My party ordered a steak salad, fish tacos, and shrimp. All were excellent in both preparation and presentation. The wait was short and the price was less than I expected. Recommended!

Very good dinner! Went here my last night, service is exceptional, there was outdoor music from next door and food is above and beyond touristy food, great seafood selection. The orange crush is amazing! Half price for happy hour

So by recommendation of a friend who used to work at the other Chix location, we went here for dinner(and because Waterman’s wait was ridiculous). Got seated close to the bathroom and our waitress kinda disappeared for a bit. I was really thirsty and she returned back with our alcoholic drinks and not our waters. I will say, they do have a good orange crush, with fresh OJ. We started with the hush puppies, which were perfect and not dry like many other places. The calamari, for someone who usually hates the stuff, was actually pretty nice. For my meal I got the Caesar salad with shrimp, my sister got the fried Atlantic cod, and my mom go the crab cakes. While we all thought our food was decent, I noticed a few things. The Atlantic cod is yes, fried, but it was a bit overly fried in my opinion and I honestly spit it out, grossed out by the taste. The shrimp on my salad were somewhere inbetween grilled and broiled, something I did not expect or enjoy. My moms crab cakes were extremely salty(but the mashed potatoes they came with were damn good). There are a lot of small things this place can do to improve their food. I’m not asking for anything fancy but just some things here or there.

The nachos appetizer was good. The draft beer was served in a cheap plastic cup. The fried shrimp dinner was overpriced at $ 19 and only received 7 regular sized shrimp. Will not return.

Came for a late dinner after a day on the beach… sat on the back patio to enjoy the fresh ocean air and live music. The host and the waitresses are very friendly. The back patio atmosphere is amazing; not cramped, great oceanfront breeze, and fire pits for those of us who are a little more cold natured. The menu has just enough options to not get overwhelmed. Several appetizers, seafood, beef, and chicken options, plus sandwiches and tacos. The«crush» drinks everyone ravs about are basically cocktails served over crushed ice, hence the name. I got the Strawberry Lemonade, not bad, pretty decent pour; keep in mind though, it is a big ol cup of ice so sip fast or order several. For dinner: the blackened tuna sandwich with fries, and cod tacos with chips. I ordered my tuna med-rare and it actually came out cooked to perfection. The portion was a little small and the flavor over all was pretty mild and borderline bland. So basically not 5 star dining, but definitely tasty and convenient enough for beach food. Our waitress Shea was great! Nice easy-breezy & comfortable location and atmosphere, good food.

Came here for HH and got to enjoy some unbelievable crushes. With my favorite being the grapefruit! The staff here are so friendly and upbeat. I went for the mozzarella sticks, I was told they are homemade. Who would’ve thought Mozzarella stick would be soooo good. My friend ordered the tuna wrap and again I was amazed at how good it was. I like the outside area, even more, when they have live bands playing throughout the summer. This helps attract some beautiful people when it’s warm out and there’s good music playing. If you ever get Cheyenne, make sure to treat her right, she’s an awesome waitress.

Found this gem while driving down the strip. Small joint but I imagine it gets pretty busy here throughout the summer and on the weekends. Valet out front. Menu has a wide selection and variety to satisfy all taste buds. Food quality is great and wait time was next to none. I think due to a small crowd tonight. I will come back again for sure.

Chix is over rated. The food was subpar. Seemed to be a lot of frozen foods. It was crowded because of an excellent location– but it had nothing that set itself apart. During the course of my meal I removed my flask and cellphone from my pocket for comfort. I went back within 5 minutes and the Manager had the audacity to open my flask and dump the contents before returning my property, citing it was against the law. I told him it wasn’t his call, nor did he have a legal right to do so. No matter, I refilled it immediately afterward. Chix, I won’t be going back for your overpriced frozen grub. Adiós.

Service was on point with Leah. Peel and eat shrimp was good and they know how to make good drinks. I’ll be a regular here.

Ate here today… Service was great! Food was tasty and prompt. We ate outside and had a nice breeze. Our teenage boys split the 11b shrimp steamer and had plenty of food to share/left over. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

Fun little place right on the Virginia Beach waterfront. It’s somewhat cramped, which makes it get loud easily so don’t come expecting to be able to have an intimate conversation. This spot has much more of a bar vibe than restaurant vibe. Don’t let that dissuade you from trying their seafood though, which is excellent. I had the king crab legs which was prepared and presented delightfully for a very good price. And despite how busy they were at the time we visited our food was prepared and brought reasonably fast. Somewhat limited beer selection on tap, but the rest of their bar has standard favorites.

Always fun to hang at Chix to eat dinner and have drinks! When your not expecting it… this place puts you in the mood to dance and enjoy your surroundings. This is actually my favorite place at the beach for the overall experience! Whatever time of day you choose to come you’ll probably enjoy the experience.

I’ve been here during all seasons and I can tell you year around that the Orange Crush drink is the one to go with! The staff is always nice and it’s a good restaurant to go to if you want to meet up with friends for happy hour and stay for dinner. It is my favorite restaurant on the Virginia Beach boardwalk and I usually go with the Salmon! Thumbs up and Bottoms Up! Enjoy hanging out at Chix!

I LOVED this place! We got there 5 minutes before the happy hour ended, and the girl at the bar took our orders really quick and everything came out fast and amazing! You have to order their signature drink Caribbean Crush or Orange Crush(something like that), which it consists of REAL orange juice and vodka… it was delicious and very refreshing! We also order a plate of wings with hot sauce from the happy hour menu and they were AMAZING! The sauce they use, is not the your everyday Louisiana hot sauce, it was actually kind of sweet with a hint of spice at the end. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Came here for lunch while on spring break vacation! Classic oceanside restaurant and bar that hits all the marks — entertainment in the form of numerous large and HD TVs, perfectly-sized menu(not too big, not too small), and beachy interior. There was a huge seating area outside that was very popular so we chose to sit inside to avoid a wait. Still a great atmosphere inside with the bar, booths, and TVs. Our waitress was great and she recommended the Caribbean Crush to me when I asked for something sweet. It was almost too sweet, which is a first for me — very strong OJ flavor. I finished it but opted for a strawberry margarita on the rocks as my second cocktail. Very strong and could barely taste the strawberry. Great if you want to get tipsy/drunk, bad if you’re like me and want a sweet beverage that happens to have alcohol in it! I got the cheeseburger with American cheese for my entrée and was very pleased with it. The burger was flavorful and juicy even without the cheese, which was perfectly melted, and the bun, which was buttery and warm. Others in my party had the crab cake and the burger with pepper jack cheese, and we’re both equally pleased with their meals. My sole complaint is about an issue we had trying to split checks — one in our party had had a drink at the bar before the rest of us had arrived, and when he asked to fuse his bar tab with his meal, it turned into a huge confusion. Somehow one of my drinks ended up on his tab, and from there on our it took almost half an hour to sort everything out. This was fine since we didn’t have anywhere to be but had it been under different circumstances I wouldn’t have been too happy! 4 out of 5 stars and I would definitely come here again for a delicious burger after a long, hot day at the beach.

Part of me judges how great a restaurant service based upon how fast they are able to bring out the baby high chair for the toddler. They brought it out within 30 seconds of asking for our 3 month year old. I really liked this place for a couple of major important other reasons: 1. Orange Crush — yes it is the local flare, but they honestly make it better than most in my opinion. 2. The décor — classy enough where you don’t feel like you are in another rando touristy place or youth outrage establishment… but not too ridiculous where you feel it is too tacky. 3. The food — it was good and fresh — but nothing to send home postcards about. The serving sizes are rather hearty — but not Texas ridiculous. We ordered the seafood feast and hushpupples… which were all delicious… but nothing beyond standard… I wish that had some more unique flavorings. Oh and… good luck parking overall… this is a victory though… oh and all the bathrooms I could find was unisex…

I’m a bit torn… The food was good. The food was mostly good. The chili cheese fries were actually sparse on the cheesiness. Either that or they overlooked it to make the cheese hard. Everything else was perfectly temperatured, a good size and delicious. We had a large group. And by large, there were 20 of us. At no fault of our own, only one server was assigned to us with assistants to bring out food. The server, and I’m uncertain of her name, although pretty & very friendly, was not the best at timing & documentation. A few of the orders came out late or required reminders to receive as they were either entered in the system improperly or not at all. Water/drinks refilling had to be requested. She didn’t have time to check back on us, just time to take orders, bring food & clear the table. She also got a fit flustered when it came to the check. I honestly blame the manager. Given we were such a large group, someone should have assisted with the other tables instead of overwhelming her. I’m sure her faults were due to nervousness and not incompetence. Given this restaurant wasn’t perfect and the issues with service, I took away two stars. We are here on vacation and may return next year. We like the ambiance of the restaurant so we will most likely return next summer. I just hope service is better upon our return.

My boyfriend and I arrived in Virginia Beach late last night, and after hitting the pool at our hotel we decided we wanted to have a casual sit down dinner. I was in the mood for fish tacos. After checking on Unilocal we decided on this place. When we got there we were seated promptly. The staff of young ladies were very nice. However, I was a bit disappointed because from 10pm to 12am they didn’t offer a full menu. Which meant no fish tacos for me. I decided on a burger and my boyfriend got the beach nachos, both were amazing. Today for lunch we returned and ordered flounder and tuna tacos and they were also amazing. The service was exceptional. Waitress even remembered us from the night before, and their prices were good. I would recommend giving this place a try.
