Melinda Mielock, owner of DancinMis, LLC., is a professional dance instructor specializing in Ballroom & Latin dancing in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area!

Certain dances may not be for everyone, but dancing in general is able to provide you with both health and enjoyment. Melinda offers both group and private lessons at Just Dance On, Ballroom and Latin Dance Studio, located just off of Virginia Beach Blvd.

While proficient in both American and International styles of Ballroom and Latin dance, Melinda excels in American style, which will provide a strong foundation for any beginner dancer.

Regardless of the event or reason, whether it is social, competitive, wedding, health or just for fun, Melinda can help you achieve your personal goals. Unlike big expensive franchised studios, Melinda allows for a more flexible method of teaching, which is customized to fit your needs and budget.

Just Dance On Ballroom and Latin Dance Studio now offers classes in Zumba Fitness. Melinda is licensed by Zumba Fitness, LLC. and a member in good standing with the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN).

History

Established in 2014.

Melinda Mielock has danced professionally in and around Virginia, including Pro/​Am competitions, and taught in the Hampton Roads area for 18 years. She has instructed for many of the local studios, contributing greatly to the integrity and excitement of Ballroom and Latin Dancing, while working with social dancers and training showcase and competitive dancers. She competes professionally, attending regularly the Virginia State DanceSport Championships, held in Reston, VA, and has received numerous top teacher awards. Her passion is showcasing her students in Spotlight Performance and highlighting their accomplishments and hard work, both at the studio and local venues. Her biggest joy in dancing is transforming the Non-​Dancer into the best Dancer they can be.

Melinda has worked hard for her students and is proud to be able to provide the persoanlized instruction through her own business and studio her students very much deserve.

Melinda was born in Topeka, Kansas, spending most of her younger years growing up in both Topeka, Kansas City and Lawrence. She started dancing at the age of five and during that first dance class Melinda knew that dancing would always be a part of her life. She studied at numerous studios and under many great instructors, all of whom have made her into the dance professional she is today.

Melinda has participated in every United Way Dancing with Our Stars (DWOS) event from 2007 – 2010. She has enjoyed the challenge of making a non-​dancer into a performer and also in giving back to the community through this charitable event. In 2009, Melinda made her stage debut in the production of Ballroom; produced by the Virginia Musical Theatre, Inc.

Melinda has experience in all aspects of running a dance studio and when not dancing, Melinda enjoys singing and performing with the Virginia Coast Chorus and the Soundsation Quartet.
