I love the Calzones here. Their large enough to share. Cheesy beyond belief. The crust is crisp and light. Love their Marinara sauce, taste like a simmered homemade sauce!

I love it! Best pizza place in town! The owners are really friendly and even thought you have to wait minutes for it, it’s worthy because you’ll get a delicious pizza!

No doubt about it, the best cheese steak you’ll get around here. The pizza is phenomenal. I’ve never had a bad meal here. The staff have become my second family and we see each other pretty regularly… Haha! You can never go wrong with New York Pizza!

As a native New Yorker, I am super critical of pizza. There dough is good, a little thick, they have interesting toppings and its tossed well so you can fold it in half, as pizza should be. Many of their cooked items are good as well, you won’t leave hungry!

We have been looking for a good pizza place for years at the lake and a friend told us about this place. Finally. Well worth the drive from SML. And the subs are excellent as well. You won’t go wrong. I only gave it 4 stars for the interior décor and comfort. The food is 5 star.

The large pizza is GINORMOUS! Best pizza in Roanoke, and they’re fast. Huge indoor dining area, as casual as you can find. But the food quality is tops. They offer other eats as to be expected – calzones and such. The specialty pizzas are quite creative – a few for the daring. Only disappointment: they don’t offer jalapeños as a topping.

We loved this place. We walked into a side room thinking it was the main restaurant and my daughter and I left thinking this place is horrid. Then, we found the main order and dining area. It was fun, busy, happening and the pizza was delicious. It really was like NY pizza. The salad was yum-ola. They had beer on tap and homemade breadsticks with the salad. All the patrons were having fun and we had a great time too. You can’t go wrong here for a fun, casual pizza night out.

Place gets crowded QUICK on a Friday evening. We got there and in 30 mins we saw at least 16 – 20 couples/families come thru. The service was about average and you can see them moving back there. If you want good pizza and don’t want to be disappointed this is the spot(I’m not from NY but I have had NY pizza a few times when I’ve visited and you can taste similarities)

Excellent, authentic Italian style pizza. Try the«Special» for the best with everything. The cheese steak subs are great and will definitely fill you up. Large dine in areas with room for families and tables outside for when the weather is too nice to stay indoors. Best pizza I’ve found in the Roanoke area!

One of the top five best pizza joints I have ever been to in my life. There is always a line during the dinner rush, but the food is definitely worth the wait. The crust is fantastic, the cheese is delicious, and the meats are well made. If you don’t get fresh garlic on your pie, you’re missing out big time!!! They have Peroni on tap as well, which accompanies the pizza perfectly. I love this place and would say this place stands up to any New York joint easily.

We’ve been eating at this restaurant for many years. The pizza and subs are fantastic. They’re so good that we continue to eat here though we’ve moved to the other side of town. The food is definitely worth the drive. The pizza is traditional New York-Style pizza(thus the name, duh). The crust is crispy and delicious with a fairly wide variety of toppings to layer over great tasting sauce. The subs are excellent. Of note are the cheese steak special and the ham and cheese subs. The fillings are plentiful served on a soft sub roll with just the right amount of crispness on the outside. If salads are more your thing, you can’t go wrong with the antipasto salad. Make sure you get the house made Italian dressing. All-in-all New York Pizza has been serving excellent, authentic food for decades.

This is the most authentic New York style pizza you can get in this area. Reminds me of the pizza places I grew up around in Connecticut. As soon as you walk in this place just SMELLS great – which is a good sign. This is a great place to bring out of town friends and family who are from the northeast, because the pizza is just as tasty as what they will be used to! Alas though, since finding out about my gluten allergy I am unable to indulge in pizza(wish they had a gluten-free option!!) but I did try there pizza and calzones before my diagnosis. The shrimp roll(basically a calzone with cheese and breaded shrimp) is delicious and is the only thing my boyfriend orders anymore. I enjoy their salads and I like their cannoli filling alot.

Great Chicago style pan pizza ! I spent 20 years living in Chicago eating Gioradanos, Gino’s East, Salernos, etc. and this pie is right up there with best. Got a large and could only handle 3 of 8 pieces. Not bad at all for under $ 20. I’ll post a photo

Very good NY style pizza. The distinguishing factor for me was the cheese. Not only did it taste awesome, but there is a lot of it. Crust was a little thicker than I would have prefered, but that’s the only thing that kept this place from scoring a 5⁄5 in my book. Service was quick(called in for carryout) and although the employees I dealt with weren’t exactly the friendliest I’ve run into, they were professional and that’s good enough for me.

Best pizza in Roanoke. It’s always packed, so order yours to go and if there isn’t a spot in the lot park next door at Burger King.

There is a reason why this place is always packed full of people, and that doesn’t even count those just picking their orders up for take-out. Their pizza is fantastic. We always get a half Sicilian with 6 toppings. We are getting one tonight and I’ll take a picture of it for Unilocalers. Seriously, for $ 14, it’s WAY better than going across the street for Little Ceasars. I’m amazed that people in Vinton still do this. This Sicilian will feed 6 very well, the crust is thick and each piece is huge. That dinky horrible thing at Ceasars you must suppliment with crazy bread, which is usually cold and rock hard. Horrible. Just drop an extra $ 4.00 and get some GOOD pizza. Now, they also have subs and other pizzas and cannolis and all that great stuff. All is good. Seriously, those subs could feed 3 or 4 each they are so huge. This is not a fancy place, but all the people here work hard and look like they are enjoying themselves, and it’s a really family-friendly place that has great food at great prices. What more could you ask for???

YUM! I love this place and so miss it since I’ve moved away. Fortunately my family all still lives in Roanoke so when I’m in town, they know I want to eat here. Their pizzas and calzones are very good but I am a fan of their hot subs. I typically get the chicken sub with the shredded lettuce, onion and tomato. It is to die for as far as I’m concerned. My husband favors their pizza. It tends to get a little loud and crowded, especially on Friday nights; and kiddie sports teams appear to favor having pizza parties here, but otherwise the food makes up for the noise and annoyance. They have tvs in the seating area and some arcade games to play. Service is fairly prompt unless they are very busy, then you might be waiting a while smelling other people’s food while you’re hungry. Either way, we never leave hungry or unhappy.
