I am a huge custard fan and this is very good custard for a very reasonable price! I have only been once because of the location. I am not over there very often. I hope to return once it gets a little warmer!

Drop the chain stores! This local business has the best ice cream! It is made that day! My absolute favorite is a chocolate peanut butter milkshake. Have whatever you want though, milkshake, concrete, ice cream sandwiches, sundaes. If you ask, they will sell you a smaller cup, which I give my dog as a treat!

OMG! The best in the state of Virginia!!! Kohr’s is respectable and Rita’s is an imposter. I have had Hibberts and Anderson’s NY, East Coast Custard in Cleveland, Ritters in Indianapolis, Barkers in Baltimore — to name a few and in my humble opinion Bravos is the best. Their recipe is true to the original custard made at Coney Island in 1919(or so I am told!). What makes custard unique from ice cream and far richer, is a delicate balance of egg yolks, fat content and temperature control. Frozen Custard must contain at least 10% butterfat and 1.4% egg yolk. Frozen Custard achieves its creaminess through a production process that produces less air(«overrun») and fewer ice crystals than traditional ice cream. By comparison, traditional ice cream must also contain 10% butterfat. Greater richness of traditional ice cream is often achieved by using higher percentages of butterfat. Some gourmet ice cream contains as much as 17% or more butterfat. In addition, the amount of air beaten into Frozen Custard is about 20%. This percentage of air is called«overrun.» Traditional ice cream can have as much as 100% overrun. Or, in other words, the volume will double due to the amount of air in the final product. The more air the ice cream has, the coarser the texture of the ice cream due to the size of ice crystals. Because Frozen Custard’s has such a low«overrun,» there are fewer ice crystals in the product. The result is an extremely clean and smooth taste sensation that is said to be creamier than ice cream that have a higher butterfat content. And yes, I am an ice cream expert! A cold rainy day or a steamy hot day, breakfast, lunch or dinner, morning noon or night… Bravos is always right!!!

The custard was ok and the prices were good. The parking lot was a bit hairy because the day we went there was a vendor selling stuff in the parking lot so it was a bit hard to get in and out of the spaces.

Delicious frozen custard. Have been coming for years, and will continue to do so. Perfect for a cone or a pint to go. Modest storefront. Vb gem

Truly the best frozen custard in Virginia. I daresay they could even rival Kopp’s and Gilles’, especially since a couple of Wisconsinites own the place. Brian and Ravae will take good care of you and make sure you get nothing but the best! They also ensure customer loyalty with«pint cards.» Every purchase you make comes with pint cards, and you get a free pint once you’ve collected 10. They add up quickly!

When I think of this place the Geiko commercial starts running through my head… «How happy are they?» «Happier than a slinky on an escalator.» That’s how I feel about this custard. I’ve never had frozen custard before… never encountered it on the west coast! Finally gave it a try and it’s amazing. This place has a great family-business feel to it, and the lady said she makes the custard herself a few batches a day, so the«menu» changes. I had a banana sundae with vanilla custard. Best thing ever.

I’ve been a fan since they opened up. Delicious frozen custard that is rich and creamy! I love loading up my scoops with the different toppings they offer. The prices are good, especially when you compare them to big names(cough cough coldstone). but what they lack is SEATING, also I think they would be much more successful if they had more of a modern appeal & more flavors!(take a hint from skinny dip… even though i love bravo’s frozen custard. it tastes better)

Stopped in the other day to use my Groupon, and to try something new. I opted for what they call a ‘Concrete’ — a VERY think shake-type thing that requires a spoon. Not as hard as ice cream, but not soft enough for a straw. The flavor was Birthday Cake, which had sprinkles, Oreo-type cookie crumbles, and other tasty treats mixed in. To sum it up, it tasted like what the table looks like after a little kid’s birthday party — sweetness + cookies + ice cream + birthday cake = YUM! Hubs had a vanilla sundae w/caramel sauce. He thought the caramel sauce was very tasty. We will definitely stop in again, I’d like to try some their other custard flavors and get a little more creative.

Simply awesome. When I come here I like to get what I call«The Chocolate Milk Shake from Hell». This shake is so big its not even on the menu and looks like a big gulp. I drink half and put the rest in the freezer for the next evening. I swear to god that’s the absolute truth. I have never seen a bigger shake in my life. If you’re down off Rosemont Road in the Beach check them out.

Great little place. Warm, friendly atmosphere. Fantastic frozen custard with imaginative flavors and featured sundaes changing regularly. My son & I love Ms. Ravae; she is unfailingly pleasant, kind, and has a great sense of humor.

Custard is very good. My favorite is Sunday’s flavor Butter Pecan. Good service and a great place. Price is very good also.
