Great beer and wine selection. Food is very good and varied. Very eclectic live entertainment. Always fun and very busy. Great owners and managers. They make it easy to have fun and always remember their customers.

Great local spot, and nightlife events happening here. I like the laid back, easygoing, café atmosphere this bar has. Bartenders seemed mediocre, and ready to serve. Definitely a diverse beer selection, and average pricing. The place is kind of small inside but offeedr lots of different types of seating. They had a band playing the night I came, and the music was not to loud like most places. I’m more of a fan of a lounge vibe and can still talk to people without having to yell. What really made my first time coming here special was the owner introduced himself, and asked about where I’m from. Then he told us some stories about opening the bar and all the events they have going on there. Definitely could see myself coming back, and the inviting vibe here is worth checking out! They also had a nice outdoor seating area if you want to get away from the crowd from inside.

What a pleasant experience. The staff was amazing-​even though they got slammed after we sat down. I was concerned with all the vegan friendly entrees– but I’m so glad we decided to stay.
We shared the green curry chicken pot pie for appetizer-​can you say AMAZING!!!
The duck empanadas were a perfect finishing touch after the kilted steak sandwich… Which was done to perfection.
The ingredients were pure quality!!!
I will definitely come back-​over and over again!

Solid beer selection. In fact, the best in Vero. One of the few down to earth places that make me feel like I’m in a real city again. Music is almost always great too.

I have Unilocal to thank for finding this awesome place when our original dinner plans got cancelled as the restaurant was closed for a wedding. The Kilted Mermaid has nice outdoor seating with heat lamps and a few tables at the bar and a lounge area inside often with a live band playing. We opted to site outside and our waitress was very friendly. They have a lot of options on the menu and are very vegan friendly. Known for their fondue we skipped the cheese and saved up for dessert. For my entrée I went with the veggie sandwich which was on a hefty baguette and came with tomato, mozzarella and a fantastic vinaigrette sauce. It came with your choice of a side salad or potato salad. I went with the potato salad and it was very tasty-​not too much mayonnaise which is key for a good potato salad. Others in my party ordered the slow roasted chicken and roast beef sandwich which came with gorgonzola cheese. They all gave rave reviews. We saved room for dessert and got the Oreo cookie chocolate fondue. It was served with Oreo covered marshmallows, brownie and pound cake bites, bananas, strawberries and graham crackers. It was melt in your mouth good!

Good food, a little expensive, slow dining experience. This is a place to go if your down for just hanging out for a few hours. If your looking for a quick dinner, this isn’t the place.

Looks like a bar – and there were lots of folks drinking and a few were dancing on a Friday night – but the menu was eclectic and the food well prepared. Reasonably priced cheese plates for openers (with grapes and an interesting array of crackers) and two well made salads for dinner. Too loud for conversation but a really friendly vibe and good music more than made up. Maybe quieter on a week nite but overall a good choice in a tourist town.

I have gone here twice so far with my boyfriend and enjoyed it. Staff is really friendly and on top of it. I tried a mixed wine drink which I ended up not being very fond of and without asking the bartender said she wouldn’t charge for it.
It tends to be an older crowd, but I don’t mind because everyone is having a good time without being obnoxious. Both times the musicians/​bands were great.
Also I’m not a big beer drinker, but I love the huge selection and have found a lot of choices that even I can tolerate like the fruit beers. If not beer, they also have wine. I haven’t tried the food, but I love the relaxed atmosphere here and will be back for sure.

After reading all the great reviews, I had to check this place out for myself. Online it said it was comedy open mic night. We walked in and felt like we entered the Twilight Zone. The place was practically empty. I walked up to the bar and asked for a Jack and Coke. The bartender informed me that they do not serve hard liquor. So, I had to select a beer from their hipster beer menu.
We sat in the back on a nice comfy couch and tried to figure out what the hype was all about. Instead we just sat there, very confused as things became overwhelmingly hipster. At 9pm they told us it was last call even though the place closed at 1am. At that point it became obvious there would be no open mic comedy going on. So we finished our drinks and got out of there. We didn’t try the food, but I’m sure it’s fine. It was just a weird place. Definitely not going back anytime soon.

«Kilted Messenger»! The choices of craft beer were plenty, they change often too! Just beer & wine no alcohol. The food was really good, we will go back. For starters we had the crab with Gorgonzola cheese fondue, came with assorted veggies & breads. very good, lots of crab. For our entrée’s we ordered Cuban style flatbread, the melted cheese’s with the pork was very tasty, The Mirabella sandwich, nice & juicy with every bite, & the Gorgonzola ribeye sandwich, was also an excellent choice. Dessert was the traditional chocolate fondue with assorted Fruit, Oreo covered marshmallows & rice crispier treats, the melted chocolate with the macadamia nuts… Delicious!

We dropped off the kids for a night of play and decided to venture out and try something different for a date night on Wednesday night. We arrived early and were the first customers of the night. The place was very different from what we are used to, very quaint. Music was a combination of Sinatra to instrumental swing and more. We started with Trio of Cheddars with Dark Ale fondue. It was simply amazing and mouth watering. The cheese was so smooth it melted in your mouth. We than followed it up with Tuna Crudo Wontons, holly shit amazing. The combination of sashimi grade tuna and other vegetables in a mix over a crispy wonton was perfect mixture of delicious surprise. For the main course we ordered Gorgonzola Ribeye. Do I need to say anything else, it was done to perfection. The combination of shaved ribeye and Gorgonzola cheese with sautéed onions is beyond delicious. In addition to great food, beer and wine list is incredible. This place is a must.

Best little place in town!!! Fondues are outstanding!!! Servers are great! Casual, relaxed atmosphere, not rushed!!! My friend and I had the Crab Gorgonzola fondue with the crusty bread, fresh veggies. It was melt in your mouth. We were going to have a sandwich but, too full!!! Next time we’ll get the sandwich first. And the Escargots in the bread boat will make your tongue slap your brain!!!(I had that at the last visit) can’t wait to go back!!!

Seat yourself, and be prepared to enjoy! Our first trip, but definitely not our last. My husband enjoyed the Cigar City Maduro (Brown Ale) from a vast selection of brews on tap, though they have even more in the bottle. They have a variety of savory and dessert fondues (desserts listed first, which I loved), but we didn’t get a chance to try them this time around.
We had a cheese sampler, served with Irish Cheddar, Smoked Gouda, and Brie, served with a variety of crackers, and toast, as well
as grapes and strawberries. He also enjoyed some Hot Sopressetto Salami… all that I tried was very good, and he enjoyed everything!
For dinner I had the Kilted Cheesesteak (sirloin tips with sautéed onions and peppers, and 2 different cheeses) with the homemade potato salad. He tried their Shepherd’s Pie made with buffalo meat. I was worried momentarily as there were no salt & pepper shakers on the table, but we were pleasantly surprised to find everything perfectly seasoned.
We were also delighted with the entertainment that dropped in The Uprooted Tree Piece… very good, talented, and enjoyable!
While there wasn’t much room left, we did indulge in the brownie a la mode… which was hot, fudgy, beautifully presented and quite delicious!
If you haven’t been, definitely give it a try!

We visited vero beach, and found this place. It has delicious homemade brews, and the fondues, we had a three cheese fondue which came with an optional chicken pieces to dip in the cheese. Topped it off with a chocolate fondue sauce with pieces of strawberries, marshmallows, and pound cake. It was an excellent meal. The craft beer we had was called lost coast 8 ball stout. Similar to Guinness but with an even fuller taste. It was delicious. We had an app of fig in a pork reduction dip which was amazing. i will never look at a fig newton with the same appreciation as before

My friend and I spent a weekend in Vero Beach and after checking out the area before we arrived we learned there wasn’t a huge selection of night life. However, the Kilted Mermaid was one of the main bars that had great reviews for some entertainment on the weekends.
We arrived at the bar on a Saturday night a little after 10PM and the place was pretty crowded. We had a difficult time finding the address. They have an indoor and outdoor sitting area and we sat indoors. The staff were friendly and my friend and I ordered one drink and sat and enjoyed their live entertainment. I had one of the fruit ales and it was okay being that I don’t like beer. The music was cool and the crowd seemed to be enjoying themselves. I saw an older male in a kilt greeting a lot of guests and I am guessing he was the owner. The bathrooms were clean and there weren’t long lines to get in. Overall, it was a cute cozy spot to chill out and hang with the locals.

I stopped by this bar after dinner during a weekend visit to the Vero beach area.
The place was packed and a live band was playing rock style music.
The staff was very friendly. I didn’t order any food because I had just had dinner but I ordered a drink called — mermaid mango –that was very good.
We didn’t stay very long but this place seemed like the only after hours place in the area.

LOVE this place! The atmosphere can’t be beat… not to mention isn’t it the coolest name for a bar? I’ve never eaten here but the beer list is always full of great selection and the friendly staff is always ready to help select a winner.

We had the hummus medley. Not that great. In fact the waiter after we said something was very nice and against our feeling, did not charge us for the meal. The rest of the meal was fine. One still should remember you are having dinner in a bar not a 5 star restaurant. So adjust your expectations accordingly.
Atmosphere was excellent, service was great and otherwise we had fun.

Wonderful little bar/​restaurant — great atmosphere and delicious food! We hung out on the dog friendly outdoor patio and enjoyed the shroom flatbread, hummus trio (the red pepper is outstanding) and a brownie a la mode for dessert. They have an awesome craft beer list and an impressive selection of cheeses/​charcuterie/​fondue. Also a vegetarian/​vegan friendly spot. Staff and other patrons were all super friendly.
