Bayside Yellow Cab

Couldn’t imagine a taxi driver who lived in LA for 4 years… he told us… didn’t know where Santa Monica Blvd was. Really. Kept us on the long route from LAX. That is, until I yanked out my trusty iPhone and mapped it. Behold! The street ran parallel from where we were! I asked nicely if he can just make the next left. And poof! His memory returned… oh yea Santa Monica blvd… we don’t call it that over here. So… the letters on the street sign doesn’t matter? Oh ok. Keep your phones handy, people! 2 stars for taking the back seat drivers instruction.

Made reservation night before, 15minutes still no show, called another company who got their within the three minutes I called… these guys are not reliable!

Should’ve checked Unilocal first before using this company, but we were sleepy — it was the night before an international flight! No excuses… but OK here’s my review.
We scheduled for them to pick us up at 8:30am, they were on time. But the driver showed up in an unmarked white van with fumes spilling out from the pipes, and the «cab“didn’t have a meter in it. A cop pulled up right away when he tried to pick us up and told us that there are alot of unregistered cabs running around scamming people. The cop tried to ask for paperwork then said he had to arrest the dude. Maybe the Christmas spirit got to the cop, because he said he would let him go but told the dude to NEVER come back to the city.
Then the driver proceeded to lecture us on how next time a cop ask us who we call, we need to say «BAYSIDE CAB SERVICE!» Wow…
He charged us $ 25 on a cab ride that normally costs $ 20. Whatever, we didn’t tip him.
DON’T CALL BABYSIDE. PLEASE. Especially if you are a woman traveling alone!!!

— the driver stole my cash and my 4s iphone when i went to pick up my belongings at a second stop… many threatening/​police involved phone calls later my phone was returned but not without an attempt at extorting 40 more dollars before the police arrived… omg– protect yourselves!

Dishonest.
I was quoted a $ 40 dollar flat rate.
When I reached my destination I was charged $ 48 dollars + a 2 dollar fee, equalling $ 50.
I will not use them again.
