Third Workplace

Enjoyed my visit! I stayed 3 hours and got a lot done… Used the printer and scanner… Will be back for sure! A couple people were on their phones, it’s not a library, it’s an office space. People are moving and shaking and doing business.

I think this place is pretty poor value for the money– the hourly rate adds up quickly and there isn’t really anything advantageous when you compare it to Starbucks next door — there are tables, people are constantly talking on the phone, etc. avoid.

I really liked working here. The use of a printer, free coffee, and a quiet professional atmosphere were great. The staff were also awesome. They quickly learned my name and my habits and were always willing to answer a question or lend a hand. I came here originally because I was working at the Starbucks next door and it got a little too crazy for me to be productive. One of the best things about a space like this is that you can leave your computer for a minute while you step away to use the restroom or get some fresh air, and you don’t need to worry that someone is going to take all your goodies.
The one draw back is that the space is conducive to echoes. People speaking in normal voices sound very loud which was sometimes disruptive. I tried to be aware of this when I had to take phone calls, but then sometimes the people I was speaking to had to ask me to raise my voice.

I’ve passed by this place about a million times and I’ve always thought it would be a great spot to get quick things done while out and about for work. Well, I finally needed to do a demo for someone who didn’t have an office and couldn’t make it to ours. It was a perfect meeting spot. Right off BART, right off the freeway, and quiet. It’s worth the 6 bucks for a drop in hour since it’s quiet and there is room. I’m never stopping at a coffee shop again to try and get stuff done. I payed 6 bucks for both of us for an hour. $ 12 to do a quick demo? Perfect.
If you don’t want to sit in the open, get an office. I didn’t use one but even those rates are good and if you work from home with kids it’s a great place to go and get a conference call done without being bothered.
I look forward to coming back if I need to get stuff done in an office setting.

I like the atmosphere here. Attended a Unilocal event here. At first, I really wondered what type of people would need to utilize a space like this. I wasn’t sure why anyone would PAY to sit in here, when they could check out a local library or coffee shop for free. But it really makes a difference. Coffee shops are often loud, have spotty WIFI, have minimal outlets for laptops and cell phone chargers. They require you to pay for food/​drink anyways which is in a way, a fee in and of itself. Libraries have limited hours and can be difficult to find a good spot to work in.
But most importantly, I think Third Workplace is a great place for people that work out of their homes to host business meetings, meet with potential clients/​customers/​partners. It’s a great professional venue.
The interior décor itself is really modern. The rooms are named after dogs, playful. The desks are set up so you can still feel like you are in your own workspace and not jammed into a room with a bunch of people. Really nice.

If you’re tired of fighting for space and time at Starbucks, Third Workplace makes it easy to get productive when working remotely. I came here for a private event and was impressed with the set up of open and private workplaces, meeting rooms, high-​speed WiFi, and of course basic kitchen and comfort facilities.
Prices start at $ 6 an hour with no contracts or credit checks. And although I have my own office, I could see walking down here from one of the local hotels for an off-​site meeting or mini-​retreat at a fraction of the cost.

Great place to escape a busy/​loud office, or to gain some focus outside of your house. Starbucks is a few doors down so you can still get your fix, but get a better atmosphere than working in a coffee shop.
They have private conference rooms, work stations, phones, a small kitchen area, and coffee. It is everything you need to conduct busniess in a remote location.

I finally tried Third Workplace and while I must say the location is great and there was ample space to sit with the requisite power source and WiFi connectivity, I was rather disappointed by how uncomfortable the chairs were. It worked perfectly fine for a few hours but I probably would end up needing a massage if I had to put in a full workday at Third Workplace. I don’t know if and whether they get super crowded or not and I frankly have no idea what their business model is… I gotta imagine it’s difficult to make ends meet if you’ve only got some 5 or 6 patrons on a typical Wednesday morning. That said, I’d probably pay a premium to get to sit on an Aeron chair and keep a decent posture.
Certainly I’ll probably come back if I need to get out of the house when my 3 year old gets too rambunctious, but I can’t fathom signing up for one of their payment plans unless they were to address the seat comfort issue.

This was my first time here, and I came to attend a presentation on managing remote workers. Having looked around the facility, I must say that this place is pretty awesome! The place is spacious with modern décor and a light and airy atmosphere. For those who don’t want to work at home, I can see this being a much more comfortable place to work than the standard office environment. There are rooms to hold private presentations or meetings in, areas with couches to lounge in, and a nifty little coffee/​tea bar area. What more can you ask for?

I’ve always been an early-​adopter, and with «Third Workplace» I’ve found a way to satisfy my technology needs while escaping the isolation associated with work-​at-​home monotony.
«Third Workplace» offers free high-​speed WiFi, comfortable surroundings, flexible meeting and work space. They have been able to accommodate my business and training sessions from one-​on-​one to class sizes of 10 at prices that are well below those offered by other conference facilities.
Until recently, parking has been an issue for anyone staying beyond 2-​hours, but that issue is being addressed so that TWP provides an attractive option even for those needing extended work hours.

Third Workplace is somewhat an alternate office space for those who work-​at-​home or telecommute. Its concept is almost similar to let’s say, Starbucks, but without the mass coffee drinkers, baristas yelling out names and orders, or groups of moms with strollers in tow hosting their mommy meetings. At Third Workplace you pay by the hour or a monthly subscription fee to work in their open space facility. There are no contracts or lease agreements to commit to. Once you pay, you have access to their WiFi and office equipment. Check out their website for pricing and information.
Though there are great perks to working from home, sometimes I need an ‘office like’ environment to get work done without having to stare at a dirty dishes in the sink, piles of junk mail on the coffee table, or be tempted to turn on the TV and vege on the couch at two o’clock in the afternoon. To avoid all of this, I worked at Third Workplace for the first time today. I was pleased that Third Workplace offers the basics your typical office would: desks and tables, WiFi, wireless printing and faxing, and coffee, water, and tea. They also have small private offices and meeting rooms that you can rent by the hour with no contract. The environment is relaxed, airy, and immaculate with its shiny light fixtures and rustic tables. The employees and CEO are very helpful and friendly as well.
There was one problem I had while in here: cell phone reception. This could be an issue for me if I have conference calls or have to accept/​make calls on my cell phone. Other than that, everything else was great and I got all my work done without any distractions or WiFi hiccups. Mind you, I was the only one in there today since they just opened this week. Definitely take advantage of three FREE hours they are offering right now and FREE day on June 29^th. Bring your laptop, your own pens and paper, and embrace the freedom of not having to work in a stuffy office!
