Our Clients include private individuals, businesses and municipalities of many types, with a wide array of projects. We are proud to state that many of our Clients have trusted us to serve them on several repeat engagements.

All reports are detailed yet easy to read and understand, and are available within a few hours after completion of the site work, and prior to the close of the due diligence period. The end result provides Clients with written documentation of material defects in the building systems and components that are safety hazards, not functioning properly, or are at the end of the service life.

friendly building inspections fbi, continues to provide professional inspections and reports to a variety of Clients, including several that have retained our services on repeat engagements. Our business premise is to observe the existing condition, and report with clarity, not just go through the motions.

We started inspecting municipal and governmental heavy construction for civil engineering companies in 1974. We opened this company and initiated residential, commercial and industrial inspections in 1992, and included municipal inspections in 1995, and Property Condition Assessments in 2000. fbi has been recognized as a leader within an association of over 1,000 inspectors throughout California.

We follow the current Standards of Practice for Residential, Commercial and Industrial inspections and reports. Currently we are involved in acquiring additional certifications for new and existing buildings to provide excellent customer service for you in the future.

James A. (Jim) Koeppel

Jim Koeppel is the Owner of friendly building inspections, a professional building inspection firm in Contra Costa County, California, certified and operating since 1992. He specializes in residential, commercial and industrial property inspections, evaluations, and reports. Jim spent over twenty years as project inspector, staff engineer and project manager on municipal and governmental construction projects for worldwide consulting engineering firms. He continues to be a leader at the various associations responsible for training and testing professional real estate inspectors. Jim has served as an officer and committee member at the Chapter and State levels of California Real Estate Inspection Association, (CREIA).
