Called and made an appointment, took the afternoon off of work only to have the guy call and reschedule. Then, he never showed up for the rescheduled appointment for which HE chose the date and time. Sorry, but there are no third chances. This guy is a flake. I think it all turned out for the best considering the Unilocal reviewer who claims the owner fraudulently claimed he was licensed, bonded and insured.

Great job, great value, and would use again. KO trimmed three large trees and one smaller tree for half the price of the other estimate I received. The trees look great and I highly recommend him and his service to all.

I had KO Davis Tree Service give me a bid to remove a large tree, and trim another.
He was the low bidder for the job. I told him that I would need to see a certificate of insurance for both liability and workers comp, and I would check his license. His license, shows as being exempt from workers comp as he claims to have no employees. When I asked him about this, he said he paid his employees through a payroll service, and that they provided the workers comp. On February 12, 2015 he emailed me a certificate of insurance dated January 2, 2015, showing a labor provider as the insured.
When I called the labor provider, they told me they stopped leasing employees for tree trimming over two years ago, and asked to see the certificate. I also called the insurance company shown on the certificate, and asked if it was valid.
Both called back to say that the certificate for workers compensation insurance was fraudulent (their words)
Needless to say, I did not go with KO Davis. If one of their workers were to be injured, the workers compensation liability would have fallen to me as the homeowner.
Not providing this insurance for his employees allows him to underbid those companies that are properly insured.
Don’t let them near your trees!

KO was one of only 2 services that actually showed up and gave us a quote on trimming and thinning our large, unruly star pine tree last year. I really think some of the other services took one look at the tree and just took off because we got some astronomical quotes the last time we were shopping around. He was very nice and professional, and gave us a little info on how thinning out the branches would help our tree be more healthy (and we have since seen some nice new growth on the tree). He gave us a great quote and had his crew out a week or so later. It took all day and made a huge mess, but they cleaned everything up and our tree has never looked better! Definitely recommend.

Called for an estimate and they never showed up. So I called and was given the number of the guy who was supposed to show up, he apologized and said he had forgot because his father asked him to do some work… I understand family comes first, but if you want to keep business coming in, you should at least call your potential customers if you’re not going to show up.

KO Davis Tree Service is the best. They are quick at scheduling the job, have reasonable prices, are very professional too. I would not hesitate to refer my friends to this business. They went far beyond what I asked for in cutting my yucca tree (on a steep slope.) They poured a 10 pound bag of lime on it and covered it with a thick black plastic tarp at no additional cost. They hauled away all the debris both times I have hired them. They are very knowledgeable about the health of trees too.

We had a very large branch high up on a pine tree break during a wind storm. The branch was barely hanging on and if it fell it would have landed on our neighbor’s fence. We called many, many tree service companies for estimates. The majority had no idea what they were talking about. They wanted to trim the tree while they were here (it is the wrong time of year to trim a pine), wanted to «top» the tree (this is the reason we had the break in the first place) and would not guarantee that the branch would not fall in their attempt to remove it. They also bid ridiculously high for the job, attempting to take advantage of the «urgent» situation at hand.
K.O. himself came to the house to give the quote. He is an arborist and extremely knowledgeable. He assessed the job, gave a fair quote and guaranteed the branch would be secured during the process. Two days later he showed up with his skilled crew and made quick work of the job. K.O. is also a gentleman and it was a pleasure to chat with him about the other trees in our yard and get his suggestions for proper care. We plan to hire him again to trim our trees next year — before the sap is running. We HIGHLY recommend this tree service and encourage you to spare yourself from making 15 other frustrating phone calls.
BTW — several of the other companies called back almost 3 weeks later asking if we wanted to hire them. Yeah… what part of urgent did you not get? Lastly, not that this will influence you, but K.O. also has a lovely Southern accent. :)

K. O. Davis Tree Service is the best. K.O. is honest, prompt, reliable, quick, reasonable and just a nice guy. I have used him 2 times so far and he has been a pleasure to work with. His men are fast workers and chip and remove all cuttings. Nice to hire workers «like the old days»!!!
