Monica has been my stylist for more than 2 years and she is awesome. She gives me the best color that I have ever had. My hair looks great and I have referred several people to her. If you are looking for a professional, Monica is the one. Great service, great color and great cut. Would not go anywhere else!

If you’re looking for overpriced, poor performance, lousy customer service and arrogant, incompetent stylists this is the place for you. You pay for 2 hours of quality time and get an hour if you’re lucky. Our last visit was a half hour late with 40 minutes of attention. If you like pissing away your time and money then definitely this is the place for you.

Ashley turned my overgrown, stiff hair into the most luxuriously soft, flattering style I have ever had. Life-​changing and definitely mood changing! I feel like a new woman with more time to spend on important things rather than fuss with my bad hair days. Priceless. I can’t stop touching my hair, it’s so amazing! This was my first visit to Studio 162, and Ashley’s amazing talents gained her a new loyal customer. She knew exactly how to turn my complex super-​thick, coarse, naturally curly, long hair into something manageable, timelessly stylish, and beautiful. I never would have imagined my hair could look like this. Ashley is a very good listener and a superb artist. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting fabulous hair and the whole upscale salon experience.

Vanessa at Studio 162 is masterful in creating a new look. Her knowledge in color and product produces a great head of hair. She takes the time to do a thorough consultation and understands what the client wants and is clear about the pricing up front. Go see Vanessa for a great look!

I’ve seen two stylists here so far, and both were extremely nice. The atmosphere is nice, and the service is wonderful. I just went in recently to get a cut and dye, and it cost me about $ 130. And I actually loved how it turned out. For as long as I can remember, I always hated the haircuts I got. And before this, I got my hair professionally done twice and wasn’t thrilled with either. Nicole gave me exactly what I wanted, made sure it would look nice, and was extremely helpful and nice. I would recommend her to all my friends and family.

Took my mom here for cut and color. She has short hair, they did a simple cut and root touch up. She was charged $ 90 for root touch up!?! and $ 45 for a cut! Overpriced and service she recieved was not professional. Her original stylist passed her on to someone else as she was busy! How do you schedule someone and change your mind, take someone else instead and claim your busy. This does not reflect good customer service.

I absolutely LOVE Studio 162 and the hairstylists working there. Everyone is very kind and helpful and I feel very comfortable in the environment they have created. I get my hair done by Nicole and she is fabulous. She has great ideas in regards to styling, cutting and coloring my hair, and she is so fun to talk to. I’m glad I found Nicole because she has become a good friend as well as an awesome hair stylist! I get many compliments on my hair frequently and everyone asks me where I get my hair done. It was Nicole’s idea to do my hair A-​line and after I got it that style, I have not changed it in over a year and half because I love it so much and get so many compliments on it. Thank you Nicole for the work you do on my hair!

My review is not just for the services you can receive at the Studio, but for prospective Stylists, too! I happened upon the salon after moving to WA from CA. One thing that drew me to the salon was the passion and emphasis placed on continuing education. As a stylist, you NEED to be learning new techniques and style trends in order to keep it fresh. Amy, the owner, is a really amazing, fair boss (which isn’t easy to come by in the salon industry). If you’re a stylist that wants to work hard and keep learning, check this place out. After two years of being on the team, I moved out of state but I still consider this place a gem!
As for stylists and services, I highly recommend Vanessa for your cut and color needs (booked up way in advance), Amber for brow waxes (she is a fab stylist, too), Anne for that flawless bob, Erin for your blonde highlights, Gabrielle for your perms (if you’re getting real crazy!) & Kathy for your mani-​pedi. But really, everyone here is talented.
You may pay a little more than the shop down the road, but what you will receive is worth it. Any they’re a Bumble & Bumble salon, need I say more?

I’m so glad I stumbled in here. I needed a haircut, BADLY and was able to get in right away with Monica. She gave me an awesome cut, realistic home care tips (as opposed to the stylists who show you all this complicated crap that you’re supposed to do at home) and was detail oriented and so very positive the entire time. I will definitely be back, because I look great. Plus free bang trims, whaaaa?

I have been trying many salons in Vancouver and Portland area, and I am so glad to find this salon. I have Monica as my stylist, I am so glad to meet her and will keep her as my forever stylist.
Monica is perfectionist and really did an excellent job! My back head is flat, and not too many stylists can create a great style for my flat back head. And Monica pulled it out!

They also offer you a drink such as vine… it is sooo cool! And the cost is really reasonable for an excellent service!

I have now gone here twice and it is officially my favorite salon. The first time I went in I had a slightly negative experience with a catty/​rude receptionist, but I was very glad to hear that she was let go because I was not the only one to complain about her. The new receptionist is very nice and much, much better. So kudos to them for fixing that problem. The salon itself has a really cool, modern, and relaxing atmosphere. They play nice music in the background and all of the stylists are very sweet and inviting. It’s easy to have an enjoyable conversation with the stylist and patron next to you, which makes the long process an even more enjoyable one.
My stylist is Monica and I absolutely love her! She is super sweet, strikes up conversation and just has an overall very pleasant demeanor about her. Plus, and probably most importantly, she is VERY good at what she does! I wanted something new and dramatic done to my hair, and had decided on a peekaboo highlight style. When I went in I wasn’t overly sure which colors I wanted, but after talking it over with her she helped me to find the PERFECT color scheme and I couldn’t be more happy with it. She has also done a WONDERFUL job cutting my hair, and really seems to understand where I want it in the future… I got a REALLY bad hack job last year and she has been helping me to keep it cute while I grow it back out the way I want it.
She is overall the best stylist I have ever had, hands down. She is so intuitive and helpful, and is so good at helping you achieve exactly what you want. It took two appointments to get my highlights as light as I wanted them, but I knew to expect that because she told me ahead of time. I highly recommend her. She is just so talented and gives great upkeep advice!
