 2015 the rain came down hard in my area, causing 6 dead birch trees in my front yard, to break and crumble towards the top. The remaining branches on the trees were dangerously close to crumbling on to our neighbors roof and our cars in the driveway. Albert was the first of four companies to respond and came out to look at them that evening. I found his estimate was fair and he scheduled the job for the following morning. He and his crew followed my requests to the letter. Huge Thank You for coming through for us!!! I apologize that it took so long to let you know. I will use their services in the future and HIGHLY recommend them.

Very professional and did their job as expected. We had a few trees that fell down onto our backyard/​part of our house and they removed and cut them down. They also cleaned up nicely after all the rest of the tree debris and leaves that were left behind. They are also not pushy and are very considerate. Thanks!

Albert and his crew were FANTASTIC! As an arborist or perhaps just a tree aficionado … Albert expressed genuine appreciation and thought when it came to my tree concerns. We have what feels like a forest for a backyard and a ginormous Oak that nearly blankets our home. He and his team were efficient, clean, and thoughtful. Given our surroundings, we have officially adopted him as we anticipate we will need his advice on many, many things going forward. Thanks Albert!

I used Timberland tree service and I am not happy with them and their work. I paid the bill and wrote a letter with the bill stating I am not happy with their work with no response from them. They trimmed 5 Cyprus. Trees in the front of my home. I wanted them to be shorter. They didn’t remove the trimmings from inside the trees which is making them lose their shape. I also had them trim, shape, and prune two large pine trees in my back yard but they look like they were hardly touched. I am very disappointed.
Update. They came back and did additional trimming. The cypress look good now. The pine trees in the back still don’t look thinned enough but was told now isn’t a good time of year to prune them.

Albert from Timberland was wonderful. He came over for the estimate the same day I called. His crew showed up on time the next day and trimmed three trees. They were professional and timely and when they left my yard was spotless! Would recommend Timberland to anyone!

Within 30 days of the purchase of my new home, Homesite (A division of Nationwide) Insurance decides to run their first visual inspection audit, even though they had JUST received the results of a very thorough home inspection performed within the last 60 days, as required by the sellers and our mortgage lender. While we were approved the first time, this time they immediately cancelled our insurance due to the tree branches overhanging the roof raining down debris. My wife and I had 6 days to reach compliance.
For ‘insurance compliance’, the giant 200 – 300 foot tall, 30 ft diameter 3 trunk eucalyptus in our backyard, which had obviously been there longer than the house, had to come down, along with a few branches from a nearby Maple tree. The redwood which was being smothered by the euc needed to be crowned to the height of the roof. … That made me sad because I like redwoods. But it’s either them or me and it sure aint going to be me.
Stressed out of mind and pissed like a hungry piranha, I call up every arborist I can find. I looked through the yellow pages, Unilocal,google, and even grocery store circulars. I called JTS tree, Graham Tree, Garcia’s Tree, Ponderosa Tree, and at least 10 other companies willing to do free estimates in the bay. That said, it makes sense that I cannot remember the company I called to eventually find Albert. I think I found him in a transitional period since his company seems very new.
I used online tree removal estimate calculators and researched local laws concerning tree removal. They estimated the job, (in Missouri) to be about $ 5,000. Everyone else had estimates ranging from 9K to the astounding 20K that Ponderosa was literally happy to invoice. Blood suckers. Like I’m going to embrace your enthusiasm for this task, solely because you figure you can charge the max and I’ll take it. Granted my house is downslope, preventing the use of heavy machinery due to access limitations, I just don’t see how one tree can cost 15K to cut down, even if it is a monster.
Albert was very generous and while he did under estimate the initial quote (which 2 other companies did as well as they did not realize how far downslope the tree is), he stuck within the same relative range and let me negotiate the price considering his mistake (which the other 2 companies did not). This, in my opinion, is an extremely honest and honorable action. $ 7,400 from Albert was basically half price compared to the average estimate I received (I literally got 12 estimates and did the math). The second best estimate was $ 9,800.
At the end, I opted to have the wood parts remain on my property to save a few thousand in removal costs. This caused a little contention with the neighbors who believed that the surveyor’s stakes indicating the property line are there just for show. While some of the wood was legitimately on my other neighbor’s property, Albert’s crew spent a full day moving it immediately after I told him. As for the neighbors who wanted to test their boundaries, he actually dealt with them directly! Twice! He made them happy and I’m extremely grateful for that. Great guy, great service, and amazing workers. They took the Euc down over the course of 4 – 5 weeks but had most of the hard stuff done within 2 – 3 days in order for me to get in compliance with with the 6 day time limit my home insurance provided.
My only criticism of him is that he can sometimes be hard to reach, but I think that was because he was in transition between companies when I needed him. As soon as he set up his voicemail, I felt much more comfortable, even though he’s always returned calls within the same day. I also hope he continues to accept credit cards, as I earned A LOT of points with this job. ;-)
The low price saved me from having to take out a loan to get this done, and his quick and skilled workers had all the trees crowned and nothing overhanging the roof within 48 hours. Amazing.
