Consistently decent ice cream. I think they charge a bit much for what they offer, but considering that there are so few places that serve quality good ol’ fashioned ice cream in Virginia Beach, its still worth paying. Overall, a decent option.

We went here after a walk along the Beach and decided this had the most selection of the many ice cream places along the strip. I ended up getting a peanut butter cup sundae. It was very yummy(as most things with chocolate and peanut butter are), but there was nothing unique about the sundae itself. The best part of Bruster’s was probably the smell as you walked by(sugary goodness)…I would come back here again if I was in the area, but I would not go out of my way to get there.

After wandering around the beach for a few hours we needed a cold, sugary pick me up. We’d never had Bruster’s before and there was no line so we figured why not? They had one of the longest ice cream menus on the main strip(right up there with Haagen Daz). I got a single dish of the cake batter($ 3 exactly), which was a LOT of ice cream for me, they really heaped it on. I didn’t end up finishing it. I was curious about the difference between cake batter and birthday cake, so one of the other girls ordered birthday cake. The only difference I saw was maybe some sprinkles and some blue swirly stuff that we guessed was frosting. Coldstone still has the best cake batter ice cream but Bruster’s would suffice if it was signifcantly closer.
