The Apartments of St. Charles

I have rented from The Apartments of St. Charles for numerous years. Right now I am going through my second transfer process and both leasing agents I dealt were great! Right now I deal with Terrence Davis and he has been very professional and keeps up with the communication. If your ever looking to lease through them ask for Terrence, I’m very picky with customer service but he has not failed me in that area.

I love where I live but the lease offices need some big improvement. Costumer service is way off track. I am not looking for any free service. I believe the yo guys need to keep up at the level of the place where I live. Again, I love where I live, expensive but I don’t mind to pay the extra. Now I can’t say the same about the lease offices.

I was looking for apartments in Waldorf and went into the leasing office with my cousins and sister. Not one person working there out of about 6 even stopped to say hello. It was busy but no excuse for poor customer service. After waiting for an hour or so someone gave us brochures to look at but was standoffish when I asked a question. Another hour passed and I spoke with another rude worker. Finally when we went to see the apartments and the lady who took us around was less than helpful. A co-​worker had a similar experience there. It’s a shame since that leasing office supports majority of the apartments in Waldorf. I didn’t like the 2 apartmentsI was shown but didn’t even bother to come back the next week to look at more because I was so turned off. Good customer service is imperative.

I’ve been staying one of the properties for only 3 months now and I love my area and building and the proximity to shopping, parks and trails. My issue is with the leasing office. They are rude and disrespectful. I have an issue with paying my rent on
and they made it seem like it was fault that I was locked out and not able to pay my rent on time. When in actuality someone in accounts receivable had neglected to unblock my account from the previous month. All they are concerned with is collecting your hard earned money only to receive subpar customer service. They are also asking that I pay $ 40.00 to add my fiancé to my lease. Although he originally applied for the apartment with me and had his background and credit checked back in January, they are asking for more money because apparently his paperwork expired. Of course no one told me that the paperwork would expire at all. I wrote a letter to Kettler Management and they have yet to reply to the letter. I also complained about the very loud construction noise near the Gleneagles, Sheffield and The Nines apartment building. The construction wakes me up every weekend morning by 7am! And during the week it’s the same thing! Luckily I’m already on my way to work by 7 but I feel bad for those who don’t have to get up that early. Not only is it the construction sounds but it’s the VERY loud trucks coming in and out of the construction site. Of course no one informed us that they would be building a new complex because if they did I would have probably settled on an apartment further away from the site. This was brought to Kettler and the leasing office’s attention to either have the construction start later or give a conssesion on the rent until the construction is done. Again not response at all because again they just want your hard earned money. I would not recommend renting with any Kettler Management property or the Apartment of St. Charles. I’ll be glad when my lease is up so I can run far away from them. Customer service and peace of mind is EVERYTHING and they don’t have it nor will you find it here. At least not until the construction is done!

I am very disgusted and disappointed with the Apartments of St. Charles. Although I signed the lease on September 18, 2013, I actually moved in on the 4^th of October. On the 6^th of October, I purchased a brand new Ultra Book Laptop from Bestbuy and placed it in my room. On the 8^th of October, I left the premises for school and work. While off of the premises, I received a service visit from maintenance to take a look at the hall shower. Upon returning to my apartment in the late evening, I discovered the laptop and additional contents within the bag had been stolen. The bag was completely removed from the apartment. I contacted both, the Apartments of St. Charles Maintenance and Resident Services Departments and was told to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Dept. On the morning of October 9^th I filed a report with the Charles County Sheriff’s Department. However, this is so unacceptable and disheartening. I work hard for what I have and was told by the maintenance administration that they’d like to believe that their maintenance technicians don’t steal and background checks have been conducted. In my profession as a law enforcement officer, I know very well that background checks only include information that has been documented. They do not prove that a person is dishonest or a THIEF. As of this date, I have not even gotten as much as an apology on behalf of the Apartments of St. Charles for my negative experience. I have had to pay out of my pocket, a deductible for an insurance claim that I should not have had to file. I am so upset that I chose this particular community, much less signed a year lease. I will not ever recommend the Apartments of St. Charles to anyone, based upon the way that I have been treated. If you choose to move in, please beware and get a security system and/​or surveillance cameras immediately!!!
