History
Established in 1902.
Stewart & Stevenson, established in Houston, Texas in 1902, has provided power products for commercial, industrial and military applications since acquiring a GM diesel engine distributorship in 1938. Over the years, Stewart & Stevenson established partnerships with world-class manufacturers, including Allison Transmission, Atlas Copco, Daimler, Detroit, DEUTZ, Electro-Motive Diesel, Hyster, MTU and MTU Onsite Energy. Today we supply engines, transmissions, generators, air compressors and material handling products, along with aftermarket parts and service, to the on and offshore oil and gas, marine, transportation, power generation, construction, industrial, material handling, mining and agricultural markets. In addition to more than 130 Hyster lift truck models, we offer Manitou rough terrain forklifts, Cushman industrial and utility vehicles, UTILEV utility trucks for light to medium-duty operating environments, and Rail King railcar movers in single and double-coupled versions.
