Description

Specialties

Organic ingredients, fresh farm vegetables, chicken and fish. Our egg dishes are famous for taste and variety. From goat cheese and shitake omelette to our very own Puffed pancake with fresh fruit and powdered sugar, breakfast is always a treat at the Figtree. For lunch we serve salads (try our chopped salad with or without grilled chicken or our popular ahi tuna salad or seared ahi tuna sandwich on chiabatta bread from La Brea Bakery), sandwiches, (our avocado chicken melt is a must as well as our fresh salmon sandwich), pasta (oudon noodles with ginger and peanuts or capellini putanesca with shrimp) or our homemade spinach, nut, chicken and turkey burgers.

History

Established in 1978.

Our business was started in 1978 when schoolteachers Bill and Tammy Figenbaum decided to open a small beachfront bakery and café. The café was called Figtree and it expanded into the restaurant we are today. The idea was to emphasize organic ingredients to create a healthful and tasty menu that has been regularly updated over the years. Twenty eight years later, the Bunge family bought the business and has tried to keep the flavor. Our customers love our food and that is the best inspiration!
