What a disgusting, run down, heap of an apartment complex. After a nearly a year here, you could not pay me to stay any longer.
I’ll say that the staff is very friendly and generally helpful. The price right for what you pay for, so caveat emptor. The dryer is the best dryer I have ever used… not one of these energy efficient modern things but a true heat blasting, eco trashing, furnace of a dryer. The kind that makes your jeans fit like like they never fit before.
1. The grounds are covered in dog droppings. There’s no enforcement of pet policies. Step off the sidewalk, and you’ll step in dog poo. Lazy residents with neglected pets won’t walk the additional ten steps to the provided waste stations. And management won’t do anything about those residents. It’s truly disgusting.
2. The trees are so overgrown that only a few parking spots exist that don’t sit under one. Your car is guaranteed to be covered in bird droppings most of the time. And good luck finding any spot during a basketball game, homecoming, etc. Parking is not enforced, and the complex is not gated.
3. 1965 called and wants its fixtures back. Cheap laminated counters, grotesque cabinets, etc. Appliances that appear older than I am, and I’m no spring chicken. Except for that dryer. Love that dryer.
4. THE NOISE. Every move your neighbor makes, every step he takes, every cough he makes… You hear everything. Now, I’m not a sensitive fellow who is easily disturbed by a bit of noise. But this was excessive. And this is disappointing because the office assured me that the complex, being significantly populated by graduate students, was very quiet. LIES. Had to call the police multiple times for noise issues late at night… parties and such well past 2am. Never got a response from the office related to it despite multiple complaints. But Waco PD response time is less than 5 minutes so that’s a positive.
4. The office walks your apartment after you leave and then assesses you «cleaning charges.» And every unit is charged a carpet shampoo fee… even if you live like a normal human being and don’t trash your living space. It’s a total racket.
Live somewhere else. Especially if you’re a graduate student. Your GPA and sanity will thank you. Unless you’re a lazy and neglectful pet owner… then this is the perfect place for you!
