Venice Urgent Care

Upon referral by many other local parents, my young daughters and I have all visited Venice urgent care with various cold symptoms, ear infections etc. There has never been a wait and the nurses and doctors are kind, informative and professional. The facilities are clean and well equipped. We are Venice residents and find the location and the speed in which we receive treatment is incredibly convenient. Many thanks to Dr. Shapiro and the staff!

Best Urgent Care that I’ve seen so far. As soon as we walked in my husband was taken into a room and got his vitals checked. Less than 5 minutes later the Dr came in and checked him. Was sent to xray and got out in 10 minutes. The Dr prescribed medication that he’s not allergic to so that was great of him. Overall they took really good care of my husband and they did it all in less than 45 minutes. Thank you!

Woke up sick with a very busy schedule. Heard from a friend they were great so I called. Walk ins are welcome … Thank god. I stopped in before I went to work desperate for someone to help me plow through these next couple work days. And that they did!!! No waiting at all. Got right in. Doctor took such good care of me knew exactly what was wrong. I was in and out within 30 min! Great experience next time I’m sick this is the only place I will go!!! Lovely experience thank you for taking care of me and getting me back on my feet!!!

I took my daughter today for flu symptoms. We were called back fast and saw Dr. Shapiro. He confirmed the diagnosis of Influenza A via a nasal swab. He gave us nausea medication and cough syrup, and wrote a script for Tamiflu. We found him nice, caring, and clinically sound. Thanks Venice Urgent care… I have high standards being a nurse myself.

Easy, quick and (sorta) painless.
Went in for major aches and pains, flu symptoms etc, worried about all the crazy viruses circulating this season. Staff was polite and educated, Dr was nice enough, facility was clean and close to my house. They explained all the costs involved past the initial exam fee. I have insurance but on a Sunday this was an easier option, and honestly probably cost just as much as if I went to my «covered» insurance urgent care 25 mins further away. Just an injection and a scripted medication and I was in my way home to rest. Two thumbs up for Venice Urgent Care.

Very helpful! Although they couldn’t help me with my medical issue they worked very hard and efficiently to refer me to a specialist and got me in quick!
Office is very nice, new, and clean. I highly recommend this urgent care and will be back when I need help again.

Affordable, very clean, excellent and speedy service! My boyfriend took me in today for my sinus infection, in less than an hour I was in done! The medical assistants are all very friendly and the doctor was great!

I went here twice in the aftermath of a terrible cold, when I felt dizzy and unwell. I have poor health insurance (thanks to Obamacare health reforms) that covers nothing, so my option when I need to see a doctor has been to go to an urgent care facility.
I have been to UCLA urgent care once, and it was quite good, but this place seems even better. First off, I should say this is «urgent care» and while they will work to bill your insurance, you have to be prepared to pay-​as-​you-​go. But the costs seem very reasonable $ 49-​$ 69 to see a doctor and the lab fees are low. Even if I tried to go through my insurance, I would end up paying some fees so why not go here?
There are some good reasons to go here, and I list them:
1) I didn’t even wait ten minutes. Each time I arrived I was checked in by the desk staff and saw I doctor so fast I could barely believe it. So it was amazing to get quality health attention with no wait at all. This was a first. This was health care delivered fast, when you want it. If that costs a little more, it is well worth it.
2) I saw a different doctor each time I went — but both doctors were professionals with decades of experience in family and/​or internal medicine and ER experience. I’ve met a lot of doctors, and the quality and professionalism of the staff was reassuring. Also, they did not seem rushed and gave better personal attention than the last GP I saw. Very thorough. For follow up, I was called on the phone by the doctor as soon as he saw my lab results. Very fast.
3) The whole place felt modern, clean, and new. Almost like being in the Apple store. And the staff all seemed young and helpful and concerned with my well-​being. Very different from some of the harried, crabby people I’ve met in health care.
4) They use the best local labs, Western Imaging (for MRI, ultrasound) and can do a lot more tests than I expected. Overall I was very, very impressed.
I would return. Venice Urgent Care is my first-​stop for any general medical problem now. I think they could handle 95% of most generic problems. For some things you want a specialist. For the rest, try Venice Urgent Care.

These guys were great! The process of forms and getting seen was totally stress free, especially given the size of my lymph nodes and how difficult it was to breathe and swallow. I’d definitely recommend them — especially if you don’t have health insurance. It only cost $ 69 got a consultation verses the hundreds you pay elsewhere. Dr. Shapiro and his medical assistants — including Brenda — were all very kind and they made sure I didn’t leave without providing me relief.

I’m typically not one to go out of my way to write a review. However, my boyfriend received such outstanding care that I had to share. This morning my boyfriend woke up in excruciating pain so I rushed him to this urgent care center after being referred by his mom. Upon arrival they asked for his ID and instantly (literally instantly, no wait at all) took us into a room. The nurse was very friendly and was tedious in assuring that she wrote all the right information down about his pain and injury. Dr. Chung came in shortly after and talk about an amazing guy! I have never seen such professional, warming, and charismatic bed side manner from a doctor (…and I’m from Houston). He was very thorough in his examination and educational about his findings. Dr. Chung verbalized and explained each moved he made when performing a small procedure on my guy. He even addressed other medical concerns that we didn’t even think to ask about and even provided medication to resolve the issue. And just now, hoursss after visiting the urgent care center, Dr. Chung called (7:30 on a Friday night) to check in on my boyfriend and ask how everything was and confirming that we received all the proper information regarding his after care and medicine intake. We are both in wow! We will both be going back here for any urgent care matters and advise that you do the same.

What incredible service! I usually go to urgent care in the South bay even though I live in Santa Monica. Not any more! They took me straight to an exam room, a nurse immediately attended to me and I saw the doctor in less than 10 minutes. Dr. Shapiro even called me the following day to check up on me. That is the first time that has ever happened after an urgent care visit. I am so glad to have them so close by.

Polite and friendly, both staff and doctor. Relatively fast as these things go. However, my 3-​star rating is that when I needed a urine test, (1) they didn’t provide any instructions as is normally done, and following these can be critical, (2) upon *asking* for sanitizing wipes to follow the instructions I know from other doctor’s offices, I was told they had run out. What kind of medical facility runs out of these things?
UPDATE: After notifying the clinic of this problem, the owner personally called me, apologized for the glitch, and said the staff would be educated. He also will compensate me $ 100 which I think once the insurance kicks in will make my visit free. Live and learn they did, taking exactly the appropriate action.

I needed to get an x-​ray of my shoulder due to a fracture and I live in Venice so I ended up here after reading the reviews and calling them to ask about their prices.
I showed up first thing in the am and there was no wait and I was the first customer. Overall the place was clean and everyone was friendly. The doctor was easy to talk to and work with. The technician had to re-​take the first x-​ray though that didn’t bother me too much as she was very nice. You get what you pay for and this is not the Mayo clinic but they are thoughtful and affordable. I was mostly going for affordable during this visit and I walked out of there paying a very fair price for the x-​ray and consult. If you have a real issue, you’re probably going to want to see a specialist.
If you just need some basic care or to speak with a doctor Venice Urgent care will definitely do the job.

Nice facility, nice staff, doctor didn’t help me at all. He asked me questions and looked in my eyes and told me to get an MRI? What a waste of time and 125.00, they referred me to a neurologist that hasn’t even called me back yet. If it’s a minor issue go here anything that might be serious just skip this place.
Shortly after writing this review I received a call from the owner of these Urgent Cares, he assured me I would be able to get a second opinion from another location and would refund my payment in full. I was very satisfied with his empathy for my situation.

I burnt my hand and came to have it checked out. The main staff was awesome but the doc was not my fave. He prescribed a cream that has an ingredient I am allergic to and asked me like 19 times if I needed pain medication, which I didn’t. He really didn’t seem present or like he cared. Luckily, when I called to ask about the allergy, a very nice doctor who I never met said they would at least refund me for it.
Meh. I liked the Urgent Care in Santa Monica better.
Update: I received a phone call from the center apologizing profusely and asked if there was anything else hey could do. I really appreciated that.

If you know you’re sick and what you need then this is the place to go. They will prescribe an overall antibiotic that will work for most sickness which makes it convenient. Also you’re in and out fast and the nurses there are sweet.
If you’re there because you actually need a doctors attention to really figure out your health issues, don’t bother. The doctor is overly confident as in boastful, doesn’t let you get a word in, and thinks you’re crazy for suggesting or asking anything.
It is urgent care do what can you expect?

First disclaimer — I would never write a review for a Doctor and I have been through a lot of them being a Cancer Survivor. Sad state of healthcare in this country…
I felt compelled to write this because it’s rare when you find this kind of gem. And yes, keeping it to myself would seem strategically in my best interests. But for the fact I believe in paying it forward…
First the staff is really great, my first surprise. And what was that feeling? A glimmer of hope that this is a different place? An actual caring staff, friendly and helpful. What? I can see the Doctor already?
Dr Shapiro is one of the most knowledgeable Doctors I have ever met, and I socially know some of the most brilliant ones in the world. He also actually cares… So let me try to give some perspective, I don’t normally like Doctors and don’t generally have good experiences with them, especially when money is their priority and their heart isn’t truly into being a healer… Useless… waste of time and effort…
If you want an effective, brilliant, down to earth Doctor who will simply give you some real healing, go see Dr Shapiro. That might sound kinda lame, but believe me it is hard to find and when you need it, it makes all the difference in the world…

I love this place and would recommend it to anyone looking for an urgent care!
I don’t get sick often, so I was in tears when i woke up yesterday morning realizing I had no other choice but to go to urgent care. I have lived in LA for over 2 years now and haven’t had to visit one, so I was unsure where to go. I was so nervous because I know the nightmares people face when visiting urgent care. I opened Unilocal,saw all of these stellar reviews, and that it wasn’t too far from home (Marina Del Rey).
I called to see if they took my insurance, they looked up my info while i was on the phone, gave me the go, and i drove right over.
I walked in, they knew who I was since I had just called, and took me straight back into a room. The paperwork was short and easy. The staff was extremely friendly, professional and made sure I was taken care of.
My vitals got checked fast and the doctor was in to see me within 10 minutes of walking into the office. She was nice and immediately knew what I needed. I ended up just having a bronchitis infection so she gave me antibiotics and coughing medicine. They gave me a doctors note for work and even offered to give me the meds right there, but you pay out of pocket. I chose to take the prescription to my pharmacy since i have insurance.
On top of quick service, a friendly staff, and a clean & organized facility… they just called me to make sure I was feeling better! I feel so taken care of and not taken advantage of at all (which most people feel after visiting an urgent care).

This place is amazing!
This walk in clinic is go wonderful. I had an eye emergency and went to this clinic right near my house because they took my insurance. I walked in and immediately noticed how clean this facility is! The two young ladies at the front took me directly into a room. (I DIDN’T EVEN WAIT IN THE WAITING ROOM!!) They had me fill out paper work as I spoke with the nurse. Then the doctor came in a few minutes later to check out what was going on. He diagnosed me and told me exactly what was going on and what to expect from the medicine.
The best part? It only cost me $ 20 with my copay and $ 20 for the medication I needed WHICH THEY HAD RIGHT THERE! I was so happy that I didn’t have to go to a pharmacy.
I am recommending them to all of my friends and will be going back if I ever need a doctor!
