This review is for Stefani Martin in Studio 5 of Sola Salons.
I have followed Stefani from her earlier locations — she has been doing my hair for years! She strikes a good balance between what the customer thinks they want and what works well for the customer. She takes the time at the beginning of every appointment to talk with her clients, assess how the cut has been working and what the client is hoping to achieve. I look fabulous leaving the appointment, but Stefani knows I am somewhat lazy when it comes to styling my hair every day. She works with the natural waves/​curls I possess and enhances them so that I can have a wash and wear style that is still chic but allows me to achieve a more glamorous, sleek, look when I want to present a different image. I can’t tell you the number of times I have received compliments for my hair when I have basically done nothing. But that is just me.
If you know what you want, Stefani delivers. If you are not sure, Stefani will help you decide, OR, make a plan to get you where you think you might want to go if it’s radically different from what you are used too, and allow you an out if you change your mind.
Not only is Stefani an amazing stylist, I am proud to count her among my friends. Who needs a bartender?

This review is for Hillary. She was recommended to me by a friend of a friend. I’ve bleached my hair plenty times before, but let’s face it when it comes to bleach you need to go to a professional. My hair was platinum but I had major regrowth and I didn’t want to risk further damage to my hair so I booked an appointment with Hillary. When I first met her she was a great ball of energy and greeted me with a hug. She sat me in her chair and we went straight to the bleaching. Since my natural hair is super black we had to do a second bleaching to get it to that pale yellow so the toner could take it to that really pretty silver color. I highly recommend Hillary if you decide to color your hair whatever color you want. Anything I asked her was always a yes. She’s the sweetest.

This review is for Tammy Read specifically — the salon is broken off into little pods and individual studios. Tammy has been doing my highlights for years, she is quick, efficient and very reasonably priced ($ 110 for partial highlights). I have a ridiculous amount of hair and Tammy is able to do my partial highlights and toner in just under two hours — it takes other people upwards of three hours. The highlights are always perfect too, she’s able to get super close to the hairline and my widows peak which I’m super self conscious of. She doesn’t charge me more because I have thick hair which is so nice, so many other studios I have gone to jack up the price because of the amount of hair I have.
Tammy is a total doll, fun to talk to and so sweet. She listens to how I would like my hair highlighted and always delivers. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for blonde highlights!

This review is for Janice at Salon non fiction, inside Sola Salon building. I had a great appointment with her last week for color and cut blow dry. She really spent the time going over color options and explaining everything in detail. I really appreciated her demeanor and patience while doing my hair. She never made me feel rushed. The color is beautiful, glossy and rich, this has been hard to achieve in the past but she has like 20 years of experience, so I knew she could get it right and she did! I’ve gotten so many compliments as well and the cut is very easy for me to style. Thank you Janice!

EVA at Sola burned my 9 year old granddaughters scalp while straitening her hair, then she proceeded to talk about her hair and herself, and politics! She is highly unprofessional and I think rude, working with the public the first rule of thumb is not to discuss politics and religion… will not be going back to her at all! The salon would be better off without her! If I could have given a negative star I would have…

I attempted to make an appointment with Hairtenders via their online appointment center and sending them messages on instagram and Facebook. It’s been 3 weeks now and still no response. Their communication with potential clients is horrible. Definitely wouldn’t give them any of my business (that is if they ever called) smh

I have followed Stefani for years, and have used her hair services exclusively since I was lucky enough to find her in Walnut Creek at least six years ago.
Her hair expertise nursed me from a bleached-​blonde-​to-​pumpkin-​home-​kit-​fiasco to restoring my natural auburn hair to its original hue, and health. She is knowledgable, and makes understanding exactly what YOU want a priority. That said, for anyone going in for a haircut from ANYONE, you should either have a picture of what you want with you, or be able to describe it accurately. Stephani CAN give you an amazing layered cut, but NO stylist will make you «look like X celebrity,» because darling, you DONT. ;)
Steph can also advise you as to what cut or color will best suit your face, your habits, and your lifestyle. (Example: if you like no-​muss-​no-​fuss wash and out the door, she can give you a cut that will facilitate that lifestyle AND keep you looking fab.)
You’ll also note she knows her dyes. From rehab to whimsy, Stephani will make you gloat every time you catch your reflection.

I actually went with her based on her reviews on here and I have to say she did not disappoint! She really knows what she is doing and she is very friendly! You can tell she puts a lot of effort into making her clients feel special and relaxed and it was a joyous experience! My hair came out amazing, which is incredible because I suck at articulating what I want. Thank you Kimberely!

This review is for Hairtenders. I will say like many others have said it was quite a challenge to get a hold of someone at Hairtenders. Once I finally connected with someone, and made my appointment I was quite pleased with the end results. Monique did a fabulous job on my hair. Their customer service could stand some tweaking, but the stylists are very skilled. 3 stars is based on the difficulty in making an appointment.

I think this was a WONDERFUL place to come and pay a professional to work their magic in a private, high end setting! Had a great experiance yesterday with Kimberly Morris and I will deffinately be back. Even a good pace to bring your little ones if you have to because is station is large and closes off to the others. I loved it, genius concept!
On a different note after reading some of theses other reviews, its a little confusing and I think Unilocal needs to address this. This is not «hair tenders», never even sen or heard of that salon. Sadly a nasty case of mistaken identity!!!

Hair tenders are extremely unprofessional and rude. They don’t reply to emails or return phone calls and when you do get in contact with someone, they have an attitude. Don’t waste your time on them.

If you are disgruntled at rude and inattentive hair stylists, go and visit Stefani Martin, specializing in Juko Japanese hair straightening (hope I spelled this right?!) and Darla Fowler, specializing in Curls. They are located in Studio 18 «CURLZ» and in my opinion they are the BEST stylists in Sola Salons (or anywhere, for that matter!).
Their knowledge and passion for their business and their compassion for their clients are truly unsurpassed. I challenge you to great Hair, go visit Studio 18, CURLZ at Sola Salons. I guarantee you will be happy! ~ Connie E.~

Let me remove my foot from my mouth! THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! It was so hard to find a shop that can do hair RIGHT. Now that I have found them I will be a customer for overhands down this is the best place to get your hair done. Finally I have found a place that truly cares about the client. Monique and Chris are very professional and welcoming and honestly it felt like I was visiting family. I left the shop looking and feeling amazing. forget the rest no need to look any further this place is IT!!!

HORRIBLY UNPROFESSIONAL. WORST SERVICE EVER from HAIR TENDERS! If I could not give a star I would. The way Hair Tenders do business is horrible to say the least, and I have never felt more disrespected as a client anywhere… I had been trying to get in touch with one of the stylists for months (they prefer to schedule hair services and do their business via email, which is rediculous because no one ever gets back to you in a timely matter if at all). So finally it clicked for me to look up the number on the Internet so I could actually speak to someone… Once I called a few weeks ago I spoke with Christina and she was extremely rude from the moment she answered the phone. I called one morning on my way to work at about 9 am. She answered «Hair Tenders!» like she was bothered. So I said I’d like to schedule an appointment. Her response was «okaaaay» as if to say so what. I was immediately taken aback and turned off because I was a potential new client who wanted to do business and she seemed irritated. Then she went on to say she wasn’t at the salon yet and that she would call when she got there… I immediately called my sister who is a loyal client and explained the conversation to her and she said yea I’m sure that was Christina. (She now sees Monique because of Christina’s attitude). By then I decided to not do business with Hair Tenders becuase of the rudeness and the fact that I am a cosmetologist myself, and could do my own hair as I have been doing for years– I just thought I’d treat myself to a service for once.
During the conversation with my sister the salon receptionist returned my call — hours later. She was very nice on the phone so I decided I would forget the earlier phone converstion with Christina and proceed. I explained that I wanted a custom lace wig made and asked for the price and if I needed a closure, because I had not purchased one and really did not plan to. I was told the service was $ 150 (which is a steal) and that I probably didn’t need a closure. So we proceeded to schedule the consultation appointment and the receptionist sent me the link to make the deposit. I then asked her to confirm the price for me and she said $ 250… I should’ve known then that was a red flag after she quoted me $ 150, but I foolishly let that go.
Fast forward two weeks I go to my consultation and bring with me my hair that I purchased for the service (custom lace wig) and the money to pay for the service like I was told. Come to find out Christina says I need a closure (hair piece) to achieve the look that I want. That was very irritating because I was told differently so I said I would just do my own hair at that point. So Christina convinced me to at least let her take my measurements just in case. So I figured what the hell, I want what I want, I’ll let her do it. It was also agreed that she would color the hair for an additional $ 50 and that she would call me in about 2 weeks once it was finished. Before leaving she provided me with a few sellers for the closure and we discussed and agreed that I would just have it sent to the salon so I wouldn’t have to return until the wig was ready.
Meanwhile I kept track of the closure that I had ordered only to see that a delivery was attempted and that the package was now at the post office… Irritation… I call the salon the next day and explain this to the receptionist and the response I got was «OH! That was for you!?? We were here and we didn’t know who Christina (my last name) was so we sent it away»… Really… It did not click in their minds that this was my package that I told Christina the stylist, that I was having sent there. Being irritated that I had to go through all this trouble which I wanted to avoid by sending my package to the salon, I expressed my expectation for a discount to Monique; and she said I had to take it up with Christina because she was the one servicing me, but she was not present and she would give her the message. Understandable. So I had to leave work, figure out what post office it was at and then deliver the package BACK to the salon. Not to mention I had a hard time at the post office since I did not have a pink slip.
Fast forward to Tuesday and Christina leaves me a voicemail saying that «it’s best we don’t do business» and that she would not be doing my hair, also that I could either pick up the hair or give them the address to mail it to me… I’m hella confused because I didn’t get how we got to Christina refusing to service me. I returned her call and asked why she said that and she said because I had an «attitude». Really? So I then went into how unprofessional it has been doing dealing with them and how she had a rude attitude when I first spoke to her. Christina then proceed to literally argue with me and deny that we had ever spoken! I told her I wasn’t going to agrue with her and since she kept going, I hung up the phone. Then she called and left a rude voicemail.

Sabrina Brinley is one of the top stylists I’ve had. Not only does she do an amazing job with color, she nearly saved my hair. She is incredibly professional and honest and has your best interest. She will do what you request if she feels it is safe for your hair. I can fully trust my hair in Sabrina’s hands and can feel comfortable takng my eyes off what she is doing.
Her location is great, a private setting where one does’n’t get caught up in the drama of a large hair salon.
Without a doubt, Sabrina gets 5 stars.

My go-​to girl, Stefani Martin, recently moved from Salon Cartier (which I adored) to Sola Salons and I couldn’t be happier for her. She has a great space that lends itself to intimate conversations and is decorated with elegance and flair. If you want a superb haircut or color, Stefani is a MUST SEE.

This woman is an Angel! Plus she’s a fabulous stylist who always gets it ‘right’! Her little private salon is very cozy and intimate and, well, did I say she’s an Angel,!!! She’s just the very best! YOu will not be disappointed with Kimberly! LOVelovelove her!
