I have very sensitive skin and I was looking for an alternative to waxing 3 years ago. I searched online and found «Sugaring by Katia». I was not familiar with sugaring and that is why I wanted to give it a try. I have to say the first time was a little painful but Katia does such an amazing job. She has a great personality, she is very kind, and she makes you feel very comfortable. Katia is very professional, knowledgeable, and she makes sure she gets every single hair. Afterwards it feels very clean and the results last a very long time.

I was first recommended to Katia by a co worker. I never heard of sugaring until then, i was using waxing as a form of hair removal were I would get my eyebrows done. Until I decided to give it try since my co worker explain how much less paint full it was compare to the wax and a healthier alternative. Like anyplace you want to feel welcomed and comfortable and that’s exactly how I felt on my first visit, Katia is a lively fun person that you can talk to anything about and her work is perfectionshe makes sure to clean you before and after and makes sure she gets every hair possible and takes her timemost important part. First of all, Katia is a PRO. I have had a lot of waxing as well as sugaring over the years, but Katia is THE BEST. I will never wax (ouch!) again. Sugaring is so much better and Katia is super efficient and gentle. She has such a nice way about her that she puts you completely at ease. Her studio is always clean and cute. I have been receiving Katia’s sugaring services for 2 years and I think she is great! Katia is very knowledgable about her craft and is able to explain the process and the products throughly. Her studio is always clean and her practices are hygienic. She also has a fantastic bedside manner! Can’t say enough about this part as I am a total baby when it comes to pain. Katia is so great! I have been seeing her for Brazilian sugaring for over a year now and I couldn’t be happier with the results! She is clean and extremely thorough, taking the time to use tweezers after the waxing is complete to ensure all the hair has been removed. I never have a problem trying to schedule an appointment, she accommodates my hectic schedule every time! Annnnd her location is easy to find, across from Whole Foods on Lincoln, where you would think parking would be an issue; however, I’ve never had a problem pulling right up to the building! Believe the hype — Katia is amazing!
I needed a bikini wax ASAP and Unilocal came through with Katia. For starters, she was very accommodating, squeezing me in on short notice. She texted me detailed directions to her studio which were super helpful (she has since moved to Lincoln Blvd. across from Whole Foods which is much easier to spot).
Once I got to her studio, I was glad to see that her space is very clean and she is very hygienic with the sugaring process. She explained sugaring and the products she uses. I felt at ease as she chatted with me throughout the session. She really is sweet and made me feel like we are old friends.
I have pretty sensitive skin and this process did not make me feel irritated at all in the following days, especially after following her upkeep instructions daily. The first session was painful as I’m a newbie (but not as painful as I thought it would be!) but the second session about 6 weeks later was not nearly as painful or as pricey so that’s a definite plus!
I would totally recommend going to Katia for any sugaring needs! She really is awesome and knowledgable about hair removal!

I don’t think I’ve ever had an experience like this for any sort of hair maintenance. Katia is seriously the nicest person I have ever had work done with.
I tried to schedule a last minute appointment, that unfortunately she couldn’t book, but she was very accommodating. She called her local friends to see if she could get me an appointment with someone else. It ended up not working out, but to me it’s the thought that counts!
When I finally did go in to see her, she remembered me and all our conversations. It was my first time trying sugaring and it was such a wonderful experience with her. She was so nice and so informative while she was working. Katia really knows her stuff and genuinely loves her work, which is so rare to see!
Compared to waxing, it’s different. It does hurt, but no rashes, no peeling, no ingrown hairs. I don’t think I’ve ever been this hairless before, truly! I won’t ever go back to normal waxing; this is just too good. I highly HIGHLY suggest you visit Katia! One of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met!

First and foremost, Katia is a professional woman with a vast knowledge of hair removal. As a new client I had no knowledge of what sugaring really was and she answered all my questions without any hesitation.
Sugaring is an awesome experience. It doesn’t require the use of heat and there’s no strips like some wax places have. Sugaring caused no breakouts and I felt very clean afterwards. While I wish I could write «it wasn’t painful at all» I can’t because I have to say, a Brazilian wax isn’t the most fun experience, but it is necessary and if you’re going to do it sugaring with Katia is the way to go.
I used the deal on Unilocal and it was a great! I highly recommend purchasing the deal and at least giving sugaring a chance.

I moved here from DC in January and was in desperate need of some maintenance in the bikini area. Knowing Unilocal would be my new best friend, I searched for the best hair removal in the area, and got so lucky to have found Katia. Now I want to pay it forward!
Katia is professional, friendly, talented, and a genuinely NICE person! I had never done sugaring before but thought I would try it to see how it compared to waxing. I booked my first appointment through StyleSeat and Katia texted me the night before with easy directions to her studio in Venice.
Compared to waxing, sugaring is definitely less painful, and Katia’s «bedside manner» made me feel so comfortable — nothing at all like those anonymous salons that throw you in a back room. We definitely chat a lot each time I’m there, and I feel like she actually cares about her clients — she’s very warm. Also, I was hesitant to do sugaring on my upper lip, as I usually break out from threading or waxing. Katia explained that this is a histamine reaction to the skin losing protective hairs — something that no one, not even my dermatologist, has explained in the past! Not only did the sugaring hurt a lot less, I got like, one bump the following day thanks to a mud masque she had applied. She even texted me the next day to see how I was doing.
Overall I can’t recommend Katia enough! She’s kind, knowledgeable and goes above and beyond for her clients. I look forward to every appointment — and who says that about hair removal?!!

I found Sugaring by Katia via Unilocal and decided to give it a try as an alternative to waxing. First off, the thought of someone «down there» and the subsequent pain that I knew I would endure doesn’t sound very appealing. Nerves aside, I booked with Katia on StyleSeat (super easy process). Katia confirmed my appointment the next day through text, so I was happy to know I was all set.
Katia gave specific directions to her location, but I still got lost. She was so nice and came outside to direct me. Her location is conveniently close to Abbott Kinney so that’s a plus. Her studio is small but very clean and welcoming. I was nervous but Katia put me right at ease, explained the process, and we got down to business.
I can’t compare my experience sugaring with waxing, as I’ve never done the latter. Yes, it’s painful due to the fact I’ve never done anything previously. Katia coached me right through, with a smile, and was very patient with me. Because of it being my first time, it’s automatically more painful. But I committed to finishing and all I can say is «WOW». She was able to do exactly what I had asked for and she paid great attention to detail. All the while being super friendly and professional. I never felt «weird» and it was done before I knew it. She followed up the next day to check on my results too.
I would absolutely recommend Sugaring by Katia. She is so outgoing, puts you at ease, and definitely knows what she is doing. I already have my next appointment booked, and results last about a month. Give it a try and go to Katia. You can’t go wrong!
