I’m an athlete and have been to many chiropractors in the past, but I have a very special space in my heart for Dr. Baker and his staff (Christie and Kelly). No matter when the last visit was, they always remember and call me by my name. Big genuine smiles every darn time, rain or sunshine.
Dr. Baker has been a life time athlete himself, so he just gets it whenever I don’t even know where my pain/​discomfort comes from. His adjustments are simply world-​class; I never knew his cracks can relieve even my headaches!
I sound like a commercial testimony, but they truly earned my strongest recommendation.

I always walk out of here feeling much better than I did when I walked in. Dr. Baker is very skilled at his job, and makes you feel relaxed when he is adjusting you. He really cares about every aspect of your health, not just your spine. He can help cure any of your ailments, whether it’s back pain, a strained muscle, a sprained ankle, allergies, digestive issues– really everything! He is very knowledgeable and knows about a lot more than just chiropractic. He and his assistants at the desk are super friendly, and always accommodating. Adjustments are quick and convenient; I often drop by without an appointment and am in and out within 10 – 15 minutes. If you ask me, Dr Baker is as close as it gets to a one-​stop shop for your health; he truly redefines the expectations of a chiropractor.

My wife and I have been comeing to Dr Baker for over 6 months.
The staff is amazingly frendly and knowledgeable and the adjustments really make the difference in how I feel in my over all lifestyle.
I first started this eye opening jorney because my wife told me to. I did not believe it worked until I noticed my headaches stopped after 2 weeks of treatments. My back pain completely stopped after 4 weeks of care from Dr. Baker.
Being in construction as a ironwork out of the local 378 I always come back sore from work.
I come to see Dr. Baker 2 – 3 times a week my back feels great, headaches are completely gone. I feel like a millionaire, mentally and physically.

The Baker family chiropractor is the best.
I used to go there after my first delivery. I had so much pain on my back and shoulder and almost every part of my body at that time. And I found the Dr. Baker and went for more than 2months.
It was really helpful and all staffs are very nice and comfortable.
Dr. Baker, Dr. Tom both are caring not only patient’s body but also patient’s mind. whenever I visited, I came out with happy and positive energy.
Now I’m in second pregnancy and going to another place, referred by my obgyn. They take my insurance so it’s inevitable for me to move. However, I still think Baker Family Chiropractic Center is really the best.

Dr. Baker is THE BEST!!! I have suffered from miragines starting when I was 13. I would be bedridden for at least a week each time. I went to many different medical doctors and specialists and all just threw one prescription at me after another with no relief. I finally tried chiropractic and quite honestly I dont know why I didnt do it sooner. The excellent chiropractic care I recieve from Dr. Baker has given me my life back so much more than I can express. I get IMMEDIATE relief EVERY time along with the many many other benefits you recieve from chiropractic care. There really is no down side to even giving it a try. In December 2013, I was snowboarding up in Tahoe and took a big fall and thought I broke my hip. I had severe pain in my lower back that prevented me from sitting up or down without my back hurting. I am a water polo player and I am constantly getting hit, kicked, and grabbed inside the pool. Even though I ignored the pain, it was starting to take it’s toll. This injury was preventing me from performing my best. I would try stretching and taking medication to help ease the pain but none of it helped ease the pain. Finally, one day my water polo coach told me about Dr. Baker and said that he takes care of our team at DVC. I had never been to a chiropractor before in my life and I was a bit skeptical. The first time I went to Baker Family Chiropractic Center, Dr. Baker explained the purpose and benefits of chiropractic. He was very thorough and took x-​rays of my lower back. I began visiting him twice a week to get adjustments. I have now been a patient at Baker Family Chiropractic Center for almost 2 years and my back has never felt better! I have developed stronger muscles around my spine, especially around my lower back where my injury occurred. It was not an easy road but it was definitely for the better. I have been able to play more efficient water polo and my snowboarding abilities have greatly improved. I have to give credit to Dr. Baker and his staff, Krissy and Kelly, for helping me and for keeping my health a priority. I hope that my experience will prompt others to try chiropractic care. I was a chiropractic skeptic for a long time, but I had enough issues with upper back pain that at some point I decided that it couldn’t hurt to at least consult with a chiropractor. I’ve since seen a couple chiropractors, the most recent of which is Dr. Baker, and I am now pain-​free in my upper back.
Dr. Baker is a professional who takes patient care seriously. He takes x-​rays of each new patient and explains his findings thoroughly and patiently. Aside from the extremely helpful chiropractic adjustments, he also provides advice on nutrition, sleep, healing from injury, and injury prevention. Additionally, they have often found time to see me on short notice, and the appointments are generally quick and efficient.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bakers close to a year now. Before coming to him I had a long history of back pain due to two auto accidents. Lots of inflammation, scar tissue damage, shooting pains etc. I hadn’t been to a chiropractor in a while and tried several in the Walnut Creek & Concord area before seeing Dr. Baker. I decided to stick with Dr. Baker not only for his expertise in chiropractic care, but also for his professional demeanor and outstanding bedside manners. I work in the medical industry and can confidently say that Dr. Baker is the best in his craft in this area. He is extremely compassionate, caring & helpful to all of his patients. Since I have been seeing him my shooting pains have decreased and my overall energy level has gone up. Although I am not at my level of «100%», I am confident that with continued care with Dr. Baker I will be there soon, and I plan to seek ongoing care with him once I get to my personal best. Also, I can’t say enough positive things about the front desk staff. The most kind & compassionate people greet you upon arrival to your appointment. When you’re in pain, days can be extremely difficult both mentally & physically. The second you walk into this office the positive energy flows right through you! If you are in pain or discomfort then you need the care of Doctors Baker and Massa! I’ve been coming to Baker Family Chiropractic for treatment of chronic back and neck pain and I’m sure glad I did. They take the time to thoroughly examine your situation including taking x-​rays and then recommend a course of action that’s tailored to your needs.
The support staff is awesome, very friendly and accommodating. They even offer you refreshments while you wait! Both Dr. Baker and Dr. Michelle are very skilled, and having two doctors on staff is so convenient for scheduling appointments around my work schedule. Plus they offer tips on posture, which has been great for when I’m at work. They even offer an exercise room for patients that has weights and other equipment!

My wife and I started coming to Dr. Baker about 1 year ago and we can honestly say we have never felt better! We look forward to every adjustment as it provides us not only pain relief, but great energy!
Since coming to Dr. Baker we have become much more active in our lifestyles, especially keeping up with our energetic and fun yellow lab! My wife and I have very physically and mentally taxing careers. As a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit, my wife is constantly on her feet, bending, lifting and ultimately doing damage to her back, neck and joints. Dr. Baker keeps her spine aligned, her pain under control and gives her the energy needed to continue providing care to others. I am a professional disk jockey which is also a very physically challenging job. I am also constantly on my feet, bending, lifting and carrying heavy equipment to and from gigs. Dr. Baker also keeps me in tip-​top shape and gives me the energy I need to keep the party going!
The majority of people don’t understand how important it is to keep our back and spines healthy. By coming to Baker Family Chiropractic we have realized the benefits of chiropractic care and are very grateful!

Dr baker is the best! I came in first a few months ago, and from the start I’ve felt comfort and professionalism. Read all the good reviews and decided for this chiropractor. Now I’m wondering where all those good reviews are coming from, from the wealthy folks with millions of $$ who don’t care how much and what they pay for?
Or maybe some of those reviews are fake? (I’ve heard of that being the case on Unilocal sometimes too).
65 $ for 5 minutes of neck massage? Really? I mean it’s about 800 $ per hour. Now, imagine how good the have to be for the price? Nope, they’re not worth of 65 $ an hour. I went there 3 times — first time the adjustment took about 15 minutes (then x-​ray and consultation took some additional time), second time it was about 10 min, and third — 5 min. Given the progression, next time they’ll just charge me for nothing?
That’s fine if that would help at least, but my pain got worse!
I know, 3 times isn’t a lot, but wouldn’t you expect at least some relief? Especially, since they try to trick you into a 2,500 $ contract right away. How should one decide whether or not to sign it without knowing how good they are? All this is very strange for me…
If I never went to any chiropractor in my life, then after this visit I’d think all of them are the same and just scratch them from my list completely, but I had some very good experience about 5 years ago with a similar type of issue. The cost was similar, but adjustments and massage took at least 30 minutes. After the second visit I already didn’t feel the pain. But I went there 4 times more (that was the minimum recommended by the chiropractor) and didn’t have any issues with my neck all these years. Sadly, we moved since then and I can’t go to that guy anymore — it’s about 1 hour drive from Walnut Creek, in Santa Clara.
They’re all nice people though, but it’s not what I pay for.
It’s your call in the end, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody.

I have been going to Dr. Baker’s office Twice a week for almost a year now. The adjustments are solid and spot on. I train and compete in amateur bike races. and I tend to have dull ache around the SI joint. It use to be quite painful for me and sometimes I have to give up a climb because of it. I have seen a handful of other Chiropractors but none are as generous. Some only did half side and some only did 1 move.
The first time I visited Dr. Baker, he was very thorough with the check up. He did xray analysis on the bone and pointed out a couple of places where adjustment would help. He was always straight forward and willing to explain. Very easy to talk to. After putting me on a plan which entailed frequent visits. I have noticed that the SI pain was controlled. Then after 1 solid month, that’s when I feel the pain is not appearing as often. Now I don’t feel it. I have to say that with good adjustments and regular maintenance the body just does feel more relaxed. Workouts are more useful as the muscles are moving better thus creating more power. I have a SRM power meter on my bike, it can measure power output within 5% accuracy. I have noticed a power increase from the adjustments through numbers. So if any cyclist out there feeling the same pain, come over and give Dr Baker a visit. I highly recommend it. The office is very conveniently located.
Also, if you ever get a chance to wait, check out the «Rhino books» and hope you will agree that Dr. Baker is a Rhino!

I have been suffering with (at times, severe) back pain for years due to an old injury. Over the years, I’ve seen about 4 different chiropractors for my back issues. During my pregnancy I was on bed rest which took a great toll on my spine/​back. After having the baby, I had a very difficult time walking because my spine was completely out of whack. This was the beginning of another back episode. I began to seek care with another chiropractor before Dr. Baker (with whom I was seeing sporadically before going on bed rest). Unfortunately, I felt like this other chiropractor was not doing much for me… plus, I was only seeing him out of convenience as his office was a few blocks from where I live and his office was not very welcoming which made it easy for me to finally make the decision to leave and go to another chiropractor. Using Unilocal!I found Dr. Baker… and wow, am I so glad I made the decision to go see him! On my first few visits with him he was very thorough with X-​rays and coming up with a proper treatment plan. I was glad he took X-​rays (something my previous Chiro did not do) because I actually got to see how twisted and lopsided my spine and hips were and trust me, it was not a pretty sight! I’ve been seeking treatment with Dr. Baker for about 6 months now and I feel (and my spine looks) so much better! I see him 1−2x week because I have a 1yr old that requires me to be mobile and not in pain. And since I’ve been seeing him I’ve never been so active in my LIFE! Dr. Baker and his team are exceedingly friendly, welcoming and very kid friendly. Appointments are easy to make and they are very flexible with walk-​ins.
In short, if you’re looking for a chiropractor in the Walnut Creek area I highly recommend giving Dr. Baker a try!

Why did my review get filtered by Unilocal?I find that quite troubling, especially when gibberish reviews like Lizzie D. (see below) are considered valid. I also noticed several negative reviews for this business tossed in the slush pile where most people cannot view them. This skews results and when dealing with a practitioner of medicine, not something to be taken lightly. I’m republishing here for the sake of veracity:
Overall, disappointed in Dr. Baker’s adjustments. Very nice guy, can’t fault him for his attention skills, patience and friendly bedside manner, but I didn’t get relief from my painful symptoms. I stopped going to him and decided a different course of action was needed.
I initially sought treatment for a mild lower back pain, and tingling in my fingers. Now I’m experiencing intense neck aches, numbness in leg, cracking and snapping joints, especially in my neck, and shoulder blades. In a matter of 6 months, all my symptoms intensified. Most chiros typically believe all pain stems from structural problems – when, in fact, a deeper and broader examination is needed, before trying to adjust people that don’t need adjustments and possibly exacerbating issues or injury.

A neurologist told me he does not recommend getting any sort of neck manipulation – it is dangerous and only does more harm than good. I suggest to any patient to do extensive research before seeking out any medical professional, and make sure you look for one with experience and a roster of credentials and techniques under his belt.

Loved: The adjustments. How positive the office is. Dr. Baker listens to everything you have to say. He doesn’t rush you out the door that you would find at other doctor’s office.
Hate: I hate how I live so far from this place! It’s not his fault! I moved to San Francisco, but the commute is well worth it!
