European Motorsports Porsche & Bmw Repair

I had a clutch and flywheel installed on Feb 17^th in my Porsche 997. Cameron was very helpful before over the phone, during the visit and completing the transaction. He even fixed some unrelated things with the car while there.
As I was about to drive cross country, having someone I trust go over the car meant a lot. This folks know Porsches inside and out. If you are even considering a repair or service, just stop by and talk to them. They are there for the love of the cars and it shows.

Needed a clutch done on my 2001 Porsche 996 Carrera. I always do my research when dropping a substantial amount of money. After shopping around to all the nearby Porsche shops and talking to the service advisers, it was clear that Cameron (service adviser) and European Motorsports was the best choice to work on my Porsche. Cameron was a very likable and genuine honest person. He was very good at keeping me informed about the status of my vehicle. His knowledge of Porsche was impressive. The mechanics did a great job on my car. The clutch works amazing and I look forward to my next service at European Motorsports. This is coming from someone who had been a tech and a service adviser for many years. Thank you Cameron and techs.

Incredible service at a reasonable price!
I’ve been driving for over thirty years and been to many repair shops along the way and never have I been as satisfied as I am with European Motorsports. Honest people with a great service manager and mechanic.
I usually don’t care for service managers because they tend to oversell and not really know what they are talking about; European’s Cameron Clayton definitely does not fit that mold. I had a big job that involved an engine and tranny drop on a new to me dream Porsche 964. I bought the car near Vista but live in NorCal and wanted the work done before I drove it home. European was recommended by the seller so I rolled the dice hoping for the best. Wow what a pleasant surprise– Cameron and I discussed the repairs which even involved powder coating out side their shop, special oils, welding… worked up an estimate and started the job. Now comes the good part– first I know 964s really well and what’s involved with the requested repairs– when talking to Cameron I was surprised and impressed that he actually knew in great depth what was involved with the various repairs– that’s exceptional (he has a 993 that he apparently has worked on). Second, this being a special and brand new car for me I was extremely interested in every step and would probably be considered a high maintenance customer. Cameron was a star in communicating with me– I requested and received pictures of the process almost daily. He was always responsive to my inquiry emails… I also talked with the mechanic, Phil, about his progress and thoughts about the condition of the car. How often can one actually talk to the mechanic on the phone?
When all the work was completed the price was the same as the estimate (no surprises) and was way more reasonable than the shop rates up here in NorCal, I was also impressed with their rate for parts– not a huge mark up like I’ve seen in other places. It has been several months now since Phil did the work and I’m pleased to say that everything he repaired is really repaired/​fixed. I’ve had no issues with the work done.
I know this is a glowing review but my experience with European was so positive it warrants it. My only compliant is that they are not up here in NorCal.

Cameron is the BEST!!!
I thought I was having transmission issues on my BMW X3 that I had just bought used from a dealer in Orange County. He ran the diagnostics on it for FREE!!! Everyone else I called wanted $ 125 – 180 for the 4 min. test. It came back with just a gas cap issue and that I misread the light on the dash. I’m an idiot!!! Cameron ordered the new gas cap for me, and I will see him tomorrow and whenever I have any other issues with my new BMW. This shop earned a customer for life.

I used to take my Audi A3 here for anything I couldn’t do myself. I lucked out in finding this place. I used to drive up from San Diego, and then later down from LA when I moved, just to get my car serviced here. They aren’t cheap, but they aren’t overpriced either. You can tell it’s a good place just by walking into the shop… It is IMMACULATE to say the least. Joe runs a tight shop and you can definitely feel and see the difference. I’ve walked into so many nightmare shops where there is car grease and dust everywhere and nothing seems to have its place. Unfortunately I do not own my Audi anymore but I wish I did for the assurance of knowing where I would go to get all my maintenance needs.
Joe (owner) and Cameron are very knowledgeable and friendly. They let you know what your car needs, and don’t pressure you to fix things that aren’t absolute necessities unless you want them to (Good maintenance goes a long way). I really don’t have anything bad to say about this place. I never even had close to a bad experience and I would call myself a fairly particular person.
They appreciated my military service and would take care of me within reason where they could. I’ve had other places laugh at me just for asking if they took care of military at all.
If you own a European car and want/​need a place to rely on to keep it running smooth on the road, it would be a bad idea to go anywhere but here I promise you.
One note is that they are very busy because they are a good shop, so if it’s a regular maintenance type of need it’s best to call ahead and schedule an appointment with good advance.
Additional note: One time they under quoted me for a price on a job, and when they realized they had they didn’t hassle me at all or tell me I needed to pay what they should have quoted me. They didn’t even blink, they just said well that’s what we quoted you. I don’t know a single other shop that would handle the same situation that way and not give you a hard time.

This is one of the best automotive experiences I have ever had. The gentlemen that I dealt with at the shop were extremely friendly & professional.
I called first to discuss an oil pressure warning light that flashed during my drive to work in my VW. Cameron was extremely helpful & put my concerns at ease. A few minutes later I brought my car in to be inspected & then we would decide what the best plan of action would be in terms of repairs. He found that the previous shop I was getting my oil changes at, were under filling because of a broken dipstick. They ordered the parts, replaced them, changed my oil, replaced some seals, and fixed an upside down part that was again, installed incorrectly at the other shop.
I picked my car up in the afternoon & the car has been running so much better than it has in quite some time. It was so refreshing to be spoken to with respect — since I am rather ignorant when it comes to cars, I tend to feel like a lot of shops try and oversell or just down right speak to me like I am stupid. Going forward, this will be first choice shop for all my automotive needs.

You can always trust Cameron and the crew to give you excellent service. Diagnosis is always right on, straight forward, no BS, fair pricing and over the top care. What more could you ask for?

what can I say? it is a nice shop and thank god honest! for a change. I now have a friend who does most of my repairs who lives near this shop. His wife has the same beamer as mine. He repairs both of them, but when he doesn’t have the equipment to repair his wife’s car he takes it to European Motorsports (EM). So, there was an issue with my car that my mechanic could not do. They were courteous and I never felt like I got the runaround (see previous review of Evil BMW repair shop I used to go to that is ran by the devil incarnate.) Anyhow, Joe said his computer crashed which caused a delay… no problems… haven’t we all computer problems from hell? Ok… they did a good job at a reasonable price. Would recommend.

Joe and his team are always available to ask questions, give honest answers, and extremely fair prices. They have taken care of our cars, including our kid’s cars and we have the utmost trust in their work and prices.

Used European Motorsports again with my vehicle, 2007 Porsche 911. They replace front and rear brakes pad and rotors. There price was almost $ 500.00 cheaper than the dealership. Vehicle was done in one day and they gave a ride to work and pick me up! Staff was great.

Joe and his crew are awesome. No one else would touch my car. The most reliable and honest mechanic I’ve ever come across. Simply the best. This John W sounds like a pissed off competitor. Nothing like the people I know personally.

Had problem with my Porsche that there’s lingering gasoline smell inside the car. Brought to another so-​called European specialist in the area, they steamed clean the car and charged me $ 150. Of course the problem still persists, after much research, I found European Motorsports @ Vista, CA and they were able to pinpoint the problem and fixed it. These guys know what they are doing. No BS. Reasonable prices. Great work ethics. And never tired of my questions. Don’t be fooled by mere pleasantness from other places. You know you’ve found a great mechanic when your car runs well.

Recently had the front brakes on my ’98 Boxster done at European Motorsports.
Upon showing up for my appointment Joe, the owner, who had already been courteous, competent and helpful on the phone, checked the actual status of my rotors and pads, front and rear, before ordering parts.
The work was done promptly, the service was outstanding, and the bill came to $ 50 below estimate, and totalled about 40 per cent less than what the Porsche dealership would have charged.
In conclusion, finally an independent Porsche mechanic worth returning to.

Excellent service, even better prices. They wont give you an estimate for fake problems with your car. Owners name is Joe and he also is one of the Mechanics. Knows what he is talking about.
