Their yearly re-​certification process reviews our facilities, our equipment and the customer satisfaction ratings compiled by their staff.

One way we retain our high satisfaction ratings is we employ technicians which have been certified through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence as Advanced Level Master Technicians. Which means our technicians are highly skilled at all eight categories of the vehicles mechanical and electrical systems.

Our Service Manager, George Curletto, has over 4 decades of experience in diagnosing and servicing all makes of vehicles. He is an expert at explaining complex repair procedures in terms everyone can comprehend. George takes the time necessary to explain the required repair ensuring you feel confident that your vehicle is in good hands having only the necessary repairs performed. We feel the time he spends communicating with our customers is time well spent!

Great service! Reasonalble prices. I came here because Aamco nearby recommended this place and because of the good reviews on Unilocal.
I brought my Hyundai Sonata to be serviced here. My car problems are very complicated and too complex to write so I won’t go into detail about it but basically I have an ABS thingy problem and it’s causing my car to fail a STAR Smog Test. I had to tell Joe a lot of history of things I had worked on to help figure out where to start and he patiently listened and asked me questions to figure out how to begin to approach my car problems.
After a mechanic looked into my car problems Joe explained to me what was going on with my car and showed me the diagnostic test. He also told me that I should get a second opinion from Hyundai because I possibly may need to buy a new part for my car that could cost around $ 1800 and has to be shipped from the east coast. He wanted to make sure that before I spend a lot of money on that part and go without my car for several days that the problem is verified by a second opinion. He also told me of some other options to get the part I need that could save me money.
Although they didn’t fix my car, I appreciate Joe’s honesty, integrity, and attention to detail. I saved $ 20 off my bill by checking in on Unilocal and redeeming a coupon offer. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a good auto repair shop.

Brought a bmw here to get inspected before I buy it from someone & they thoroughly checked it. A bit pricey, but it was worth it since the quality of their work was amazing. I now know exactly what needs to be done on the car, and the service was excellent. Joe was very nice and communicated all the info to me in a professional and helpful manner.

After waiting about 10 minutes at Contra Costa smog to open. I decided to go to Joes, which was just around the corner and up the street. Very happy I did. They got me in and out for a smog check in about 20 minutes. Got to work on time and I am one happy customer. Will probably come back for a major service in the future.

The splash guard (big plastic guard under the front of a car) had hit too many curbs and was just about to fall off. I just happened to drive by Joe’s and said «Okay I’ll trust these guys…» to fix this thing.
Wow, were they awesome! They not only reattached the splash guard but gave me a discount for being a AAA member. They only charged me for labor, too. I was totally impressed with their professionalism and promptness. I have to say — they have won a new customer. Thank you, thank you!

I had gone in to get brake shoes changed through Amazon. While I was still there, the shoes were examined and I was told that I don’t need to have them replaced. That saved me money and hassle. I was very pleased with the service, personnel and the facilities.

Found Joe’s just driving down Main Street looking for SMOG sign… Great find! George, the guy at the front desk was a good guy. Not used to good olé’ customer service these days. They were able to take me right in and within a half hour I was done. For sure I will be taking my cars there for repair/​service moving forward.

We use Joe’s Automotive and have been very pleased with their service. This morning I took my car in for an oil change and to have my prius hybrid battery pack checked, both jobs well done and they spent time informing me about the battery pack check (great). They are wonderful on followup and we trust their work and honesty. Highly recommend them for service, follow up and attention to details.

I don’t think I’ve ever written a review before, but my experience with them this morning was so good, I figured now is the time to start.
Joe’s was awesome. I took my car in because it was leaking oil. They found the problem and fixed it in almost no time. While they were looking at my car, however, they noticed that I was driving on dangerously worn out tires (hey, I can be oblivious). They ended up driving the car to another (tire) shop to get new tires! How nice is that?
Everyone I interacted with was really friendly. Turns out my oil problem was caused by the oil change place I went to last month. I’m going to go to Joe’s instead from now on!

I’ve been bringing my assortment of Toyotas, Hondas, and Suzukis to Joe’s for years and he’s always done a terrific job keeping them running — even after being driven mercilessly by our 4 teenage boys! He is straightforward and honest, and can be depended on to get it right. Couldn’t ask for more!

When my regular shop was too busy for me, Joe stepped up. I was nervous bringing my car in… the problem was vague — it could have been anything, and you just never know what vehicle repairs are going to cost. At about $ 136/​hour, I was pretty nervous to hear the results.
George and Joe both called me a couple times throughout the day with updates, but also to let me know they needed more time to figure it out. At this point, my wallet was sweating. When I finally showed up to pick it up, they charged me for a half hour. I was shocked and delighted to say the least!
Here’s what was awesome about Joes:
— They made an extra effort to fix my car that (busy) day, and came through.
— They didn’t abuse me at all in regard to price — quite the opposite.
— They called me regularly to keep me up-​to-​date with what was going on with my vehicle. This is HUGE to me! Communication is so important and so neglected by most shops.
Joe and his crew are awesome and are now my new «regular» shop.

I was referred here to check out some car noise. The guys quoted me 67 for a half hour. However, they figured out pretty quickly that my nose was from metal on metal vibration and it needs a body shop to fix.
Since it was so quick they waived the fee. Honest mechanics

All depends on the tech you get and their current attitude. I went in for a simple smog check and the tech was pissed off that I arrived 15 minutes before he was scheduled to leave. The result was he could not get the smog machine to read my car’s sensors, told me they can’t smog it and it would need dealer service to repair it. The tech left in a fit and was visibly upset his ride from work had to wait 3 minutes for him. As a result I drove down the road ti another smog shop and the tech there had no issue reading my car’s sensors and the car passed the smog check with no extra effort. I have decided to no longer take my vehicle’s here for any reason; service or smog. It’s more telling than I initially realized that an automotive service shop has no auto magazines; its apparent there are no car guys there.

My husband and I started taking our cars to Joe’s about two years ago. My husband has a 2005 Lexus and I have a 2002 Mercedes.
On the LEXUS, he has always had excellent service. Any repairs are resolved quickly and completely. He gets his regular service and he is in and out quickly
My MERCEDES is a different story. For the last year, EVERY time I have taken my Mercedes in for service I have had to return to have something fixed or tweaked. They have overfilled the oil twice. They have never seemed to get the service indicator reset correctly and I always have to take it back for that. The last time they didn’t get it set correctly on the second try either. I have a very busy schedule I don’t have time to return for re-​repairs of my car. Even though the shop was convenient, I am taking my car to a different repair shop specializing in Mercedes. I will review them after a couple of visits, but so far so good.

I didn’t get any work done here… so why am I writing a great review? I went there thinking I needed new rotors… I was 100% certain… when I got there Joe went for a test drive with me and told me it was something totally different… no charge and he gave me a great reference…
You don’t get that kind of honesty these days… he could have easily taken my money and sent me on my way.
I will be back when any issue arrives and hopefully I can actually get some work done so I can help keep this business going.

I’m a DIY car guy and needed a second opinion on what I thought was the problem, after having done a ton of work myself on related issues.
Came here after being referred by another shop who said they didn’t do suspension.
They listened, confirmed my diagnosis, and I had them do the work.
They completed it in under book time, so charged me accordingly, instead of padding the bill like every other shop.
I’m a bit shocked at how high the labor rate is, but as a DIY guy, I don’t often go to repair shops, so perhaps thats just the going rate nowadays.
