As much as we love our dogs, we don’t always love their behavior, and so Oh for Pet Sakes has a suit of services to give you individualized attention. We specialize in dog walking, behavioral training, and in-​home pet sitting.

We are fully licensed, insured, bonded and a member of Pet Sitters International. Everything we do is out of the comfort of your home, and the best part is, the first consultation is free!

History

Established in 2010.

Oh for Pet Sakes was founded to reach those of us who are tired of worrying about our pets! We would love to help with any crazy thing your dog might be up to. (Think dog psychology and behavior, not just sit and stay.) Our mid-​day walks let you stop worrying about rush hour traffic. (Think about the things you could get done without having to rush home!) And our pet sitting both visits and overnight stays are the perfect solution to bring you peace of mind while so you can relax while you are away.

Marjo has been around animals her entire life. While attending college she began volunteering at a local humane society, and quickly moved into training «unadoptable» dogs as well as fostering both dogs and cats alike.

Martha’s philosophy is that by bridging the communication gap between dogs and their owners she can help form a stronger relationship between man and dog.

Marjo takes care of my English Bulldog, Hannah, every other week. I had some trepidation about dog walkers in the past because I am very protective of my dog. Marjo makes me feel very comfortable in my home and caring for my dog. She sends me pictures of Hannah and keeps a log of how their day goes together. It brings me peace of mind about my dog while I am at work, and I am so grateful. I highly recommend Marjo for your dog care needs!

I used these guys when I went to Hawaii for my two dogs and a foster dog. I hired them to come and walk the dogs and let them go to the bathroom during the day while my room mate was at work.
The foster dog I had was having some trouble with his crate training (was brand new) and was guarding with his toys around my other male, so I left specific instructions not do have toys out around them.
Not only did they not walk the dogs most of the time (my sister said when she came home half of the times the leashes were not touched), but they disregarded my instructions about the foster dog and toys, and the dogs had a little spat. Thank goodness the dog wasn’t malicious, just a jerk, or it could have been much worse.
I would never recommend them to anyone. It was my first time ever hiring someone I didn’t know, and the last. Terrible experience. It ruined my vacation.

We first started using Oh For Pet Sakes in July 2012 and Marjo, Kat, and Angela are wonderful! They’ve done a great job with not only walking our rescue boxer but also socializing her and making her more comfortable with humans and other animals. Though she is still nervous when she meets people for the first time, she warms up to them much more quickly now than when we got her more than a year ago, and I know that OFPS has played a big part in making that happen. Also, since we were first-​time dog owners, OFPS has been very helpful with answering questions we’ve had about training and other dog care issues.

Marjo (and Oh For Pet Sakes) is a fantastic dog walker (and believe me, she was not our first dog walker in the area so I know what else is out there!). Marjo is personable, organized, responsible, and really cares about all of the dogs she walks. We knew our pup Stinson would be in good hands with OFPS.
I love that they walk dogs in a «pack» so the dogs get the socialization aspect, and my pup loved that, too. Marjo was also great about taking photos during their outings and posting them on Facebook, which I enjoyed because I felt like I got a glimpse into my pup’s daily adventures. Plus the dogs really do go on adventures — not just your typical walk down the block. We definitely noticed a decrease in our dog’s energy level after his daily walks with OFPS (which is a good thing, given how hyper he can be!)
Marjo and the OFPS team are extremely trustworthy and responsive. I was very sad when we had to move away from Walnut Creek and say goodbye to Marjo and «the pack,» but I know if we ever move back we’ll be giving OFPS a call. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

I LOVE Oh For Pet Sakes!!! My dog, Annie, also loves them!!! I moved to Pleasant Hill from Southern California and had no idea how to manage having a dog while living in an apartment. I found Oh For Pet Sakes and they saved us!!! Annie couldn’t be happier walking with Marjo or Angela and her doggy buddies. Marjo not only walks Annie, but she helps Annie with her dog walking manners. LOVE IT!!! If you want someone you can trust who will also be responsible and caring with your pet, CALL OH FOR PET SAKES– you won’t be disappointed!!! I can’t say enough GREAT things about Oh For Pet Sakes.

I could not give enough praise for Marjo and «For Pets sake». I had not moved to the Bay area and was looking for a dog walker. I contacted Marjo and never looked back. She was so helpful that when my puppy and I finally moved she was there the first couple of days to introduce herself and we went from there. I have used «For Pets sake» for over a year and a half and it’s been wonderful. The piece of mind knowing you have a trusted person to take care of your dog when you are at work is a gift. Marjo is reliable and loves her furry clients. She has always gone above and beyond that I would have hoped for in a dog walker. I could not recommend her and the service her company provides enough.

Marjo and her staff have been an absolute dream! They genuinely enjoy spending time with our puppies and we feel great knowing our dogs are in good hands.
The daily log tells us what time they arrived and left, how the walk went and if anything unusual happened, like One of the dogs not eating all of their lunch.
They are responsive, friendly, knowledgeable and best of all, they love our pups. We couldn’t be happier with Oh for Pet Sakes!

I love Marjo and her services! We met her almost 2 years ago after another trainer told us our rescue ndog needed to be put down due to behavioral issues. Marjo came in and told us that she was just not socialized and we all needed proper training. Since that visit we have learned how to read our dogs cues, give her proper exercise and socialize her. She once would attack anyone who came into our house, and now we can have guest come in and our dog is off leash and apart of the group. We have used Oh for Pet Sakes for behavioral training, dog walking and house sitting. Marjo is great with all of our animals and has great advice. Our dog is doing great and is doing better than we every hoped for, all due to Marjo’s help!

The service that Oh For Pet Sakes provides is stellar! Marjo and her team go above and beyond what is expected from a dog walker. Marjo has worked on improving our dog’s confidence, walking technique, and reaction to meeting new dogs. She also socializes our dog by bringing other dogs for pack hikes. Our dog is (appropriately) excited when Marjo comes to take him on a walk and we receive informative and entertaining notes each day about how his walk went. Marjo is extremely reliable, flexible, and caring about her furry clients. We highly recommend Oh for Pet Sakes!

Oh for Pet Sakes has made going out of town stress free for us! We have 2 poodle mixes who are not friendly with new people, but Marjo & Kat were able to win them over using tons of patience. Our first visit out of town, our dogs decided to hide behind things and made it very difficult for Kat to walk them. She went over and beyond, and stayed with them for multiple hours each day, so that they would become comfortable with her. Kat sends us texts and pictures with daily updates when we are out of town.

Marjo is very knowledgeable when it comes to pets and their needs. She helped educate us on what kind of a dog we should get based on the pets needs. She is much more than a pet sitter or dog walker, she helps you with your pet’s behavioral issues. Her knowledge on behavioral issues with animals is impressive. I highly recommend her services.

I couldn’t be happier with Marjo as our dog walker. She is very flexible with my family’s schedule and is constantly checking in with us — even sending us the occasional picture from her walks with our dog Dash!
I absolutely LOVE coming home to find her daily logs, she signs in and out, giving us great comfort knowing what was going on at our place while we were away. Dash is always so happy after his time with Marjo and his other doggie friends — that’s the best part. :)
I can’t describe how great it feels knowing Dash is so well taken care of during the day and that he is getting the love and care he deserves while «Mom and Dad» are gone all day at work.

Marjo is amazing! My dog Logan loves her. When she walks him, not only does he get out during the day while I am at work, he gets to socialize with other dogs. She also has helped me train him on the lead with as simple as giving me a new leash, so no more pulling or squirrel chases. In a very short time, she has helped me train him and I feel so relived when I get home after he has been walked and he is a happy camper. Marjo truly cares about your dog and understands how your pet is more like your child. I would recommend her to anyone who loves their dog as much as I do.

Marjo has been the best dog walker I’ve ever had! My 1.5 year old pug/​terrier mix loves going on hikes with her and comes home totally exhausted everytime. I get funny pictures and stories about his interactions with other animals (dogs, cats) all the time… very entertaining! Marjo makes me feel better about leaving my dog at home all day while I work. I know that my pup is having fun even while I’m away :) I HIGHLY recommend her to everyone.
Marjo also has a background in pet training and always has helpful suggestions for me and the pup. She offers a variety of services which is GREAT. She’s come through for me in many last minute situations and I am forever grateful. Thanks, Oh for Pet Sakes!
