I am an acupuncturist in Lafayette who went to Dr. Patel (with great hesitation) for insomnia. She was incredibly professional, knowledgable, and well worth the time and money. I now send any patient I see who is interested in marijuana-​related info to her, even high-​end CEOs and people otherwise hesitant to pursue this kind of treatment. She won’t let you down, and will give appropriate suggestions relative to your situation. Highly recommended.

I should start off by mentioning that Dr. Patel is incredibly knowledgeable and the staff is friendly and professional. That being said, $ 190 is waaaay too much to charge for a recommendation. In 2013, I paid $ 50 for my recommendation (San Jose) and in 2014 I paid $ 70 (San Francisco).
Also, they only accept cash/​check, so come prepared.

If I could give Dr. Patel more than 5 stars I would! I moved here from the east coast, I was a MM patient over there. Comparing my experience from the east coast to here, she is by far the best! I have been a MM patient for a couple of years prior to coming here, she still gave me more information than I had ever received before. She helped me by giving me information that allowed me to switch over from smoking to edibles. Her advice was truly appreciated as it helped me narrow down my dosage level in a matter of three days. I have a law enforcement background as well as prior military, so choosing MM was not an easy choice for me, however, I am doing so much better now than I was before on the usual prescribed pills for chronic pain, migraines, depression, and ptsd. If you are thinking about MM, I urge you to call Dr. Patel and make an appointment, I honestly don’t think you will be disappointed.

I was very disappointed in my visit to her. It was not at all what I expected. She spoke 80 miles an hour. I could not absorb what she was saying. I got the feeling that all she was interested in was the $ 185 so that she could give someone a card and not to spend time giving more knowledge to the patient on the use of the product. I felt that it was a real rush job. I was in tears when I left her office. It was not a good experience.

I made a same day appointment and had a prompt meeting with the doctor. She was very smart and even educated me on what I should be taking which, never happened to me when I was at MediCann. I almost felt like I should’ve been taking notes and putting money in a tip jar, which quite honestly hasn’t happened since I started getting medical marijuana. Which, is a statement, because I am pretty well studied on the plant. The only draw back to this place is that it’s on the expensive side. $ 160(cash)/$ 170(Visa). Which, quite honestly was worth it for a same day appointment. Especially considering the education Dr. Patel gave me in terms of what should or shouldn’t be working for my condition.
In the end, I walked away valid for a year which, is all that matters for me. I don’t like pills, and my G.A.D. (General Anxiety Disorder) runs my life without anything there to counter it. So walking away with this today was relieving.
Now if the voters in California can see what Colorado is up to, then I think we’d have a better situation. But I don’t think that’s going to happen for a while, so considering that this is California, I truly believe Patel is one of the better doctors you can reach out to for your cannabis papers and card.
So five stars for service, and same day meeting. I’d bump my overall score down to 4⁄5 stars due to price, but I feel like I had enough education there to give it a true 5⁄5.

I’ve had a medical MJ card for a few years now and out of convenience, I chose to see Dr. Patel to renew my card. I thought I was very knowledgeable on this subject, but Dr. Patel taught me so much more than I thought was out there. She takes a very different approach compared to other MMJ doctors — she CARES ABOUT YOUR WELLNESS! She probed and asked me very good questions to try to help me improve my condition through very specific applications of MMJ — not merely get a medical card. I firmly believe this is the best approach to getting holistic help with whatever your ailments are. Dr. Patel is setting the standard for how real help can come from doctors working with MMJ to improve your life. See all of those 5 star ratings??? It’s not a fluke folks!

After years of suffering from PTSD and the related nightmares and night terrors, I decided to give medical CBD a try. I was very anxious but luckily I found Dr Patel online and was blown away by her class, professionalism and concern. Her office is in a super nice, professional nhood in Walnut Creek. The office itself has a spa feel — my nerves were calmed from the minute I walked in. The big thing that impressed me was her bedside manner and how she took a long time explaining everything. I am fairly knowledgeable about my cervical arthritis issues and I was impressed that Dr Patel steered me toward a medical cannabis product that contains almost no THC. She spent time explaining that I needed a calming effect on my nervous system which CBD provides. It is chewable and I can control the amount I need. In only two weeks I have felt much less anxiety that accompanied my dizziness and can handle my headaches much better. I am in my 60’s and feel Dr Patel is a good resource to deal with pains that accompany an aging body. Todays cannabis products are very diverse and Dr Patel can help you navigate the right product for you

If you are even vaguely thinking medical marijuana might help you with insomnia, pain, etc, go see Dr. Patel. She will set you upon the right path by sharing what she knows about the medical uses of medical marijuana. She has made it her specialty besides being a regular Osteopath. I was very surprised by the extent of her knowledge and by her care. Whenever I have a question concerning my treatment, I feel comfortable calling her knowing she is very generous with her time.

I’ve never had a card before and was seeking to relieve pain associated with a medical condition that necessitated surgery several years ago. All of the «traditional» meds have undesirable side effects, ranging from lingering grogginess to the potential for physical addiction.
I decided to get a medical marijuana card with some trepidation, knowing that the clinics are often in undesirable parts of town, and I didn’t want to feel like a «criminal» going through the process.
Dr. Patel is extremely knowledgeable and engaging. I felt comfortable with her from the very beginning, and her office is well-​kept and very professional. She readily shared her knowledge about medicating with cannabis, and she displayed a genuine interest in my particular medical situation.

Dr. Patel is an extremely knowledgeable and professional doctor. I have experienced anxiety and insomnia for the last year and a half and as a mother of two I was nervous about cannabinoid medicines but Dr. Patel answered all of my questions at great length, we spoke for over an hour and I left with a confidence that I had made an informed decision in my healthcare and that I had been heard.
