If you really want to get sick and still pay for it, go to this place. This is a really nasty place. Forget about customer service, their quality of food is horrible. Those people who have rated this place highly probably have not tasted real Afghan food. The quality of meat is really bad. Their over-priced chicken kabob is chewy, dry, and bland. They use the cheapest and the lowest quality product as it is evidenced from their cheap plastic silverware and paper plates. Just don’t go to this place!

An Afghan kabob staple in the area that has meat sauce that is simply hard to beat. Portion sizes are larger then Moby’s and quality of ingredients are decent to high side. I have been eating here since 1999. Nothing inside or out has changed, nothing was reinvested in and nothing was improved on. This place has unfriendly service but in my opinion that is part of its charm. Food: 5⁄5 Service: 1⁄5 Value: 3⁄5 Don’t expect high end service at a value price point restaurant. If your looking for it all visit Amoo’s Kabob in Mclean but they are about twice the cost.

Meat: moist and flavorful Salad: fresh, crisp lettuce and veggies, decent dressing Rice: perfectly cooked Yogurt sauce: conspicuously missing, minus one star Bread: clearly made at lunch time and reheated several times — dry and crunchy — minus one star. I’ll be scoping out other kebob joints before returning here.

I’ve gone here for years and whoever the new manager is, is horrible. The meat sauce is one of the items this place is famous for. It’s a very flavorful sauce with huge chunks of meat. Anyway, I go in during lunch the other day and the pan was almost empty. I ask for an order of rice topped with the meat sauce and he just give me the bottom-of-the-pit sauce with no meat and prepares to close up the to-go box. I ask for at least a couple pieces of meat and he says it costs extra for the meat. Never, in the 6 years I’ve gotten this order has any previous employee or manager told me that. So do they just sift out the meat if you don’t want to pay extra now? Isn’t the meat PART of the sauce? Hence why they call it a «meat sauce»? I said I will gladly pay extra and he goes to the new pot that’s on the burner behind the counter and gives me a few pieces. Then he asks for cash. I said I didn’t have cash on hand and he says to just pay him«next time». On top of that, I noticed he was very condescending to the other customers and seemed to wear a face like he didn’t want to serve them. Particularly those who weren’t wearing a shirt and tie. The lady who was running it before was much better and polite to customers. Anyway, the food here is pretty good. A tad pricey compared to other kabob spots nearby but it’s good. If you think this place serves tender kabobs, try Rose Kabob in Vienna. Thank me later.

Nasty nasty nasty the rice was rotten The manager was not nice to customers and I should have taken that as a sign not to eat there. The food was disgusting, I come from a middle eastern family this food was terrrrible if I hadent spent 23 dollars on it I would have walked away — a huge rip off and I spent the rest of the night throwing up and having diahreah thanks to these wankers

Didn’t blow me away, but it was good and the serving was plentiful. One thing I didn’t like is that they only have the spicy yogurt sauce(green). I like having a plain one as well to dip my bread in. Luckily it wasn’t too spicy, though.

The meats are tasty, juicy and charred just right. The naan is fantastic. The sides are delicious. The portions are large and filling. Simply put, this place does pretty much everything right — consistently. The service is solid and friendly(friendly enough… they’re not rude by any means). Takes a bit of time, but the quality is worth the wait. Excellent spot for lunch or dinner. And by the way — the free cup of their house made spicy chicken soup is AMAZING!

Great quality food with lots of spices and herbs. Tastes great. Chicken kabob is soft and chewy. Would defiantly recommend to try if your in the Tysons area.

Awesome hole in the wall place for kabobs! If you’re ever around Tysons, this is a great place to get a big delicious meal. Came here for lunch and the place was packed. I had chicken kabobs for lunch. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The nan bread was warm and the rice with the salad was on par! Absolutely LOVED the green spicy sauce! By the way the place may be tricky to find. Next to hair cuttery and marshalls!

I like the food, it’s tastes. The service is spotty, sometimes really nice, sometimes it’s whatever. I have eaten a lot of different kabobs and this one is on my top 5 in the area. Update on service, the people can be very rude taking the order an inpatient.

OUTOFTHISWORLD!!! These are unquestionably the best kabobs I have ever had in my entire LIFE. The lamb and chicken are juicy and pack robust flavor every time. The bread is soft and great to wrap around each bite of meat and then dip into the spicy green sauce. The salad is even tasty! I also LOVE the rice they use(the brown rice). I have been eating there for close to ten years now and have never gotten tired of it. They even catered my college graduation and I had tons of leftovers. I ate it every day for about a week — and I still love it! Plus, the managers seem like a great bunch of guys, very friendly and outgoing. ONEOFBESTRESTAURANTSINTHEWORLD!!!

Food is good but the service merits one star. Cashier is rude. Called half an hour before for food and still waited

4.5 stars for food, based on quantity, freshness, and flavor. Yes, service can be iffy but I haven’t experienced rudeness. In fact, I usually get a free cup of their delicious chicken soup while I wait. Let’s face it, most of us can’t/aren’t making this deliciousness at home. I’m still waiting to figure out how to make impossibly juicy yet crisp, perfectly seasoned chicken kabobs and learn the secrets of the mysterious«meat sauce.»

If you can put up with the 3rd world service, you will get tasty fresh food. This is Tysons, and the place has been there a long time, with supposed other locations, so not sure why the operations side is so poor. Been going about twice a month many years. Lunch specials are particular value, and if the staff is having a good day, friendly. Else cashier will watch while cook hustles to keep up, not helping even prep. They often give out a sample of their tasty chicken soup to those(always) waiting for their order. But if you take one to go, make sure you don’t get the bottom of the pot, it will just be broth. Its usually a hearty, spicy soup. Had a bad takeout recently, sent an email to owners. Sent follow up email. No reply. So here we are with public comment.

They have the best chicken kabob! Their chicken is tender and very flavorful, grilled perfect and you will want more! Their lamb is pretty good too, nicely seasoned, cooked well and most of the time it’s tender. Beef and the ground beef kabob is also good but not as good as their chicken! Rice is cooked properly, seasoned and very buttery. Love their chickpeas also, never salty and just the right amount of spices. They have really good salad too. Very refreshing and goes well with the kabob dishes. Nothing here is too salty or bland. All pretty well balanced. Service is good. They are usually friendly. They get pretty busy during lunch hours. Dinner time is not too busy. On average, food takes about 10 – 15 minutes to come out and may take longer if they are really busy.

Definitely one of the best Afghan Kabob’s in Northern VA. Portions like typical kabob places are plenty and the owner is very friendly. For sides I recommend the okra, the pumpkin, chick peas, or lentils. For protein, anything. Can’t go wrong.

To be honest. I probably won’t come back here. Just do to the fact most of the middle eastern restaurants I go to are a lot better than this place. The kabobs are pretty good here. Everything else bleh! The staff isn’t so friendly as well. Basically fuck this place but the kabobs are pretty good…

4.5 stars– the only thing I can really say negative about my experience was that it took twice as long as I expected. They cook the protein you order fresh so it takes a lot longer than if it was pre cooked for the lunch rush but the wait is well worth the quality and taste! The price seems a little bit high but when you get twice the amount of meat as most places and a huge scoop of rice, and a side of your choice. I had the chicken kabob and the chicken was moist and percectly cooked and i got the cauliflower which was fantastic as well. The wait is made a little better by the staff walking around giving people free little cups of home made soup. I’ll deff be back for some of the best kabobs I’ve ever had. Will try a different meat next time but the Chicken(a-1 kabob) is blaze!

The food is really good and the prices are pretty fair. For $ 11 you can get a chicken and shami combo that comes with naan, salad, and rice. The problem is, I don’t eat naan or rice and I don’t like their salad. They will, reluctantly, give you three(well sometimes two, depends on who is working), sides instead, but it’s a pain. 50% of the time they give it to me with the naan, rice, and salad and I have to send it back. Honestly, the reason I don’t go there more often is because of what a pain it is to order. It also takes a bit to get your food too.

Large styrofoam plate piled high with meat and rice for $ 11, rung up wordlessly with a scowl, announced with one knuckle rap on the front window. Is that your cup of tea? Then the Food Corner Kabob House is your place. After ordering and standing around awkwardly for a while we finally sat at the metal table out front, studying the parked cars while enjoying the fine strip-mall sidewalk ambience. When the food was ready did they bring it out? They did not. Our oh-so-friendly cashier knocked on the glass to summon us back inside to pick up our cafeteria trays. My E-1 was a trinity of spinach(tasty but richly oily), meat sauce(chunks in red gravy), and a huge pile of rice smothering a few lamb chunks. Pretty good. Very filling. Quite reasonable at $ 11. Little plastic container of cucumber yogurt sauce — guess this is the green sauce — was solid. Watched them make nnan in the tandoor. But instead of being fresh soft and puffy, it was deeply browned and crispy outside, more like baguette. That was weird for something called«naan». Vegetarian rating: 4 stars for the dedicated veg menu which has a veggie kabob, assortment of veg with nan, or assortment of veg with rice. Many to choose from including potato, spinach etc.
