Simple Solitude

I work not far from Simple Solitude and after seeing great reviews, I thought I’d pamper myself and get a gel manicure ($ 35). Becky was my nail tech and she was absolutely delightful – great conversationalist and perfect nails. For gel nails, there are tons of color choices (unlike some places I’ve been to) and for regular polish, they stock good brands like Zoya. The atmosphere was funky and upscale at the same time. I will definitely be back!

Everyone here was AMAZING and fun and actually listened to what I wanted on my nails. Best experience I’ve had getting my nails done. SUPER HAPPY! Definently my new place!

I went in this weekend, its a cute and cozy nail salon. Parking isn’t hard to find. Perfect location. I didn’t mind the fact they didn’t have massage chairs, what I did mind was the incomplete leg/​massage I was given. I feel that if the basic pedicure will cost $ 40 then there should be at least a thorough massage. Everything else was great

Another excellent rating! Last time my review was on behalf of my husband but this time we BOTH had appointments! I got gel polish on my toes and a gel manicure and he got a full mani and pedi (thank goodness). We booked a pretty big chunk of time with Genia and ended up staying there for honestly most of the day as she took great care to make sure we left with excellent results. This is my first time trying gel polish and I’m in love with it! And finally, my husband’s feet are tolerable to be near.
Because my my social anxiety I was a little bit nervous about going in because the salon was so full, but I was very quickly put at ease by how friendly and welcoming every single person in the salon was, even the other clients! We spent our visit chatting and laughing with each other, Genia, and even the rest of the staff and clients.
I loved how cozy the salon was and the fact that, had I chosen to get a pedicure, they didn’t have those crazy jet chairs that are almost impossible to sanitize. Everything in here was so clean and even the tools they use on you are brand new and either thrown out or given to you to take home!
I can’t wait for our next appointment in three weeks! Even though we live in Beaverton, OR and (with traffic) it can be quite the drive to get here (and definitely an all-​day event if we both want full services), this will absolutely be our regular salon from now on!

Sarah (the owner of the salon) and Aleesia (the receptionist?) are absolute AMAZING people! It smells so heavenly in the nail salon, it isn’t your «run of the mill» nail salon — everyone greats you as you walk through the door & the products they have are natural cocoa butter based and smell amazing! If you’re looking for a night out with the girls or a pedicure after work, try this salon out!

Just got my nails done here for the first time and it was a great experience. Very cute and clean shop with very friendly people. I got gel nails for the first time and I’m hooked! I will definitely go back!

I just got the best manicure of my life! After reading good reviews I brought my mom in for my birthday and I’m so glad I did. We both got a gorgeous manicure, with friendly service. The salon is extremely clean, and they gave us the files after because they don’t reuse them. The best part is I gave genia an elaborate inspiration picture and she made it better. I’ve found my new salon.

This was my fist time here and I loved it! Super sweet and friendly ladies to chat with and Tearra gave me an excellent pedicure while i sipped their orange spice tea. They made me very feel comfortable and at home. Will be back for sure. Thank you!

I was a bit concerned about how trendy of a salon this was. I pictured a punk rock wild and crazy nail polish spilled on the floor party atmosphere. It wasn’t at all — It’s the farthest from that! It’s a nice quaint tidy and clean nail salon — smelled nice too! The chairs are just regular chairs but they are comfy (I’m pretty bias too, ½ the reason I go is to sit in the massage chairs!) But these were great. The music wasn’t too loud and was set to an 80’s station *my favorite*.
The polish choices were great — almost too many to pick from. LOL. I like the way the had them on fingernail samples on a wheel, in a basket next to the pedi chairs. I didn’t feel rushed in choosing because they were right next to me. I spent a lot of my time browsing thru them. My tech recommended a brand that was supposed to «last longer» and a top color with dots in it. Turned out very fun and cute. AND it did last a long time. At 2.5 weeks I noticed my first chip, but I had stubbed my toe earlier in the day so that could have been the cause.
On their webpage it describes the SPA PEDICURE as: a Foot soak, shape nails, cuticle care, buff, smoothing of calluses, exfoliating foot scrub, warm towel foot wrap, knee to toe massage, polish; Approx. time: 90 minutes. It’s the more expensive pedi at $ 50.00 I don’t ever spend that much. I was really treating myself, I had just left a stressful job of 7 years and needed some TLC.
Lisa was my tech and she did a good job cleaning up and painting my feet/​toes. But I was very very disappointed in my massage. It wasn’t even close to a «knee to toe» massage. A lot of the reason I treat myself to pedicures is for the foot massage, I’m not a tiny person and my feet take a lot of abuse. I was SOOOO happy when I read about their massage — KNEE TO TOE! Yay! And more than disappointed than I ever have been. She didn’t even touch my legs. :-(
And to top it off it wasn’t 90 minutes. It was almost 60 but not even close to 90. I live with boys, I needed time away! :-(
I don’t think I’ll be back. I got a really nice pedicure today for $ 25.00 in a massage chair with a dang good foot/​leg massage.

If you’re looking for a nail salon to call home — you’ve found it.
I’ve been a regular client here for two years and have recommended this salon to many of my friends… and many strangers when they randomly comment on how awesome my nails look. Before Tearra got her hands on my hands they were a mess. Now I’m proud of how my nails look & I’ve learned how to care for them in a way that works for me — with Tearra’s recommendations & advice. Sarah & Tearra have cultivated an environment of professional & consistent service, caring staff, comfortable surroundings and truly amazing talent. Plus they’re incredibly fun & I always look forward to my time at the salon.

This is my go to nail place. These ladies are THE best! Fun, professional, and very caring of their clientele. I heart Simple Solitude!

The staff was really nice. That said I got just about the worst manicure I’ve ever received. I used a GC and still left a big tip but I’m not likely to go back or encourage others too. She used a course buffing pad on my nails and the grooves left are so deep they are visible through the polish. I look like I pressed a fuzzy sweater on my wet polish and I’ve changed polish since the appointment and it still looks like crap due to the rough treatment here.

The pedicure was fine and I’m pleased though concerned what was done to my nails with the rough buff pad under the polish. Since there is 2 plus layers of regular nail polish on my toes the scoring isn’t visible. Regardless that’s not how nails should be filed.
Normally I’d be happy to come back in to have something fixed, however as I explained to my manicurist that day, I have very fragile finger nails. I only ever put nail strengthening clear polish on them and made sure she knew that when she asked me if I wanted gels. She applied a clear strengthener from the salon But it’s impossible to fix the groves and scoring done to my nails without taking more of the nail surface down farther. That would totally ruin my nails for months until they grow out. They are currently already chipping at the edges under my regular strengthening polish. Such a rough surfaced buffing pad shouldn’t be used on nails… The fine/​ultrafine/​shinning ultra ultra fine long rectangular nail buffers are what people use and expect. Not something so rough it’s meant to take down callus. Not something so rough it leaves marks visible through two coats of clear strengthener.
She was a very nice girl and I’m sorry to leave a bad review, but I think anyone in my position would honestly be upset at nails that look like sandpaper was used on them. I’ve never been any place else that left my nails like that.
Maybe you can adjust the tools and techniques used on clients there in the future, I just can’t see coming back for something that’s not fixable.

Love this salon, Sarah is the best! All the nail artists are awesome and both their pedicures and manicures are always top notch. If getting a pedicure, they always use a fresh tub liner, everything is very sanitary. I recently got my nails done for our honeymoon to Disneyland, they turned out super cute!

I just went here for the first time and was very pleased with my experience at Simply Solitude.
Right off you notice how clean and simple the place is with just the right touch of décor and cozy adornments. I love the fact that it doesn’t smell like a chemical warfare plant inside with the buzzing of those crazy (and painful!) electric drills.
They are running a special for a $ 15 gel manicure which I had to jump on! Especially excited because I am new to this area and wanted to find a regular spot, great price to try it out! My Mani was with Shelby. She is professional and adorable. She really enjoys what she does and it shows :)
I got a cute color changing gel shade (Sunset something) and I love it!
Next time (Yes, I am going back!) I’m thinking of going with something sparkly, that is if I can tear myself away from this color that I really dig. Will def treat myself to a pedicure here at some point as well! Great selection of gel and non gel colors.
New regular nail spot — FOUND!

I love the fact that they DON’T do acrylics so it smells nice, the staff are friendly and take their time. I love it and it’s close to my house. I got a friend a gift certificate.

My new go-​to nail salon! Great atmosphere with very talented ladies. I highly recommend their gel manicure! Tara created a beautiful ombré style polish. It’s also a homey, comfortable boutique nail salon.

Searched high and low in the Vancouver area… found our new place!
Clean?! Yes, individual foot baths that can be thoroughly cleaned annnnd they use disposable liners. I couldn’t find a nail place that doesn’t use the petri dish whirl-tubs…no thank you.
$!? Yes, amazing prices of those you would get in the other nail shops that are quick in/​out walk in shops.
Ambiance?! In the works, it’s a great little spot with three pedicure chairs and two nail tables. This place is still very new so they are adding their own style as they go. I think it feels cozy and funky.
Colors?! Too many to choose from! Tons and tons of great colors. TONS of gel colors.
Service?! With a smile (amd some fun chatting) my mom had Tara who gave her a pedicure and gel manicure. Yes, they take there time but since when was that a negative? Sarah did my pedicure and it turned out fab.
