I asked my mom today what she likes about living here, …she said, «the people who help me» — I agree — this place is wonderful — we found them through a referral agency who told me, «Amaryllis is the best» — our family agrees

I was not happy with this facility. Many of the items listed on this website NEVER happened. Board games? Never saw this! Outdoor excursions? Never saw this! Transportation? Never once was this an opportunity. I saw nothing there to keep them«busy and active» as stated on the site. There are only 2 staff to 6 residents and staff is answering phones, doing laundry, cooking and cleaning, monitoring meds while residents spend their day napping in another room. I witnessed a staff member telling a resident to sit in their chair and take a nap.(in other words sit and be still until we come and get you for lunch or dinner) AND the picture on this website is NOT the actual facility. We had so many issues with sanitation, language barrier with staff, not so patient staff members, falls of residents, not monitoring residents more closely and so much more. My family member had a number of issues happen and we could not determine if it was the fault of the staff not being careful or what. Gloves were not changed between taking one resident to bathroom and handling the nose of another resident. While I am sure they were«doing their best» it was not good enough for my family member and I would guess yours. Since they do not have«overnight» staff to monitor any ambulatory resident that might get up in the night — there is an added fee of 200.00PERNIGHT — per resident for a nighttime person. Be sure you understand this BEFOREHAND. If your family member needs to be on hospice while at the home there is an added fee for that too on top of your monthly fee. On a good note… the place was spotless and kept that way throughout our stay there.
