Samantha Turchin Photographs

I cannot say enough good things about Samantha Turchin. She photographed our wedding on 10÷25÷15, and after getting our photos back, I was literally moved to tears because they are so beautiful, and so perfectly captured the day. To top it off, Sam is such a pleasure to be around, which was important, because she was by my side the entire day. She was such a calming presence, so professional, and went above and beyond each step of the way.
She is a talented and skillful photographer when it comes to her eye for detail combined with composition and color. I knew I wanted a documentary style aesthetic, but the photographers I was seeing that I liked were way out of my price range. Thank God I found Sam! She knows how to take moments beyond the posed or expected shots and document the REAL emotions of the day, and she is beyond fair with her pricing for what she offers. Like other reviewers have said, she captures so much more than you realize she is seeing in the moment.
Sam is also just incredibly hard working. She went far above and beyond, working 12 hours nonstop on our wedding day and delivering hundreds and hundreds of gorgeous photos. She was kind and welcoming from our first phone call and in person meeting. She went far beyond the realm of what many other photographers will do by actually coming to visit our venue since she hadn’t been there before; and since the permissible locations were limited there, she helped us scout additional locations that better suited our desired aesthetic.
Working with Sam was honestly just a dream. She is a true artist, passionate about providing compelling photos. I recommend her for any special event or phase of life you wish to capture.

Samantha recently did our wedding and engagement photos and they are amazing!!! She is extremely professional and always able to capture perfect moments and give life to all of her photos. We’ve received tons of compliments on the photos. Could not be happier with her work. Love you Sam!!!

I had the pleasure of working with Samantha Turchin photography at the Lindley-​Scott House for a wedding and I sometimes dread when working with photographers because of there lack of enthusiasm and professionalism. Working with Samantha was a true blessing, she was always readily available to get the shots for the couple and took some great pics. She had the wedding party pics and family photos done in the time she was given before the reception started and very professional and easy to work with. Being a photographer is a talent, but also having a photographer with a positive attitude and great personality is a plus. I would definitely recommend checking out her website and seeing her amazing photos.

We live in Texas and wanted to get family pictures on the beach while on vacation near Marina del Ray. Samantha and I only communicated through email before meeting at the beach for the pictures. It was clear from her initial email that she was a solid choice. She is quick to reply, organized, and an overall great communicator. I loved her website. She answered questions that I never even thought to ask. I shared a pinterest board with her and received awesome feedback on my outfit selections. She made all of us including 3 kids feel completely comfortable and the entire experience was SO MUCH FUN! We had some unusual fog that rolled in that evening but she used it to our advantage. We love every picture! I truly consider her a friend now and hope that our paths cross again! Thank you, Samantha, for the eternal memories and sharing your gift with us!

I could not have asked for a better experience with a photographer for my wedding than I did with Samantha. She was referred to me by a family member, they spoke so highly of her and their wedding photos came out amazing.
With some other vendors I spoke with, I felt like I had to force them to meet ahead of time, they couldn’t be bothered. Right after I called Samantha she insisted on meeting without me asking. She was so pleasant, friendly, and easy to talk to. She brought with her a smörgåsbord of her work, including a collage album she made that just blew me away. Her style was beautiful, capturing wonderful moments and all the beautiful details of others’ wedding days. I was instantly sold. There was no pressure to purchase prints after the wedding, she was upfront and honest about all of it.
The day of the wedding she was fantastic. Our schedule did no go as planned (of course) but she made it work. She was efficient and directed us all wonderfully. I was so busy during the reception but I kept seeing her taking pictures everywhere.
Her personality is so easy to get along with. She has been so kind to us, and her passion for what she does shines through her attitude and her work. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. We felt we got so much more than we paid for. We will forever be grateful for her!

I wish I could give more stars. We could not be happier with Samantha Turchin Photography, and I am really not easy to please (at least I admit it!). Sam was totally professional, reasonable, and just really easy to work with (I can’t stress this part enough). And the results speak for themselves. Her photos are epic.
Our wedding photographer backed out 2 weeks before our wedding. Scrambling through ~10 referrals we serendipitously came across Sam via a Google search and were instantly drawn to the images on her site, as well as her customer-​centric way of doing business. She communicates clearly and pleasantly (something lacking from her «competition»), in person, via email and through her website. The great communication continued from our initial meeting, through a site walk-​through, the event, and all the way up to her final delivery of the photo files, exactly as we had discussed (actually, she over-​delivered in a very good way), and slightly ahead of schedule. Sam’s rates were very reasonable, especially since she brought an assistant, both of whom stayed until the last person left the reception!
Of course, all of this would be worthless if the photos weren’t absolutely stunning, which they are. Sam is a true artist. She’s very present in the moment, recognizes what’s important, and captures that moment with a style and technical precision that is just extraordinary. We had hoped to have one or two key photos of the night that we’d be able to frame and look at for the rest of our lives. We ended up with a ton of them.
As a filmmaker, not only am I focused on the story and the content, but I’m incredibly critical of exposure, composition, color, contrast, focus and all of the technical aspects of an image. I couldn’t be happier with Sam’s work. She hit a grand slam for us, and I would recommend her to anyone, any time, for any occasion.

Samantha photographed our wedding on 11/​08/​2014. She was amazing! She got every picture I could have ever wanted (it was like having multiple photographers) she really hustled. she even came in early to take detail pictures of the venue and décor at my request. Her price can not be beat for the amazing quality of photos and the length of time you get her (beginning to the very end of your event!). She was so pleasant all day long even at the end of the day when I’m sure she had to be exhausted and dealt with my demanding family with a genuine smile. Really a class act. I got my photos in a timely manner and she even sent them in beautiful packaging. I would use her again and will definitely be recommending her to family and friends. Thank you Samantha! My wife and I hired Samantha to shoot our engagement photos in August 2013 and we instantly knew that we had found our photographer for the wedding. I was never one to think that Engagement photos were necessary, but after spending a fun afternoon in the hills above Los Angeles as Samantha took our photos, I changed my mind.
They were fun, didn’t feel or looked staged, and the most important part: they were beautiful.
During the wedding, Samantha blended into the crowd as she took unstaged photos of people having fun and enjoying their time. She was always available though for anyone who wanted a nice photo taken while at the celebration, and was incredibly accommodating for any photo or setup that we wanted.
The package we received with our photos was beautiful and an excellent point of punctuation on the entire process.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t recommend her highly for any of your photographic needs.
All in all, she is a fantastically talented, easy-​to-​work with person who is fun, friendly, and overall a true professional with excellent photographic talents. Planning a wedding should be fun, but it usually ends up being a very stressful process. So why not make part of that process easier by hiring a fantastic photographer?

My wife and I have known Sam for a long time. We asked her to do our engagement photos, and they were out of this world. She followed us around in downtown Los Angeles for hours in the rain one Saturday and got the most AMAZING pictures. She also did our wedding and the pictures were equally as awesome. Sam has incredible vision and captures so much you didn’t realize she saw or could have seen. We can’t recommend her highly enough!

I recently worked with Samantha Turchin at a wedding I was DJ’ing at. Samantha was the photographer and I just wanted to write how impressed I was with how she works.
Her pictures come out great and she has very professional equipment. Perhaps one thing that is harder to tell about a vendor before you hire them for your wedding is how they actually can handle your event and keep things organized. I can tell you that Samantha is excellent at that. She was great at keeping things on schedule and just being «on the ball» to make sure she was in the right place at the right time to get the shots she needed.
She’s also very friendly and great to work with which I think is very important. She was not stressed out or flustered at all. Such a joy to work with and I’m sure that she really helped the bride and groom as well to feel at ease and just have a really great wedding day. Just thought I’d add in my perspective as a vendor working along side her as that is one side not everyone gets to see. Hope it helps!

We booked Samantha for our wedding after loving our engagement shoot. The wedding pictures were absolutely amazing and she captured so many priceless memories. Every time I look through our photos it’s like reliving the day all over again. She was also with us for most of the day so we were able to get photos of some many aspects of the day. I’m so happy that I won’t have any regrets about our photography choice for such an important day!

My fiancé and I recently hired Samantha to do our engagement shoot. We were so satisfied with her work. She made the shoot experience comfortable and fun! She managed to capture those fun moments where we were not even posing and turned them into works of art to say the least. Three days after the shoot we had so many pictures all edited and ready to be printed. After we received our pictures we were so blown away by her abilities as a photographer we decided to hire her for our wedding in Northern California. Without a doubt my fiancé and I highly recommend Samantha.

What a relief to have someone understand what you want! Leading up to the day of the shoot, Samantha and I spent about a month trading Pinterest posts of engagement photo themes that I loved. Her willingness to research alongside me this way allowed her to understand my aesthetic and test my creative boundaries. She also took the time to get to know us via emails before the photo-​shoot so that we could get to know her. By the day of the photo-​shoot, we felt comfortable posing in front of her because, even though it was the first official time we’d met her, she was no longer a stranger.
She showed up on time, hopped from location to location in search of the perfect shot, and, like I said, made us feel so comfortable that, before long, we weren’t even posing. So many of the pictures we ended up really loving were shots where we were all in conversation and my fiancé and I were just being ourselves. We look so happy, and it’s wonderful that it gets to be moments where the feeling was genuine, as opposed to a cliched photo of us smiling unspontaneously on a beach. Our engagement photos are so unique and delightful to look at — I don’t know how to choose which one to use for a save-​the-​date!
I know I will be working with Samantha again in the future; hopefully on our wedding day, or maybe to do family portraits long off down the road. As you can see from her website, she’s extremely talented; but what makes her a gem isn’t just her talent, it’s her ability to get to know her subjects and use that knowledge and understanding of them to make, not just some lovey-​dovey photos, but a fabulous piece of art to be cherished for decades to come.
