Sandbridge Island Restaurant & Raw Bar

We have been here a couple times since my first review and as we have tried more items the more disappointed we become. We have tried the flounder sandwich, fajitas and the clam chowder and overall these items have been just average. Therefore, I am downgrading this review to 3 stars.

We had the worst experience. There was an hour before closing and the staff made us feel like we were a huge inconvenience when we wanted to order a few beers. If you aren’t a local and looking for a good time then go somewhere else. Just to note, I am writing this review at a 10:00 on a Saturday night.

There are few things I miss about living in Virginia Beach, but this restaurant is definitely one of them.
For starters, the location of this place is awesome! After a long, hot day at the beach it’s perfect to be able to just walk over and eat a great meal. The food options are pretty run of the mill, diner-​ish but also very good. I’ve never had the seafood, but if you’re a fan I’ve heard it’s great! The hush puppies are my favorite! The beer selection is normally pretty good as well with quite a few craft beer selections on tap. I always appreciate when a diner has more than just Miller Lite and Budweiser on tap.
Plus, no matter how many people I was with, it was pretty easy to get a table even when it was busy. Every server I had was great too. Never had to ask for drink refills and never had an issue with my order. They also have very reasonable prices, especially for being on the beach and in a touristy area.

I’m a local resident visiting Sandbridge regularly. I was treated with hostile disrespect by an employee over my parking spot (where I was told to park by the lot attendant). Even though I explained the situation, he yelled at me and stormed off. I moved my vehicle. But, needless to say, I will never do business there again.

Would not pick up the phone. Refused to take our take-​out order in person (because we couldn’t get them on the phone). Tried to make it easier and break it up into a few orders to lighten the load on the kitchen. Couldn’t handle our party in the dining area in any sort of reasonable time. If you’re going to be the flagship restaurant in any area be prepared to be flexible or sink under the weight of horrible reviews. Never going back.

The food is terrible. Frozen everything!!! If you are on vacation u should drive 15 minutes to get a decent meal. I’ve eaten here probably five times and the food has always been sub par.

Nice local spot for Sandbridge. The food is decent and of course they have a full bar. The tuna bites, sb burger & mozzarella sticks are good. The sauce on the burger and sauce for tuna bites is really good. We came 4−11−15 and you may need some fly traps. I love local dice spots that have great food, but great service is also key. The service has been good the times I have come, but some are better than others. I guess we all have our favorites. Stop in while you are here and check it out for yourselves. The drop ceiling should and needs to be replaced. We will be back!

Oysters Rock!
Every year my family (including the the three goldens) spend a week ocean front on island time… This little shack in the sand has an amazing section of craft beers and the food is really good. Now what earns them four stars. The southern charm and the recipes. You can schedule a delivery hours in advance. They deliver bar items too. My wife and I enjoy the Oysters Rock every day, a done each. Today the teens enjoyed the bar’b’que wings.

The bar was awesome… Had a very knowledgeable and friendly bartender. The tuna sandwich was really good.
