We’ve visited Pollards chicken before but usually my husband went in to order. Yesterday was a long day of errands so anything looked delicious. I went in and politely asked for some clams and asked how large is their servings. I had three teens to feed and two adults and the menu mostly addressed value meals. She said«regular size!», and I asked again«about how large is that?», she says«small». So I motion with my hands a size and she didn’t have a clue. Finally I said, «I’m sorry but I’ve never ordered the clams off the menu, I need an idea of size, and she says rudely«Well it ain’t gonna fill you up!» I wanted to leave, but my hubby came off 24 hour shift and we had errands all day. I finally said give me four orders, and she mumbled about it not being allowed or something. This young lady very clearly didn’t want to serve me, so I handed it over to my husband and he ordered two bags of food. I will never give them service again, we are hard working folks, both veterans and respectful to everyone, whether she didn’t like how I look or just hates her job, it was rude and uncalled for! To top it off the food wasn’t great all the flavored blended together Bojangles taste better.

Got to check this place out if you want some Great fried chicken, home style soul food. Good food for a good price. They also serve livers and gizzards which is a plus for me.

Pollards Chicken is one of those places we past by all the time and say we’re going to try but never got the chance to do so or forgot about. Saturday, we finally got to! We got the 12 piece dinner with 2 sides. Came with these hush puppies and honey, it was delicious! We also got mashed potatoes, green beans and add an extra side which was cole slaw. I thought the gravy to the taters were good, green beans were umm. green beans– lacked flavor. Im not a fan of cole slaw so i didn’t try it. So lets talk chicken. Chicken was lightly battered– CRISPY!!! It was like 10 mins from the restaurant to my bf’s parents house and it maintained its crispiness. I’m excited to try it again. This time hot and fresh! Will be returning :)

Great fried chicken. Lightly battered, crispy and juicy. The side dishes are good too. Will be back next year or the next time I’m in the VA. Aloha

Had my mouth fixed up for some fried chicken… Hardee’s or Pollards? Went with Pollards. Cashier messed their own value meal and charged me extra my drink. Tried to get that fixed but the math was too difficult for two employees to figure out. Chicle was good, not great. Had fries as a side only got half a portion. Check the pic. Next time I’m going to Hardee’s.

Not sure what it is about this place that has me coming back every week, but I do say that they have some of the best fried chicken I’ve had. The greens are pretty good as well. Sunday’s are usually the day I get to this place, but I might need to change day’s due to the high volume of customers they feed on Sunday’s.
