Kobe Sushi Japanese Steak House

I have visited this location twice now. The first time I visited was about a month ago with a large group and it was amazing! Service was awesome!
I decided to visit on Monday, June 8, 2016. We arrived around 7:00 PM and decided to take some friends with us. Soup was awesome! Salad was awesome! Chef was awesome! (We had fried rice, shrimp, filet, vegetables, and chicken) All of the food was awesome except for the chicken.
Our problem was the service. So the server only came around one time. (Note there was absolutely nobody in the place!) The chicken that two of us got was so rubbery and chewed. It actually sounded like paper ripping when you pulled it apart! Some pieces were so hard they would not even cut! I have to say, it actually was not the chef’s cooking! It was truly the quality of the chicken!
Upon mentioning to our server after we flagged her down, the chef came back out. We let him know right away it was not him, but the quality of the chicken. He or our server disappeared and never came back. After about 10 min, a member of our party went into the main area to ask for the check and discuss the quality of the chicken further. She had to go to the back and talk with the «manager» on duty. We could hear him yelling very loud at her about the issue. She kept going back and forth asking questions and he continued to raise his voice often.
The waitress finally came back to offer basically one meal free. This covered only one chicken dish. The other person who had chicken and steak was not covered in the reduction in the check amount. Also, the manager never spoke with us, apologized, or even showed his face. For a place that literally had nobody there, this was not acceptable. Hearing how the manager treated the waitress is just not acceptable! It was truly awful.
At this point I would need a replacement dinner for 4 with better service and frequent checks from this same manager in order to ensure the dining experience goes well to return. (I will pay for everything but the chicken on a replacement meal.) I’m not a person who wants things for free, but I do want a meal with excellent service… actually top notch… never an empty glass… and anyone who has chicken gets just the chicken portion for free. I don’t think that is an unreasonable request.
While I wanna be fair in the food rating, the service was just awful… The poor waitress! Everyone in our party is truly considering placing an EEOC complaint for her. This manager dude needs to give me a call to discuss his service. In fact, he should pay for our next meal and let the waitress join us for dinner! He was truly awful!

We eat the sushi regularly and are never disappointed. The Kani Su is our favorite appetizer. We have only had the hibachi meals on pick-​up orders, but it has always been delicious and the servings are huge.

The sushi here are very good and fresh. Friendly and good service. bonus!!! There is a 50% off on selected sushi a la cart and rolls.

Absolutely love this place. I have been here about 5 or 6 times and every time and I am never let down. There seems to never be a wait (which is awesome!) and service is fantastic. I have never sat down for just the sushi, I always go for the hibachi cause who doesn’t love good food like that. I really like when there is never anyone else and you get you’re own chef to cook you’re food :) at this point, I’m surprised the staff doesn’t recognize my friend and I cause we are always in there for the hibachi. I recommend this hibachi place to anyone.

Waited long to be seated while it wasn’t busy. then it took about a ½ hour for them to take our order, 30 mins after that they still haven’t brought out my sushi, or started the grill.

I ordered a bento lunch box as well as 1 California roll as well as the hibachi chicken lunch to have for dinner. Pretty much the simplest things you can order. The California roll was terrible. The crab stick was actually hard and the rice was not very sticky at all. The waitress had to be asked several times to get cups of water, condiments etc. I had to go to the sushi bar in order to get Sriracha. Needless to say I will never return to this restaurant due to the terrible service I received and the poor quality of food. Don’t waste your money or time on this place. I’ve had better sushi from my favorite buffet in the area.

This place advertises 50% off sushi on their store window and menu, but don’t be discouraged thinking that it’s bad sushi! I’d say it’s a few steps up higher than buffet sushi, without all the extra rice added to fill you up. At $ 2-​$ 4 a roll? That works for me!
The restaurant is split into to sections: hibachi and the sushi bar. I’ve only had their hibachi once, and it was pretty standard to me. But every time I’ve gone, it’s never really been too busy in there. People really want to come for the sushi. They also have a full kitchen menu for when you don’t want to sit by the grill, and they offer dessert like tempura fried green tea ice cream or fried cheesecake! I know, it is as crazy as it sounds, but sooo good!
The only downfall is that this place closes for lunch, which is the only time I ever want to eat sushi!

Good sushi and hibachi-​just good. Not disappointing though. The hibachi is delicious. The 50% off rolls ordered and at in house is great.

Excellent service and food. Always friendly and polite. Never had to wait long for my food and we have been going there for a few years.

We waited almost 30 minutes to be seated then almost another to get our orders taken. It still gets 3 stars because the food was tasty

I am not giving this as many stars based on the service. We walked in at 9:00pm on a Friday night and it was dead. We were told we had to wait until the table got full. We also had to sit in specific seats (not where we wanted).
The salad and dressing was very good. The dressing was different than anything I have had. I loved it.
The soup was standard but very tasty.
We got the «special» fried rice with our order. It is rice mixed with Sirach and yum yum sauce. Get it! It is worth the extra $ 1.50! The chicken was good and tasty. I loved the steak; the quality of it was excellent. I ordered an extra side of fried rice, it was not needed. They give you plenty!
They need to get a wine list for the restaurant. Their menu just said red and white? It did not indicate what type of wine it was.
The chef was ok. He was not very energetic or funny. He also did not throw shrimp at us to catch. That’s the best part of doing hibachi!
Besides the service being questionable, I would definitely go back for the food.

The place was empty for weeknight dinner ink there Hibachi area. I would say it was OK, staff was friendly and food portions were large. Plenty of food for leftovers. My 2 boys loved it though.

Good food, great atmosphere, fair prices… Couldn’t ask for more! Satisfied customer I will be returning

This place is great. My boyfriend and I go at least once a week. They always greet us quickly and sit us with a smile and already knowing what we want to drink. The sushi chef is amazing. He always gives us something on the house. Of all the sushi places I have been this one is at the top. Great fish, great atmosphere, and great prices. This will always be the go to!

It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad either. The food was good and the service was mediocre. The ambiance of the place really didn’t have that great of a vibe. If my girlfriend wants sushi, that’s where she goes because its close to her work. I wouldn’t drive the extra 10 minutes and pass 10 other places if it was up to me.

Good place for lunch, half price on sushi!

It’s actually pretty good for the price. If you’re looking for some $ 3 sushi rolls this is your place. Not the best, def not the worst.
They chef was really good. He didn’t try to do so much of the gimmicky stuff, probably because there were no kids at our table. We’ve been with our kids before and it gets beyond silly, so I was glad they change up the act based on customers.
Probably the only hibachi place that you can keep your bill under $ 60 for two people, including 3 sushi rolls and a drink.
For the price, you can’t beat them!

You know what they say, you get what you pay for! I’d have to say that this place is just «OK». I usually go here when I don’t want to put a dent in my wallet on sushi and take advantage of their ½ off sushi menu. Their ½ off menu consist of your basic sashimi/​sushi/​rolls including, (spicy) salmon, (spicy) tuna, california, cucumber, shrimp tempura, & a few «special» rolls like their volcano roll. I have to admit, this place makes great volcano rolls. There’s something about the batter that gives it this buttery (?) taste. I’d have to say it’s possibly my favorite.
Anyways, when it comes to their service — they’re alright. They’re not as friendly and cheerful has other restaurants. But yeah, if you’re looking for your basic rolls at half the price, I’d say check this place out.

The food is good. The service is mediocre. The host was unfriendly and she hates her job.
We had the hibachi. While the chef cooked the food perfectly, he made us a bit uncomfortable with his remarks about Chinese people and several homophobic comments.
I may go back, I’m not for sure.
