Established in 2009 by entrepreneur and beauty specialist, Vimaa Patel, who introduced an upscale boutique specializing in the art of Threading, Permanent Makeup and Unique Body Art. Vimaa, being an esthetician by trade, wanted to share her gift and passion with the rest of the community and create a better way for people to experience beauty services. Thus, iBar was founded, integrating beauty, fashion, and culture.

I used to come here at least once a month, but I haven’t been back since my visit on April 20th. They were a little busy, and only had one technician working, it was around 5pm. I waited for 15 minutes and then was seated, not a bad wait.
Anyways, I had multiple hairs from my HEAD not my brows ripped out during the threading process. At this point, I can just tell she’s rushing and it’s making me quite nervous. Then, there is a painful moment, which I let her know, OUCH, that one hurt. I get up out of the chair, and my skin below my eyebrow is BURNING. That’s when I noticed a piece of skin had been ripped out from below my eyebrow. how? I don’t know, but I was bleeding, and then was asked if my experience was okay at the front desk. I was pretty upset so I just wanted out of there at this point…
My question is, after the technician did it, why did she continue as if nothing had happened? Like oops… maybe if I don’t say anything she won’t notice the skin that’s missing from her face. At least acknowledge and apologize for making me BLEED. Unacceptable. It continued to burn, swell, and then scab the next day. Not exactly the result I’m looking for when I go in for a cosmetic treatment.
Service has declined here after they made their tips cash only. I think they lost a lot of good employees when they did that.

I came into Ibar today with a full set of eyelash extensions I had received at a different salon. I was having an allergic reaction to the adhesive and the extensions. My extensions were so dense per lash that I was in a considerable amount of discomfort from day one. AGAIN, THE EYELASH EXTENSIONS I WALKED INTO IBAR WITH WERE NOT GIVEN TO ME AT IBAR.
This review is for Carleen and her great compassion for my situation. I had, had the extensions for a week, to the day. I called Ibar on Tuesday in hopes of having them removed. Luckily, I was able to get an appointment the next afternoon on Wednesday! Carleen spent probably 45 – 50 minutes (usually takes 15 minutes but mine were so bad it took much longer) removing the eyelashes and adhesive from my own eyelashes. The procedure was painless and she apologized multiple times due to me having such a bad experience with the eyelashes. Guys, she wasn’t even the person who gave me the extensions in the first place!
What a generally nice person carleen is! It is no wonder she is an instructor in her trade!
Thank you Carleen! I would be happy to recommend you to anyone looking for beautiful lashes by a wonderful expert!

I’ve been going to ibar for about 3 years. I feel like walking in has always been a hit or miss. I’ve come across some great women who are exceptional and some that have been below average. Yesterday i encountered another new girl so I had no idea how my experience will be. Will it be good or will it be bad? I asked that some specific hairs not be threaded because of a previous girl who made my left eyebrow way too thin. I had been growing my eyebrows out for 3 weeks. Not only did she thread those specific hairs but also made both eyebrows crooked with several chunks of hair missing.
I don’t want to walk in to a place always wondering if it’ll end up being a great or horrible experience. It should be great all the time. I’m sorry but I’m through with he guessing games and I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

I would give this place 0 stars if possible. Let’s start from the beginning. I saw a coupon online and had some questions so I called the location and asked if this could be purchased in store and the person said yes. So I waisted my time going in to find out no it can only be purchased online. Fine I purchased the deal online because it was cheap. I make an appointment the person is only there two days a week Wednesday and Saturday from what I understand. I get a call and they need to cancel my appointment for at least 5 days because the only water is sick. I get in Marisa is great. Professional and did a great job. No issues at all. I had printed out my deal for them and the front desk person did not know how to apply it but said she’d take care of it. I also asked if the expiration could be pushed back a week since I missed 5 days. She told me someone would get back to me. No one did. Next time I schedule my appointment with a new girl because Marisa is gone. I go in oops the person who scheduled me did not know what time the waxer comes in and scheduled me an hour before. I couldn’t wait an hour so scheduled it for the next day which I did not know they do Sundays well. I go in the new lady is horrible. I left all sticky, she didn’t offer a towel to cover up my privates and expected to open the door with my privates toward it! When I came down to pay which I already did they had no clue how to apply the deal. And once again I asked about changing the expiration a week. She told me she’d ask the manager and someone would get back to me. Nope. I called again this week and left a message at the offices rather than with the front desk and never got a call back. Horrible customer service. Do not go there unless you want to leave sticky! FYI I’ve been getting waxed for over 5 years and never left sticky until I left here!

This place is known for their great eyebrow threading services, so I didn’t hesitate once when I booked an appointment for eyelash extensions. I was very wrong! Even though the girl that did my eyelashes was very polite, I had the worst reaction to the glue. During the procedure my eyes were burning! I asked if that was normal and I was told yes… I was given a small fan during the procedure to help with the burning sensation. The procedure lasted an hour and 15 minutes. When I opened my eyes they were bloodshot! Very painful to blink. I put eye drops in my eyes to get some relief but nothing helped. I called the salon and this very rude girl named Jordan answered. This was my first time getting extensions so I was concerned about my eyes. (Obviously) I also had a black tie event to go to so of course I wanted some help. She was so rude and kept telling me I signed consent forms so basically I shouldn’t be complaining. Ok??? Well the next morning was even worse! My left eye was so red that I went to the eye doctor and got some steroid eye drops to help. I had to put eye drops in every 4 hours.
This wasn’t even the worst part. I was told that the eyelashes were supposed to last 3 – 4 weeks. Well that didn’t happen. A lot of them started to fall out THE NEXT DAY! $ 200 down the drain! I am so disappointed with how everything turned out! Strip lashes give you a bolder, darker look without the redness, irritation and rudeness of staff.
I will never ever get my extensions here again.
Unfortunately with how I was treated on the phone I see this salon in a very different light.

I really liked coming to IBar. They do a good clean job and hardly hurts if at all. They are experienced in their eyebrow shaping. I am just really sad and upset that the Palo Alto store closed down. I know they have the express bar but its not in one close enough place or in the same location long enough. I used to be able to go to the Palo Alto one right after work or on the weekends but since then am on the hunt for a new location.

I really like this place. I’ve been here twice now and the first time, I was kind of dissatisfied, especially with the way she colored in my eyebrows again, after she was done threading, and I looked like a meme. BUT, the second time I came here I used that coupon that’s like 50% off on a full face thread so it was like $ 20 instead of $ 40. I think brows by themselves are regularly $ 16 or so, so I definitely took advantage of that. Both times it didn’t really hurt and she was super fast. I feel bad because I don’t know her name, but I’m assuming she’s the one that takes care of walk-​ins like me. The second time she did a fabulous job and my face felt super smooth. I left there so happy and satisfied that I went and got my nails done just to complete how fab I felt LOL.
Anyways, if you’re looking for a place to get your brows threaded this is definitely it. I had never gotten my brows threaded before but my coworker spoke so highly of them, and I needed them done so badly, that I decided to take the plunge. If you want to make doubly sure you get good service I suppose you should make an appointment, but honestly the girl that did mine did just fine. At first it’s kind of awkward but I’m a quiet person, so I was sort of relieved for the silence (and I don’t particularly feel like having a conversation when you’re putting in work on my face… so yeah, a relief).
Parking wasn’t as bad as you would think considering it’s in dtwc, but it’s not in the heart of dtwc. The first time I found parking immediately, and it was as close as you could possibly park without parking right in front. The second time I parked across the street so I had to cross that longass unprotected crosswalk, but it still wasn’t a pain.
Overall, totally recommend this place! They’re fast, it doesn’t hurt, is decently priced, and parking is’t a b!

I have been a loyal customer of ibar for 5+ years. I get my eyebrows threaded there and no matter who I go to I am never disappointed (and I am very picky about eyebrows)! Threading has always worked wonderfully for me. I never get irritation on my skin and the shape always turns out natural and shapely. I love it. I recently got my eyelashes done there after having gone to multiple places and being disappointed by hours, service, or general customer service. Ibar does an amazing job. I wish I had saved my time and gone there first. Christina does the best eyelashes. I’ve gone twice and I told her once how I liked them and she does it perfectly. They are full and long but still natural looking. I highly recommend ibar for any beauty services. They are clean, professional, and do a great job!

I stopped by on Sunday and unfortunately this place was super packed but that’s just because it is so great, I was so happy to see my favorite threader working that day salu and the receptionist with long brown hair was super kind and welcoming unlike the one I saw last time which was a nice change. I highly recommend this place but def a smarter idea to come in on weekdays rather than weekends due to how packed they are

I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for years and I can’t believe it took me so long to find this place! Nema took her time shaping my brows perfectly to go with my facial structure. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I will never go anywhere else again! If you haven’t been I highly recommend trying it out, you won’t be disappointed!

My advice is to not join the tricky and deceiving membership here. They have been unclear and uncooperative from the very beginning. I was booking my appointments every 2 weeks according to their two week lash fill plan. Then I signed up be a member to presumably save $ 10 per appointment. But the membership only applies to 2 appointments per month so if you want your lashes in 2 weeks and it falls over a longer month, they make you pay full price in addition to the monthly membership fee. I unknowingly booked an appointment (in two weeks) that didn’t fall within my 2 appointment window so I was charged $ 160 for the month! Not including the cash gratuity they insist on! I immediately tried to cancel my membership but nooooo, I was told I had to wait until my 3 month mandatory membership period was over to call back. So I had to go back for more lashes 3 more times and make sure they were scheduled just perfectly in order to benefit from my membership. I finally was able to call to cancel and was told that I must not only email them but that I should have done it exactly 30 days in advance of my membership cycle start day which already passed. They wouldn’t even give me a phone number for management, email only! Fortunately Dana, the designated peacemaker/​middleman called me back and was able to let me off the hook and canceled my membership. She’s been the only reasonable person throughout this whole mess! Otherwise I was expected to mark my calendar to send that email.
Confusing, I know, best to not lock yourself into this ordeal. The one star is for Christina, she is delightful and does an amazing job!

I was very loyal to my threading girl in Concord. very loyal. like. ask her about her kids, we hugged, and she knows about my love life.
She wasn’t available on a day I needed a last minute threading. I had a date! I needed perfect brows!
My friend had suggested iBar.
Parking was annoying. All meters. I only found 35 cents which bought me 20 minutes.
DIDN’T MATTER. i was one and done after ten minutes. I had time LEFT on the meter.
$ 16 felt good since I was paying $ 17 before.
The entire facility is beautiful and clean and very fancy feeling. very Walnut Creek :)
BEST EYEBROWS EVER.
Shalu (spellcheck? please don’t hate me if I get it wrong!) might not know it yet, but I will be back for her. because I am loving these compliments about how my «eyebrow game is on point.»
(and my date was great!)
