History

Established in 1993.

Zac’s years of training in Dublin, Ireland were the first steps in opening Sit Still Color Salon back in 1993 with wife/​biz partner Laura who trained under the best in L.A. Sit Still «one great salon» was created back then to house only the best stylists they could find, so they could achieve truly great results at very reasonable prices and they still do today.

Zac has teamed with Warner Brothers Music and Capitol Records. After having Tali cut my hair two times already, she is now the only one I trust with it. She knew exactly what style I was going for, and exactly how much to cut off. She works fast, yet precise, and her blow drys are to die for! She was able to bring out the natural waves in my hair again, and I can’t recommend her enough! I live in the valley but it’s always worth the drive to Venice to see Tali!

I have been salon-​hoping for years and finally found my home. Sarah is a genius with color! I cannot recommend her enough! Now that I’ve found Sarah and Sit Still Salon, I won’t go anywhere else. The salon has great customer service as well — the receptionists are always so friendly and sweet.

I got a haircut today by Kenna and I’m so in love! The place is super cute and laid back and they play great music. But more importantly they have great customer service! The receptionist was super sweet. She greeted me as soon as I walked in and offered me refreshments. And my stylist, Kenna, was amazing! She gave me an awesome shampoo and a perfect cut. My hair is finally even and it looks and feels better than ever! Very personable and extremely talented! I highly recommend going to see her for any of your hair needs!

I was referred to Keli Ann 10 years ago after another salon destroyed my hair. She brought it back to life. Since then she has taken me from brown to blond, blond to brown and to everything In between. She is reasonable priced and is the only hairdresser I have found who when you ask to only cut ½ an inch she will only actually cut ½ an inch. I highly recommend her. It’s hard to find a hairdresser you can trust.

I had my hair trimmed and layers freshened up. Some layers were blended nicely while other areas of my layers were quite choppy and blunt. I’m quite disappointed in the quality of cut I received and now have to go get my hair cut again to fix it.

My appointment was completely ignored or horrible customer service I have ever had entire Salon Experiences. Because I live near-​by and convenience, If I have a great stylist near my home. However, I am greatly disappointed this Salon even Unilocalers gave 5 stars for this Salon. I had an appointment with Meow (spell right?). Basically, I waited the salon until 220pm (my appointment was pm) without any word from her nor other employees. When I was at the Salon, Meow was working with gentleman. She did not even acknowledge me was awaiting the chair.
I just returned from the Sit Still Color Salon on Sunday, 4th October 2015. I just completely wasted my time.
I have been using Yalp for number of stores, restaurant, and other stuff like handyman, however, I never so much disappointment when Unilocalers give 4 – 5 stars. This is my first time I wrote reviewe and my negative experience to Unilocalers and other public.

I have been coming to see Sarah Pomfret at Sit Still Salon for years now. She is a master of cuts and colors, specifically in blondes. She consistently makes me look and feel like a blonde bombshell every time I walk out of the salon. Everyone who works there always appears to be in a good mood. The place is a cool, vintage, Venice-​y vibe and the owner, Zac, makes it worth the trip alone. He owns the salon and it shows. He is very passionate about it and always gives a warm welcome and remembers me. It makes me feel at home. I will come to this salon and ONLY this salon for as long as I live in California! Best ever — keep it up!

I wanted to try Hair print natural hair color. The owner sent me to this sslon and I’m happy I did!!! This is a new technique, 3 step process, all within the same amount of time as a chemical process! It brings out your natural hair color. I didn’t smell like I had my hair done! Tali did a great job!

I came into this salon very wearily. After my last salon experience (see 2nd paragraph) I’ve developed a fear of getting taken advantage financially or getting my haircut lopsided (as has been the case practically every time I’ve visited a salon in LA for the past 2 years)!
I had a color correction (at a different salon) to bring my hair from inky black to a reddish brown. It took a total of 9 hours, 2 visits and $ 680! I wanted my natural color — ashy brown, but after my second 4-​hour long visit, I would have walked out with green hair, rather than sit there any longer! It was such a traumatic experience, that I decided to do the color touch ups at home (im a non-​practicing licensed hairdresser).
Ok, so that was bad idea. Due to the color correction, after I did a few root touch ups at home, I started to notice a dark band about 1 ½ inches from my scalp. It was due to the color correction creating extra porosity in that section of my hair. Suffice it to say, My hair was turning really dark again because it started to hold the touch-​up color. UGHHHH…
I realized one day that I totally F***** up my hair again, and was just too scared to color it again on my own. That’s when I found Sit Still Salon on Unilocal.They had great reviews and frankly, I was desperate!
As soon as I sat down in the salon chair I resigned myself to Kelli, the wonderful hairdresser I was given. She and the owner devised a game plan and 2.5 hours later, My color looked completely even and to top it off, I got the best haircut Ive ever had in LA!
I love Kelli, and this salon, and I will NEVER color my hair at home AGAIN!

I had a great experience with Sarah Nagata. She gave me an adorable cut that gets me compliments where ever I go. She was a perfectionist about getting my bangs just right and it really works. I told her I don’t fuss with my hair much and she really set me up so I can style it or just wake up and go. Thanks Sarah. The place is cute, calm, some music playing. Not too fussy, it’s Venice after all. I get a good feeling there, and to top it off, reasonable prices for the working girl.

Awesome salon in a great part of Venice. Tali gave me an awesome cut and color. She took her time to make sure it turned out perfect. I went from dark brown to blue black with a strand of purple in the front. It looks even more amazing in the sun. I can’t wait to go back to see what else she can create!

So, first of all Zach is a badass! I went into the shop today with an idea to totally change hairstyles to something i’ve never done before and he totally rocked it out! I’ve already gotten a ton of compliments on my haircut. Also, it was a pretty sweet feeling when other stylists in the salon were using Zachs work on my head as a model to emulate :)
