Dr White and his staff are excellent. He provided me with options and lets me decide what work i would like to have done. He shows compassion for people like myself who dont tolerate pain well. I owe my smile to him hands down they are the best in Walnut Creek.

Dr White is wonderful and so is his staff. My review has been overdue but the last two years I had quite a lot of pain and work done by Dr. White. First time I met Dr. White, I was in an emergency on a Sunday! He actually left the function he was at (sorry Mrs. White) to help me. How many Dentists would do this? It was complicated but he made me comfortable and tried «out of the box» thinking to save my teeth (more than one tooth had problems). What is additionally impressive is he stands by his work. My molar save/​fix didn’t last (He warned me it might not), but he has offered me solutions for the fix. I also feel he is very honest. I now have insurance and I am bummed I have to leave Dr White for a bit, but I may come back just for his advice. (I don’t trust some of the places that accept HMO).

I have been a patient here for about 10 years. Dr. White and his staff have been wonderful for me and my teeth. They don’t want me to do unnecessary procedures but have kept my extensive dental work healthy and safe. The hygenist Stephanie is great and the reception staff is a pleasure to make appointments with. I don’t even live in the area anymore but I visit California frequently enough to make appointments when I go down. I don’t think I could find another dentist I like as much!

I recently relocated to Walnut Creek and was in need of a good dentist close to my home. After reading the Unilocal reviews, I decided on seeing Dr. White. He is absolutely amazing, and his staff are right up there with him. I didn’t even have my insurance card, and they did a bunch of research for me to find my policy number. The dental hygienist who assisted me was so kind and made sure I was comfortable, she was even mindful of my sensitive teeth and gums. I have a night guard that was previously fitted improperly, and as such, I haven’t used it; hence my sensitive teeth. Dr. White suggested that I bring it in for him to look at. Since they’re relatively pricey and rarely covered through insurance, he is going to see if it’s something he can fix to avoid the additional cost of a new guard. Absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much, Dr. White & staff.

Dr, White and his entire staff make going to the dentist a stress free positive experience. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been going to this office for over 50 years. That is quite a record for good service and excellent dental care. I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. Dr. White keeps up with the latest in technique and equipment without gouging the patient. He also never trys to sell the patient unnessesary procedures. He’s the best!

If there were 10 stars, we would give them to Dr. White! He is amazing… so kind, gentle, and such a great «chair side» manner. Myself and both of my teenagers have been going to Dr. White for a couple of years. We will never go to anyone else!

I happily drive from El Sobrante to Walnut Creek because of Dr. White and the amazing staff at this dental practice. Stephanie is my hygienist and I would recommend her without hesitation. I love Stephanie!!! If you are looking for a dental practice with a highly professional staff and a warm and welcoming environment, this is the place. As others have said, you’ll be attended to if you have a dental emergency (Dr. White came in on his day off when I had an old crown come off). You’ll be greeted warmly. You’ll never be upsold on treatments. How many people can say that they love their dentist’s office? I can!

I grew up going to the dentist twice a year, every year, and I know from dentists! This place is really great. Spotless, and I mean clean as a whistle. You will never be made to wait past your appointment time. Excellent dental hygienists. State of the art technology. You will never experience an «upsell» or feel like you’re being pushed to have a service you don’t need. Just excellent overall. Five stars!

I have been Dr. White’s patient since I was 32 years old, and he was a few years younger, lol. He was a gentleman and a scholar, and always told me what he was doing and why. I consider him a friend. I would recommend him to anyone.

Amazing dentists Dr. White and Dr. Annoni both care about what they are doing and there patients. I travel 1.5 hours each way to see them.

As a patient of Dr. White (and previously Dr. Burley’s) practice since I was a teenager, I believe this is the best team of dentists in the S. F. Bay Area. Honestly, going in for dental work is, for me, like a spa-​day. Not only does the office have the most wonderful team of skilled, warm, good-​natured staff — but, their facility is cutting-​edge, off-​the-​charts, amazing! Dr. White is like a symphony conductor and his skill-​set is God-​like — so adept, precise & pain-​free. Always. Just the other day, I had an aged cap replaced on a tooth. Normally, creating a custom-​fitted cap would require at least 2 appointments for creating a wax-​cast mold, then a temporary cap and finally, 3 weeks later, a newly minted cap created in a distant satellite lab. In Annoni/​White Dentistry and with the use of a remarkable machine called CEREC, a specialized computer with digital camera capabilities, captures my tooth’s image which the doctor is able to modify before sending the image to a companion machine down the hall which then takes a cube of porcelain and chisels & chips away until an exact replica of my tooth (with bite ridges and all, much like a topographical map) is created. The newly minted cap is fitted on my tooth, further modified, if necessary, by the doctor & is ready for its final annealing in a kiln-​like machine. This entire process takes only 17 minutes — from start to finish! The time saved (to say nothing of the tenuous days with a temporary) is enormous & the exacting specificity of the new cap’s design-​to-​fit is … like mother-​nature herself. It is like being back in the womb when the tiny, teeth buds first made the scene — so perfect is the replacement cap with all its nooks, crannies and crevices, specific to my past tooth & my overall ‘bite’ — I am always ‘wow-​ed’ in this office. And best of all, going to the dentist is just like a sweet family reunion — since these folks have been a very positive constant in my life for the past 30+ years. Kudos and my thanks to their entire team for their sincere & skilled effort on behalf of our collective dental health.

Brand new to the area, I was referred to Dr. White by my sister. She picked up her phone and dialed as I held my hand to my swollen, pulsating, pain riddled jaw. I was going down to my knees after suffering through the night.
Within moments the empathetic voice on the other end instructed me to be there in 20 minutes. Within 30 minutes I was in Dr. White’s chair. x-​rayed; within 10 additional minutes Dr. White and his competent assistant Patty had me prepped and ready perform the root canal to address the abscess forming in my jaw. An hour later I was home in bed ready for sleep that I had missed from the former evening. AHhhh!
I was impressed and humbled by the kindness and knowledgeable skill the Doctor, Patty, and of the entire office team. From what I saw and mostly heard they treat everyone the same.
They renew my faith in humanity.
It is not about selling oral cosmetics and running patients in and out the door. Unfortunately, I witnessed my former dentist’s office morph into that new type of dentistry.
Wonderful to experience experts who remember why and have not forgotten why they went into the profession in the first place.

Dr. White and Dr. Annoni’s office is by far the BEST dental practice in the Bay Area.
They are not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but extremely ethical and personable as well. My first Bay Area dentist (in 1988) told me I needed to immediately have my old (childhood) fillings replaced before they fell out or cracked my teeth.
I switched to Dr. White’s office shortly thereafter (when he was partnered with Dr. Burley) and he told me it was not an immediate need, and we would keep an eye on them — I still have most of those original fillings :). Dr. White also gave good, conservative advice on the need/​choice of braces for both my kids — with his help, we avoided the common «two rounds» of braces and both their teeth look great!
As Dr. White moved to part-​time, I have also been looked after by Dr. Annoni. I love this office’s conservative approach — and informed, thoughtful advice. They have NEVER tried to upsell us on anything, and have been helpful with those times where insurance didn’t cover everything and payments needed to be made. I have referred both dentists countless times and never has anyone been disappointed.
The dental hygienists are also friendly, competent and skilled who take great care in making the cleaning process as comfortable as possible. My kids have grown up with this office, and even though they’ve moved away, still want to come here for their dental care.
I would give them 10 stars if I could!

Dr. White is wonderful. His staff is great too. I have been seeing him a long time and he is always friendly and gentle. The root canal he did years ago was the easiest one I had done.
I called his office for an emergency this week and they had me in to see Dr. White within 90 minutes. Dr. White spent a lot of time with me explaining what was happening and what I could do to lessen the issue.
Dr. White is a fantastic dentist and I have referred many friend to him that love him as well.

Dr White and his partner Dr Annoni are the absolute BEST in the business. I travel quite extensively and I will travel home to go to Dr. White, my primary, rather than have to suffer at the hands of a lesser Dentist.
My extended Family who live in the area, ALL go to this Dental Office. They are ethical, friendly, compassionate, professional and best of all as painless as they can be.
I would not hesitate to recommend them to ANYONE looking for a new dentist.

Dr White is very good. The whole family has been going since 1998. He is very professional and an expert at what he does. His very good staff there is great.

Dr. White is absolutely the best dentist I have ever had. I have been seeing him since I was 7 years old and am very picky about my mouth. I have a bilateral cleft palette, have had 5 surgeries (excluding oral surgeries), a total of 17 teeth pulled and have a mouth full of crowns, a bridge and a tooth implant.
The technicians are friendly and gentle and they remember who you are and are interested in your life. In fact, they jokingly told my mom she wasn’t allowed to come back without wedding photos after my wedding!
Dr. White is amazing. He’s a fantastic dentist, and is great at administering novacaine. The first shot I got, the hygienist let me hold her hand, which I appreciate since I was young and scared. I never really got much better at shots, but Dr. White understands and keeps that in mind when working with my mouth. He’s done the bridges, part of the tooth implant and even some of the simpler extractions. He explains what he’s doing as he’s working and answers any questions you have. I even flew up from Orange County for an emergency double root canal that another dentists «didn’t feel comfortable» doing because it was the two teeth anchoring my bridge. However, Dr. White did a fantastic job, had no problems and made it practically painless. He also lays out options for treatment plainly and simply and doesn’t try to upsell you on more expensive, or unnecessary procedures. The first bridges I had done, he made sure to send out to the best lab he could find (the one that did work for the Extreme Makeover shows) so I could finally be comfortable showing my teeth while smiling (something I didn’t do until he made my smile beautiful). He’s come in on his day off and stayed late in the office for me or my dad if we’ve needed it and is always flexible. He cares about the patient, not about the money or the procedures, and that’s what makes him the best dentist ever. He’s an amazing man, and a great dentist. He flies his plane down to Mexico to do free dental work, and he’s even a novelist (it’s a great book!) I’ve never met a person who truly meets the qualifiers for being a renaissance man so completely. I trust him with my mouth implicitly and owe my beautiful smile to his talented work. He’s a miracle worker!

The front desk staff are sooo friendly! I called to make an apt. and they were able to get me in the next day.
The technician was gentle while cleaning my teeth and again so friendly. She explained what she was doing and as she went along. They remembered my husband (my first time there, he had onlyben once) and had nice things to say about him and asked about the kids and travels.
Dr. A the other Dr. in the office saw me and he was really nice also asking about my husband. He was thourough in checking my teeth and took the time to answer questions.
I will definitly be back.

Went to him for a 2^nd opinion about a crown that had fallen out. Not only was he ethical & honest, he gave me options for tx. The tooth had no decay & the crown was in good condition and could be cemented back in place.
He diagnose an existing dental-​medical condition viewable on the x-​ray I had brought in from across the street from him. I had an abscess that was in need of a root canal. The other dentist had missed it.
The tooth had a crown & Dr. White said he could do the root canal through the crown. I had him do a full exam and authorized him to do the root canal as well as cement the other crown back in place.
Back to the other dentist for my teeth cleaning and was basically kicked out since I did not trust the dentist in his honesty in tx needed and missing not seeing the abscess. Instead of admitting his oversight and TRY to regaon my confidence, he just said he did not want me as a patient. Sarcastically wished me luck that the tooth would last a long time. Had to mention he teaches at UCSF, (so he got a 2^nd income).
Oh, BTW, Dr. White takes time off each year to go work at a free clinic!
Dr. White: 1 star honesty and ethics 1 star treatment options 1 star bedside manner, 1 star staff and office, 1 star respect for patient = 5 stars. If I could give him 10 I would!

Update, nine years later and nineteen into my patient/​dentist relationship:

Yes, that’s six stars. I think you’d agree. I broke a tooth at 4:15PM. Pain. Not the kind that’d kill me, but, still: pain. Dr. White agreed to squeeze me in at 5:15PM, mainly to get me comfortable and do an assessment. What a blessing. Five stars. But wait, there’s more! Leaving out the grisly medical details, he continued working well into the night to finish the job and save me the inconvenience of having to return. (When was the last time a doctor, dentist… auto mechanic, plumber, florist cared about your convenience at 2.5 hours after closing time?) The last hour was a solo effort — no assistant. (More concern about the inconvenience of others.) Right out to the last cotton roll and sharp metal utensil, he kept me comfortable, informed and amused.
Six stars, right?
(While the circumstances described here were unusual, there is some serious customer service going on.)

Ever had a dentist direct you to a simpler, less expensive procedure? Dr. White did. I’ve been a patient for a decade or so, and he’s never tried to up-​sell me anything. And no Unilocal!ing in the chair. His staff is also pleasant and skillful.
