Always on Call Moving

I just had THE BEST experience. I was in a bind from a moving company’s cancellation and needed movers on a moment’s notice. I made a call at 8am and had the option to bring movers in as early as 11am. I opted for 1. Armando and Juan gave me amazing service. I cannot speak for any other employees, but they were courteous, careful with my belongings, and Armando was very friendly. I can not express how much I appreciated them being available and willing to go above and beyond to help me in my move.

Despite all the negative quotes, Always On Call Moving is a great moving company to go with. When i needed a moving company fast, Always on Call Moving was there to help. Very nice employees, and Armando is amazingly nice and generous. They had proper moving material, and handled all my belongings as if it was their own. Highly recommend this company :)

I am hesitant about hiring movers. The last movers I hired damaged my furniture. Always On Call Moving did an amazing job! Rather than paying an hourly fee I spoke to Armando about negotiating a flat rate. The move ended up taking a bit longer than expected due to several pieces of furniture that had to be taken apart and reassembled and the other being that I live on a hill so it took longer to bring the items down the steep steps. His moving crew Robert and Cristian are amazing. They did all the packing and worked overtime without complaints. I was not charged extra. My furniture was moved in immaculate condition without dents and scratches. I will definitely use them again for my next move.

I used these guys a couple of times before but after this last move I would not recommend their services I’m afraid. The move took 5 hours for a one bedroom. During the move they repacked alot of the things that I had already packed into their own wardrobe boxes, and taped up boxes that needn’t be taped up. All this was done without prior approval and they charged an extra $ 64 which I paid for because after the 5 hours I just wanted to be done with it. I paid $ 70 per hour for 3 hours, plus the $ 64.00 then tipped them. They took a total of 5 hours to move a one bedroom.
If you want to save time and money, consider renting a U-​Haul and hiring movers that wait outside the U-​Haul. They will move everything for you without ‘repacking’ things. You will save time and money. A friend said that for a one bedroom, the job was done in 3 hours and she only paid $ 200 and that includes $ 40 tip for each of the two movers. The reason its so low is because the movers keep 100% of the money they make. They are not hired through a moving company. Unfortunately I learned of this after my move was complete.

This is an update to a previous review from 11÷4÷14. I was told by Karen who is supposedly in charge that I would be refunded $ 100.00 due to the drunken mover I was sent. Guess what NO CHECK. If you want movers who go to work drunk, charge what they want, have trucks with graffiti on them, and just plain unprofessional then this is your place. I will be reporting this company to every one I can.

I scheduled a move with Always on Call 2 days before the actual move and they were even willing to accommodate me the very next day. I was moving some things out of a house into an apartment that had about 30 stairs to reach from the bottom level. Jessie, Francisco and Minor were very efficient and go to work straight away. They were friendly to my son who really wanted to help the movers. My move was done in about 4 hours. I will highly recommend them and will use them in the future for my moving needs.

That’s right, blame your poor service on traffic because it was too hard for you to show up 8am. I know this is LA but responsible people always get to work or appointments on time because we learn to schedule and plan due to traffic and distance, something you have hard time doing. myself, I am in transportation business and traffic is the worst excuse you can make. Clearly you have stated you can’t execute what you promise which was to show up 8am and which makes you a LIAR.
And since you are a LIAR, as a man, human, and a business man I can’t never take you serious and I want everyone to know you and your company can’t be trusted. And I will leave it at that because the part where you mentioned I negotiated a price is totally bs I have all our conversation on text message, yup that’s the only way you would respond because you were afraid to answer my calls. And I did end up hiring people to help me out because you left me with No choice that’s why I write all this to warn others to stay away from your company.

Moving furniture and belongings to a new home is always a headache, especially when you have a lot of it. Speaking with Lucy at Always On Call Moving provided me with a peace of mind; she was very informative, and easy to talk to. They were very helpful, friendly, and hard working. They were quick yet steady and handled all my belongings with care. Very professional at what they do. I will definitely rely on them again and refer Always On Call Moving to anyone.

I wouldn’t recommend this company to my enemies. There customer service is horrible and owner is a tool. I made and appointment and scheduled a time a week in advance. On the day of the move I was told they would arrive between 10 and 11. I ended up calling them at 11:15 and no answer. I called until someone answered and they then tell me I will have to call you back. I m waiting, they still haven’t called me back 11:35 I call them again to have them tell me they cant arrive until 2pm. I was livid, this company is a joke!!!

If I can give a negative 100 I would. This company is the biggest piece of s**t company I’ve ever dealt with. The very first time I ever used them they were great. I had them move my stuff from my house into a storage unit. A month later I called them to move my same stuff from the storage unit back into a moving truck cause I was moving back to FL.
First they never sent me the two guys I requested before. They sent two other guys that didn’t have a clue on what they were doing. They showed up to the storage unit with no furniture dolly. What movers don’t have furniture Dolly’s. So they supposedly called their boss, the «owner of the company» for a dolly but on his way to us to deliver the dolly their boss ended up doing something different so he couldn’t care less to bring the dolly to us. Then I asked them if I should pick up ratchet straps to tie the furniture down so it won’t move around or get damaged and they agreed. After they were done I take a look inside of the truck and they used the ratchet straps completely wrong. Who the hell does not know how to use ratchet straps!!! Especially a moving company. The way they used them has like If it was their first time seeing such a tool. They actually took the straps apart and tied them to the furniture to «try and hold things together». Then they had the nerve to try and charge me more than what I was quoted. They took an extra hr than what was anticipated but I told them they were gonna eat that hr cause of their boss being incompetent and not bringing the dolly over. I believe it was done purposely cause they knew it would take longer thus having to charge more. The next day when I was scheduled to take my drive towards the east coast I called the company and spoke to flor and told her of my situation. I texted her the pictures of the massive screw up that they did loading and tying down my furniture and wanted someone to come to me immediately to look at my truck before I made the long trip. She promised me that one of the owners would call me immediately but of course that never happened. I kept texting her to please call me back cause I didn’t wanna leave before her bosses looked at it and nothing. I couldn’t delay my trip any longer so I was forced to leave without their bosses looking at my truck.
So I finally get to my destination and as I’m unpacking most of my furniture is screwed up. I mean massive screw up. My furniture has deep scratches ALL OVER. Some if it is brand new furniture. Only purchased about a year ago. At this point I’m totally pissed the f**k off!!! I called the company again and flor answers. Mind u she had been ignoring my calls previous to this after I told her what happened in LA. So she then tells me that I have to email the company and she would do the same cause supposedly the bosses read the emails and then they would contact me back for a resolution. So I do that. 2 – 3 weeks pass and still no word from them. So I called flor and the company number like a crazy mad man at least 30 – 40 times and of course they go back to ignoring my calls. I texted flor to her number asking for her to call me ASAP to solve this matter and again I get ignored. So I’m forced to call the next day from a private line and guess who pics up… yep it’s flor! This time she tells me that I set up the movers myself without going thru their company so they are not liable for anything. She’s asking me a reservation number! Like WTF!!! Really!!! Your now asking me for all this info when I was in f*****g LA you didn’t ask for this??? So as I’m talking to her and pleading my case she continues to talk over me not caring about what I have to say. Her final word was go take it to court. So after all this shit that I went thru, with me being in LA the day after their movers touched my belongings asking for the owner to come thru, no actually begging for them to come thru, then me calling later after I reached my destination and finding my furniture damaged they have the nerve to say screw you and take us to court. And the funny part is the owners haven’t had the balls to contact me once yet!!! I’ve been dealing with flor this entire time!!! But now flor wants to say that I was being shady and booked their drivers behind their backs so I’m not insured with their company!!! Why the fu*k didn’t she mention that to me the next day when I was requesting for her boss to take a look at my truck??? Hopefully someone their reads this review and calls me to settle this but I seriously doubt it. It looks like I’ll be taking them to court in regards to this matter like they told me to.

The company still has my side table. They «lost» in their big truck and said they would return it when they were in the area. I’ve been calling for the last two months to get it back. They have ignored all my attempts and one of their phone numbers is phony on the website. I can’t replace my great grandma’s table. I want it back!

This review is a couple of years late. I used them at the end of July 2011 and they were great. They arrived on time and we explained to them that we could not go over the minimum hours and they didn’t. The guys were very professional and they moved everything without errors. We were moving from a three bedroom.
I’m sorry for those that had bad a bad experience with them but ours was all good. We will definitely use them again. I recommended them to two of my friends.

I was really skeptical when I first got the quote from Flor. She was so nice and it was inexpensive compared to other companies. But I booked and I’m so glad I did!!! They were right on time and were so nice! All three of the men worked hard and were efficient. They were understanding, respectful and above all PROFESSIONAL! My boyfriend received the movers in SF and also was so pleased with the work they did. Thank you guys so much. You made the move painless, I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone!

Armando is by the far the best mover I have ever dealt with & I’ve moved several times over the last 10 years. I called him in somewhat of a panic because I was in need of scheduling a move with only a week’s notice and Armando and his crew made it happen «without breaking a sweat». His word was good regarding his arrival time all the way through to payment time. His pricing is very fair and his service is impeccable. I will not use any other moving company from this point forward! I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone, you will be very pleased with his service.

I’ve used several moving companies. This company was by far the most professional and hard working company I’ve ever used. And great pricing!

Apparently, the last weekend in June is the busiest moving day of the year. Who knew?! We had movers lined up, however, our date shifted several times and finally fell on the last day of June. I called many places and was turned down as they were all booked. After reading the reviews on Unilocal,I found Always on Call Moving and called Armando who was able to squeeze us into the schedule. He was very polite and reassuring on the phone.
Armando’s crew, Nelson and Maynor, showed up during their scheduled time for our move. They did a quick assessment of the layout and immediately got to work. While we disassembled furniture, these guys took care of everything else. We told them from the morning that we’d be providing them with lunch, and they were so professional, that they demanded to work through lunch. We refused to let that happen and convinced them to take a lunch break.
Great guys. Great overall experience. I will definitely be calling Armando again for my future moving needs. He’s the real deal with the best price.

Armondo is fantastic. My husband and I were moving from Los Feliz to Glendale last December and a friend referred us here. We got a great quote from Armondo (no one could match it).
As we were packing we realized we had waaaaayy more crap than your average one bedroom. And a lot of it weighed a TON. It was seriously like moving a house.
Armondo came by, saw everything and very kindly and humbly said, «I know I gave you a quote. I stand by my word, but just so you know this is almost double the work for that price. I’m letting you know just in case you want to offer a little extra when we’re done. It would be greatly appreciated.»
I thought that was a very classy way to handle it because I’m sure as soon as he arrived he was like #@$%!
We were already planning on offering more. It was seriously ridiculous what they moved for that price (even with the extra $$). Everything got through the move in perfect condition.
I highly recommend this place. I wanted to review it on Unilocal a long time ago but I thought the name was «Always On Time Moving» and couldn’t find the listing here. My husband just alerted me that «time» was actually «call» :P

I love these guys! Armando is super professional, courteous, and amazingly good at moving big stuff carefully and efficiently.
He and two other gentlemen showed up at my house at the expected time, called first, gave me a great deal, and then carefully wrapped all of my belongings before loading them into the truck.
They met me at the new apartment and were communicative and helpful again when they unloaded.
This is my second move in two months. The last service was okay, but I didn’t feel prompted to take the time to write a review on here.

Today is my 3^rd time using them to move. Like always, they are on time. Sometimes early. They were 30 mins early today. I was trying to discourage them and take their time since I wasn’t done packing. Armando was part of the crew again. He has always taken good care of my stuff. I didn’t sleep the night before because I was feverishly packing. I’m a bit delirious and extremely tired while writing this review. But I have to say I really love this moving company. And no I don’t work for them and none of my friends or family work or own a stake in this company. I am writing this review because I really admire their quickness and professionalism. Of course keep in mind they do charge extra for supplies but that’s most places and it’s not that much. I usually have extra bubble wrap and boxes for them to use. Anyways, I genuinely recommend this company. I will use them again.

Office staff was nice enuf and the movers worked fast but they destroyed my desk, waterbed headboard and wouldn’t even give me information to file a claim even after flor said she emailed it to me. The owner refused to come view the damage in normal business hours because of traffic?
Had to file a small claims suit for the damages. If time is important then your good to go with this company, if you value your furniture then definately don’t choose this one.

I had a great experience. Friendly and prompt service! I felt like the movers were moving quickly and efficiently. They also took items to my storage (w/​out an extra charge). The cost was low compared to others I received quotes from.

I called the company for a move this month.
The lady on the phone was very nice and friendly, but somehow there was a disconnection between her and the movers
1. They did not arrive on time, turned out they didn’t even know about the move
2. Once they got here, they said tapes needed to be charged additionally. $ 3/​roll.
3. They took a long time going back and forth and were very inefficient in terms of moving things.
4. AFTER they moved most of the stuff, THEN they stated they couldn’t move the piano and needed to call in 2 additional movers. (which i made VERY clearly on the phone before the move with the lady that I had an upright piano to move and was promised it wasn’t a problem)
I’m a college graduation and had only one bedroom worth of things. The destination location was only 15 minutes away. It took them more than 4 hours to finish the job.
In my opinion, I wouldn’t recommend this company due to their inefficiency (intentional or not). Of course unless you are not paying out of your own pocket, any company would be more ideal than moving by yourself.
p. s. my piano was not wrapped properly and was scratched on the bottom. oh and to my recent discovery, one of the keys doesn’t work anymore.

Armando has helped me move 3x already and I highly recommend Always on Call Moving! They are professional, efficient, and very hard workers. They will do whatever it takes or however long it takes to get the job done! I can assure you that no task or move is too large or small for them! I am very satisfied customer and extremely happy with their services and will gladly refer anyone I know that needs movers. I can’t speak more highly of anyone! Armando is and always will be my FIRST and ONLY call when it comes to a move! Call him… you won’t be disappointed! :)

Professional and quick movers. They did a great job relocating our 2 bedroom apartment from LA to Oakland. Everything was handled with care and I would definitely recommend using them for any move.

I received a quote a few days before my move, and I was pleased they were able to accomodate my schedule with a few days of notice. Antonio and Francisco arrived promptly at 9am and got to work. I had a couch that had to be hoisted down over my 2^nd fl balcony, and they also had to remove the glass panes from my window to get the couch into the new apt! Nevertheless, they moved quick and worked hard on a very hot summer day. They protected everything with Saran wrap and broke down/​rebuilt my furniture quickly. I would recommend this company to anyone. Also Francisco went over the costs at the beginning and the total was what I expected. Good job, guys!
