A great little gem tucked away in the Valley. The employees were extremely helpful and friendly (I didn’t get any names). I dropped the car off and said I’d pick it up later (I live a few miles from there) and they had offered to give me a ride back. Oil change and tire rotation was done in no time and was reasonably priced. Parking/​navigating in their lot is a bit like playing Tetris with cars, but the employees are more than accommodating to help you get in and out. Will certainly be returning for all future car needs.

UNBELIEVABLE service. I have never gotten such fast, and GOOD Service from a repair shop in my life. They even drove me to a local Starbucks so i can get my work done while they repaired my car. Great spot, so glad I found it. The squeezed me in for an alignment fix + oil change within 15 minutes of my call, plus the prices were REALLLY reasonable. Ended up needing new tires too (I knew this going in — and had planned to order them online so they were cheaper at a later day) — this spot had the same pricing I’d seen online from
and could get them on site and on my car within 24 hours. Done deal. Will definitely be back.

The mechanics at Van Nuys Autoworks took real good care of me! The service was quick, honest and truly so helpful. Alex explained to me the procedure for their safety inspection, that btw comes with a purchase of an oil change. what I can recall is that they do tire rotation as well free of charge with an oil change. Thank you for helping a car newb like me!

I didn’t know honest mechanics existed until I met Chris. I usually don’t do these review things but due to the exceptional service I received I had to do this review. I literally just signed up to write this review. Chris was extremely honest and didn’t try to sell me «other» services that weren’t needed. I asked him if I should do this and that and he said, not necessary right now. Other mechanics would have attempted to push every thing possible. If I could give them 10 star I would. «SIMPLY WONDERFUL» to know I have an honest mechanic with integrity and knowledge about their respective field. You guys are awesome and just know that you have a customer for life in me and my family. THANK YOU !

I came in all frantic because my car started making a scary noise, although I did not get work done there, they saw me right away, immediately started assessing the problem, figured it out in 15 min. and were willing to to give me a great price and come in on their day off. Wonderful mechanic. I would have gave them my business if my mother didn’t want me to go to our family friend. Honest and good hearted people.

Where to start.
Words cannot describe how Thankful I am for the kindness and honesty offered by Chris. Many Mechanics try to rob us females thinking we do not know S**t about cars.
He is officially my mechanic for life. I had to get my brakes fixed, AC was not working, Tail light was out. I called different shops and they kept quoting me an arm and a leg.
Chris asked me to bring my car in. He was so kind. Didn’t try sell me anything I did not need. Fixed my brakes, AC, light for 60% of what the other mechanics were offering. To top things off, changed my blades for free. I was so humbled by his kindness. Offered him a tip that he politely declined. I insisted he said no. Instead he requested me to be kind to others. Treat people the way I want to be treated. That is all he asked for. I insisted and said he should give the money to the guys in shop but them coffee or something. He cares about this employees. I have nothing but respect for this man and how he runs his shop.
I will be back.

I called numerous so called mechanics for 2 years looking for someone to fix and smog my Audi, for 2 years I was rejected by those wannabe mechanics. Then I met Alex by chance as I was smogging another of my cars at the nearby smog zone. I asked him if he could fix my Audi, expecting a no, and he was like, of course, go get it.
ALEX IS THE REAL DEAL. Best mechanic I’ve ever met in my life. This is a great shop, they really do treat every customer as if they’ve known you for years.
They really are the best. EFF THE REST!

Honestly, this is truly the best autoworks shop in town. I am an owner of a 2004 Cadillac CTS and I have been coming here for over 5 years now. I’ve never had an issue with the work done on my car which is surprising compared to most of the stories I hear from friends who have dealt with other shops.
The prices are more than fair, especially for how experienced and knowledgeable these guys are. Like I said, they’ve worked on my CTS more times than I can count on 2 hands and I’ve even sent them referrals, one of which had a JEEP. My buddy with a JEEP is now also a loyal customer. Chris is one of the most well rounded mechanics so don’t be afraid to ask questions.
Great service, extremely fast turnover, and great prices. They WILL take care of you!

I could not be happier with a mechanic! Chris is knowable, up front and honest! (I dare you to find all those qualities in a car guy!)
Last week I needed new breaks, done while I waited! So since I needed my 80,000 mile check and the dealership wanted more than twice what Chris quoted me it was clear where I’d be bringing my car!
From now on if I have a car issue, I WILL pass right by my old dealership and proceed directly to Van Nuys Autoworks!
It’s not that I want anything to go wrong with my car, but at least if it does I know who I can trust not to rip me off!

My car needed some work after it wouldn’t start last night. A man in the Christmas spirit gave us a jump start. I did a couple of searches online for a local mechanic, and my experience was reflective of what everyone on Unilocal has said. Chris assisted us, verified the trouble then let us know what was likely needed. The shop was packed this day after Christmas, despite that a couple of hours later my car was ready and the cost was definitely reasonable. They even took care of some small annoying issues, a inside light and my brake light. I am very relieved to have found such a good shop close to home!

I was looking to renew registration on one of my vehicles and was told by DMV I had to first get a lamp and brake check done from an authorized shop. I immediately googled it, went to the first shop that came up since I was very limited in time, It was a friday and I had to have it done that same day as the registration expired the next day.
The first place I found said they didnt do that type of work but recommended another place which I wont mention, went there right away and although the guy at that shop seemed very nice he said he could not do the check until the next day though I went in still early around 11 AM, he also said it was very complex and would take at least 2 hrs. the cost was $ 125 just to check bit it could require other fees if there were additional work needed. It started to sound really fishy and It was a good thing I didnt have that kind of money cuz If I did I probably would have done it either way since I was in a hurry to get it done.
Soon as I came home I jumped on Unilocal and found some very good reviews about this place, called up and was told by the guy over the phone he would do it for almost have the price I was quoted and he would take care of me if I brought it in within 30 – 40 mins, I rushed over there and though it was a bit far out it was well worth it, i was literraly in and out in less than 25 minutes, they replaced a couple of extra bulbs I needed one on the license plate and didnt charge me anything extra although they could have, they were very reasonable and honored the price I was given over the phone. I got out of there still in time to go to DMV and take care of the registration that same day! I would highly recommend this shop and will be going back for additional work and maintanance on my car from now on. Its hard to find honest shops now a days and this is one and one I will give my business to.

Van Nuys Autoworks did a excellent job getting my car fixed and I finally found that trustworthy mechanic!
My car was maneuvering irregularly, and I didn’t know what was causing it. I brought in my car to the folks at Van Nuys Autoworks to have them look at it. Chris was amazing at the amount of experience and how nice he is to his customers.
Anyways my car that was brought in 5 minutes later, they spotted a nail in the left rear tire after driving in Sherman oaks all day and I was ending up in van nuy promptly after the morning (I got lucky). The nail blended in so well with the tire, that I could barely see it the first time they showed it to me. They promptly removed the tired, plugged the hole, patched it, and it was good as new. It took only about 15 minutes too, and it was super cheap. I was worried I would have to buy a new tire, or worse, buy four new sets of tires like so many repair shops try to do to you. It was a quick, in-​and-​out repair job.
After having such a good experience with Chris from van nuys Autoworks im bringing my car here from now on for oil change services and brake service repair. My favorite shop now in van nuys, go there and ask for Chris!!!
