This review is based on our first puppy starter session! Tammy was awesome and so good with our little monsters! She stayed in constant contact with me before the session which made me feel comfortable and when she got to our place the dogs automatically attracted to her. She left me with so much knowledge and things to work with the dogs on. It was amazing to see what they caught on to with only their first session. We definitely cannot wait to start our puppy kindergarten classes! She is very reasonably priced and we definitely will continue to use her! Thanks Tammy!

Months ago, I took my dog, Airmid, to the Totally Reliable Recall class. Not only will she come right to me on the one chosen word, since then, she pees on command before I bring her in at night. (Yeah, I wouldn’t believe it either if I didn’t see it.)
Last week, the yard guys left one back gate WIDE open, so she «toured» the neighborhood. Luckily, one of my neighbors, with whom she is very familiar, saw her and called her to him. He was pleasantly surprised when she not only came to him, but she followed him as he walked her home. He got to my door and exclaimed, «I didn’t even need a leash!»
For that, the class was worth EVERY penny. I look forward to next year because I won’t have to work on Saturdays again, and I’m hoping to enroll Airmid in agility classes.

Can’t say enough about the tender loving care my pups get when they are boarded with their «Auntie» Tammy! I have three small dogs, and I travel a lot, so it was not easy to find a place for all of them — - but I am so glad to now be able to board on a regular basis with Doggie Adventures! The facilities are very clean, and my boys have a ton of space to run around and play outside. They also have their own sleeping area where they can enjoy their toys and blankies from home. Tammy has even accommodated their love of sleeping on chairs outside, giving each of them a cushion so their naps are extra comfy! My travel schedule is crazy, so it makes me feel so much better knowing that my boys are loved and well cared for — — Tammy frequently sends me pics and updates while I’m gone, which is awesome! Now when I travel, instead of my pups being sad when they see my suitcase come out, they are super excited to hop in the truck because they know they are going to see their «auntie» while mom is gone! Thanks Tammy, for loving my boys just as much as I do! :)

My review of this place actually straight up stinks now. Since posting my original review Tammy has debated me on everything I’ve said and constantly avoids any accountability. This is totally not good business and shows that her main concern is her image and making money. She has called me and emailed me multiple times, then not responded when I have replied. Now months after my review she responds on Unilocal.
In her response to my review she has multiple discrepancies that do not align with reality. Tammy herself stated our dog may have gotten sick from eating ROTTEN mangoes in her yard, this means our puppy was at times left unattended and ingested food that could make her sick. This is totally unacceptable from a place that is paid to take care of dogs. Additionally Tammy herself called us to ask us to pick up our dog early as she didn’t believe our puppy needing training as much as she just needed to exercise tons… yet Tammy still charged us for the full boarding time of one week. Yes, Tammy did talk to us for a whole half hour after we picked our dog up in the early AM of the 6^th day of boarding but that didn’t magically make us all travel through time to the 7^th day.
As for puppy kindergarten supposedly costing $ 112.50…well I hope I get a partial refund because the check I was told to write, and that was cashed, was for $ 151.84. Plus my puppy didn’t even finish the class because she got sick while being boarded at Tammy’s.
Freakin’ ridiculous.

I am posting this a year later because I just received a response from the owner. In the owner’s response (Tammy), she apologizes, provides a few excuses, and then quickly requests that I remove my review because it is damaging her «five star» rating. Then she says she’ll offer a $ 25 discount if I remove my review. If it were possible, I would give the company zero stars because asking a potential customer to remove a review suggests poor business and personal ethics.

My young super-​charged boxer and I loved working with Tammy. She’s not stuck on one way to work, but gave us tools that we were comfortable with and could use. Maddy is so much improved. We highly recommend Tammy!

Tammy is awesome!
My fiancé and I enrolled our dog in boarding school for eight days while we took a trip to a neighbor island. Before we left, we told Tammy that Yoshi seemed submissive and scared around other dogs, and that was one of the areas we hoped she could help us with. When we got back, Yoshi was so well behaved, she played well with others, and it was just obvious that she had a great time. After spending over an hour with Tammy as she went over what Yoshi had learned and what we could do to further the process, we felt so happy in our initial investment that we did not hesitate when she told us that Yoshi might be good for her Puppy Class, and so we signed up immediately.
Unfortunately, Yoshi got a little sick from all the treats she had eaten the day before (when we were practicing her new behaviors) so when we got to Puppy Class the next day, she wasn’t feeling well. Despite that, though, Yoshi was still much more outgoing, confident, and comfortable around the other dogs than before her time with Tammy. My fiancé and I have put into practice many of the recommendations that Tammy gave us, and Yoshi is responding well. She comes when called, and she sits, stays, and lies down when prompted — for the most part, these are all new behaviors that she learned while with Tammy.
Yet, the icing on the cake is that Tammy’s care for Yoshi did not end when her boarding ended. Instead, she has emailed me since to ask how Yoshi is doing — is she feeling better, has her behavior changed, is she more food-​motivated. Not only is she a great teacher for dogs, but she genuinely cares about each and every one of them that she comes in contact with. Tammy, together with the other woman (I’m sorry that I do not remember her name right now), are truly fantastic and make you feel like you and your dog are truly special.

Very clean and the dogs go wild when they see there friends for doggie play dates.

I thought this course was good. We took our dog to the Puppy Class. We were able to teach him socialization and other basic skills like sit and stay. Since it was a puppy class, there wasn’t any real format to it since the puppies were learning to socialize with one another. The only small thing I would note is there is rolling admissions so people come and go during the 5 weeks your there so you tend to go over some things again rather than moving on to the next thing. Overall, a good class for puppies and very reasonably priced. =)

Canine agility is the ultimate game for you and your dog. It provides physical exercise, bonding of the dog and handler, socializing with other dogs and people, and the mental stimulation of solving a puzzle by successfully completing the agility course.
Agility is a dog sport in which the human handler directs the dog through an obstacle course in a race for both time and accuracy. Dogs run off-​leash, and the handler cannot touch the dog or the obstacles. The handler cues the dog with voice, movement, and signals, which requires close coordination and extensive training.
We have been clients of Doggie Adventures and Training for almost two years. First in obedience, then in agility. I was pleasantly surprised that agility was an excellent follow-​up to obedience training, because it really strengthened the obedience skills by requiring us to put them to work in the field, off leash.
At Doggie Adventures & Training, agility is strictly for fun. After a year of taking classes once a week, my dog and I are novices but not beginners. Under the instruction of owner/​trainer Tammy, we developed a basic skil level but had reached a plateau because there are no advanced level classes. Recently, the classes have been taken over by a new-​to-​us instructor, Ingrid, whose knowledge of agility is literally world class.
Training with Ingrid, while still fun, is a whole new world. Unlike Tammy, Ingrid is an agility competitor. She brings a very different perspective to training, offering expert instruction that allows us to learn much just in a short time. I have been amazed at her ability to observe our interactions with our dogs and in a flash explain how to improve. She is wonderful!
Agility classes are currently offered on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. There is a beginner class that trains the dog on the equipment, followed by an agility handler’s class that trains the human. Sessions are eight weeks in duration.
