I’m a terrible critic for Korean food as I was in Korea a year ago and had some amazing food there. The Bi-Bim-Pap was pretty good at the Korea House restaurant. I will go back and try other menu items. The service staff were very kind and inviting. I will go back!

The water tasted like lead and thus the rice also tasted like lead. The spicy chicken wasn’t terrible, but I am legitimately afraid for people who eat here. My dining companion also was scared.

My husband and I have been enjoying this little hole in the wall for over 12 years! We are officially addicted to the Yukgaejang(spicy beef soup) There is nothing better on a rainy day than a steaming bowl of this. My husband also loves the spicy seafood noodle soup. The Bulgogi is amazing! My son loves the yakisoba, my daughter loves the bentos. And the Kimchee stew is delish. The atmosphere is very bland, but we go there for the food. We’ve known the owners for years… This is the best teriyaki and Korean food we’ve had… Hands down! Go here and try something!

Only legit Korean food in town. Mom and Pop stop shop. Mom does the cooking and the dad serves. I am Korean and eat Korean at home 4x or more times a week. Can you get better Korean in Portland? Absolutely! Can you get better Korean in Vantucky? Absolutely not! The comments about there being no short ribs(flanken style chuck ribs) are incorrect, and they don’t charge you for sides unless you’re a cheap ass ordering one dish for your entire family and trying to feed them with free sides. It’s like ordering a hot dog for a family of four and complaining that they stopped giving us sauerkraut and ketchup packets to feed the rest of the family. Yes, they do sell your typical teriyaki but ask for the yellow Korean menu. There are plenty of stews and other dishes. I would recommend the hand cut noodles like Jah Jang myun, Kal kook soo, and try the beef rib soup(kalbee tang) with some bulgogi(marinated thinly sliced ribeye). They have fish but it’s mackerel from Norway which most people find to be too oily and fishy. The prices for meat dishes are a little on the higher side but if you don’t want to waste the time to drive to PDX, it’s a local business to support. Without it, we are limited to only one other joint in downtown Vancouver which is like comparing a coffee shop to a Brazilian BBQ. Totally different Korean food. It’s not fancy but a good example of two people trying to make it in the US through hard work and integrity. If you can overcome the communication barrier and not be an A-hole, it will open up a whole new world for you at restaurants. Buy local!

The guy who is always there up charged me $ 7.95 on my bill when the total should have been around $ 22.Double check your bill before paying since the menu does list the prices. It was difficult explaining it to the server/owner that he over charged me because his English speaking is not very good.

I have yet to be disappointed by this place. I like their teriyaki but most especially I like their Korean food! Their bibimbap, spicy pork and kimchee stew are my most favorite.

The galbi is good but we didn’t get free sides, unusual for a korean restaurant. I’ll think twice if I want to come back.

I went to this place because it got such high ratings… but I was so mislead. This is not legit Korean food. It’s the typical japanese teriyaki. There wasn’t any short ribs and the food was so bland compared to aunthentic Korean food. There is no passion in their cooking. The people who gave such high ratings for this place have never tried real Korean food. This is your typical American interpretation of Korea… but with no flavor.

Came here 3 times in 1 month. First: Bibimbap was good. 4 stars. Got 2 sides with this. Second: Spicy Pork Bento. 2.5 stars Potatoes threw me off. Small rice portion. Did not get any sides. Bean sprouts were… avg. The sushi roll… just no. Third: Spicy Rice Cakes is huge. It’s actually good. 4 stars. I also got Ramen Noodle. it was packaged I can tell. 1.5 stars… came with some diced zucchini and onions. Lol. $ 9 for packaged and 2 veggies? 1 egg. Got 1 side… I’m a generous tipper. Why? Cause I’m a waiter. I know how it feels. First meal: $ 15⁄9 total Second meal: $ 15⁄9 total Third meal:. TBA not finished eating. Lol. Update: $ 21⁄18 total. Will I come back a 4th time? Maybe. Prob for Bibimbap. Sushi Hana. Next stop. Info above is August 2015 Bibimbap. Think I’ve had it 4 or 5 times now. It’s consistent here. 4th meal: Bibimbap, 3 sides$ 14⁄9 total 5th meal: Bibimbap, 3 sides $ 14⁄9 total 6th meal: Bibimbap, 3 sides tbh. Kimchi has no flavor this time… Everytime I come in the sides are different. Except Kimchi. The other 2 are random. So keep your expectations random. Haha. Updated from 3 stars to 4.

Loved the Spicy Soft Tofu soup! The owner was very nice and even stayed open for us when we got there late. Food came very quickly and we had this delicious corn tea to sip while waiting. Lots of food so we can take home and reheat later to eat.

I have been craving Korean food for the longest time and was a bit reluctant to try this place due to some of the reviews on Unilocal.Overall it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be but it wasn’t that good either. Just alright. Maybe it is the lack of Korean cuisine competition in Vancouver and so they don’t have to try as hard. The bibimbap tastes similar to other Korean restaurants. Nothing too special. Now the side dishes are another thing. They were bland and boring. The Korean guy I went with said the Kimchi was not good at all. He even refused to eat it! I was left to eat the side dishes by myself because I don’t like wasting food T__T The service was good. The old Korean guy is cute and timid. I really liked him. They sell heart burn medicine in the bathroom for a dollar. I have never went to restaurant that did that!

I was really excited to try this place since Korean food in Vancouver isn’t exactly abundant, but I’m not sure I’ll return. The bulgogi was pretty good, side dishes were so so(good kimchi), but the jajang meon(noodles) were awful. I’ve had it at many different places throughout my life and this was the worst. The older Korean owner avoided our table after he dropped off the food, probably because the noodles were pretty untouched. Not more than two bites were taken of it and most places wouldn’t have charged me. Service is very important to me and it was just subpar.

This is my favorite Korean restaurant! Any other Korean places I go to, I unconsciously compare to here, thinking that Korea House makes the food better. I’ve been here quite a few times, and I would order Bibimbap or Jajangmyeon. The bibimbap was flavorful, but it’s nice to spice it up even more using the chili sauce that is provided. The Dolsot bibimbap was also good, but I prefer the normal one because it comes out in a hot stone bowl, and it takes forever to eat without burning a bit of your mouth. The jajangmyeon was a bit overwhelming when you first see it, it was served in a huge bowl! But once you start eating, it’ll be gone fast. DONOTWEAR A WHITESHIRTWHENEATINGTHIS. The black bean sauce is black, and slurping will most likely happen, so don’t wear a white shirt and ask for extra napkins. The food is great, and the owners were really nice. They were attentive and patient(I always take forever to choose what I wanted to eat). I always leave with a happy feeling when eating here.

It’s alright. Not great but not bad either. It is by NOT authentic Korean food. It’s Americanized Korean COOKING. Anyone whose tasted authentic real KOREANFOOD would know. Warning: they do not have Kimbop! No green chili + Ssamjang too. Side dishes were alright too. We were only given 5 side dishes. The guy seems hesitant when we asked for more kimchi.

As it seems to be the only place in the area with the dishes i enjoy(kimchi jigae, chapchae, etc.) i tried it. I was plessed with the quality of the dishes, food was served warm and tasted pretty good. I found it a bit over priced, as i know how to cook these dishes AUTHENTICALLY, and dont see chapchae worth $ 15.00. But they are the only place in the area, so therevs not much I can do. I am very well versed in Korean cuisine, although I can’t handle the spicy, I know when it’s quality, and in terms of strictly the food, i give this place a 5 out of 10. It was good, but not like the Korean places I’ve been to in Asia. Or the homecooked meals my Ajuma friends have cooked for me. But it wasnt«American-ized» like some Asian restaurants here.(But all i tried was their Korean selection, not the Japanese stuff.) I was not really impressed with the Korean man who took our order. He appeared to be the the owner. I asked him if they had certain traditional Korean dishes, he kinda laughed and said no. He wasn’t very pleasant or accomodating. Our group felt as if we over stayed our welcome, but it was only 8PM. Each time we asked for extra kimchi, it felt like we were an inconvenience. But come on! I’ve never bern to a Korean place that scrimped on the sides. Oh well… on an EMPTY monday night, I think I hoped he would have been a little happier to see a group of people come in and order stuff. I don’t know if I’ll go back, I probably will till I find some place else.

Didnt get to try the food since the owner was rude and yelled at us saying«WECLOSE!!! LOOK(pointing to the door). TAKEOUTONLY!» then walked away. It was 9:10pm and I guess they close right on the dot at 9:00pm. Maybe they should be more aware and also turn off their ghetto neon«Open» light. I would NOT come back here ever again.

Migawon Korea House truly is a hidden gem, with some of the most affordable and authentic Korean food you’ll find in Vancouver. The restaurant itself is tiny and slightly run-down, and resembles one of those late-night shops you’d see in K-dramas(which I think is super cute). The owner and server is super sweet and friendly, always serving us promptly, politely, and asking if our meal is okay. Every time I eat at Migawon, I leave happy and thoroughly stuffed, only to wish I can come here soon again! The food here is incredible and come in very large portions with various side dishes. I’ve tried the bibimbap countless times and it’s still one of my favorites(I’ve noticed a LOT of customers tend to order this as well). Along with the kimchee stew, panju, ddeokbokki, jjangmyeon, and bentos, everything is so delicious. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the calamari, it was nothing particularly special. Otherwise, I’d like to one day try everything Migawon has to offer. The service and food will definitely have my brother and I coming back for more(we’re fans of anything Korean).

I’ve eaten here twice so far and had a good experience each time. I was always greeted by a cute, elderly man who served us barley tea. The first time I went I ordered udon noodles(not sure if it was on the menu at the time, but hey… I got what I wanted). It was so good! The second time I got bibimbap. Portion size was pretty large. The restaurant isn’t super large or flashy. It is small and cute. I haven’t been here in a while, but reviewing this restaurant is making me crave some udon!
