I had this company out at my house twice. First visit was for an estimate about cleaning the air conditioning unit and ducts. First of all they knew my unit was old and out dated and quoted me more than $ 2,500 to do the service that would have be a total waste of time and money. At that price i could my have bought a new 2 ton unit and had $ 400+ left in my pocket. The second time they came out i only needed to get the fan blower unit fixed. After the repairs were done the price was doubled what their quote was. At 1^st I thought they did a good job but after using it for a week, i realized the tech wired the blower wrong so instead of exhausting the air out of my house, it was blowing hot air into my house. I called them starting fairly early in the morning only to get this second rate answering service and of course my call had yet to be returned so I called again a few hours later. Still no return call. Called for the 3^rd time after about 2 more hours and have yet to get my call returned. They are quick to take your money but no response to fix issues they screwed up. Do yourself a favor and forget this company and look for someone more honest that does quality work.

My air conditioning wasn’t working. I called Airflow on the recommendation of a friend — AFTER another company gave me an estimate to replace my air conditioning /​heating unit. The first company gave me a quote that was way more than I had expected AND way more than I could afford.
Airflow came out ONLY to give me a second estimate. To my surprise and delight, I was told the unit DID NOT need to be repaired OR replaced. Instead, Gabriel said I needed ONLY a new thermostat! Unbelievable! He returned later that same day and installed a new thermostat. Instead of paying $ 10,000 that the first company quoted, I only spent $ 250! I was overwhelmed. This hot weekend I had a chance to try out the new thermostat. My air conditioning worked great!
I was told IF I ever needed a new unit in the future, Airflow would charge about HALF what the other company quoted. I definitely will return to Airflow. I was impressed with the company’s knowledge, professionalism and honesty — three qualities a company needs for my recommendation.

Have used these guys fir over twenty years. they just serviced my AC and heater, which they installed five years ago. They have always been friendly, and do the best work of anyone.

These guys are the best! At the end of a long, sweltering day in the San Fernando Valley, after working all day at other jobs, Francisco and his son, also Francisco, came to our house at 9:00 pm and fixed our air conditioner. The had to replace the motor — and they had one on the truck — and then they unclogged the drain, and, presto! cold air! They stayed until a little after 11, making sure that the job was completed and that everything worked. They were friendly, upbeat, and professional. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Of course my AC went out on 4^th of July weekend. I live in the Valley and AC is a must. I called to leave a message at 11:30PM and was pleasantly surprised they had an answering services, I talked to a live person and scheduled a repair person for the next morning.
The company called the next morning at 9AM and the technician was there at 10:30. The technician Joe was professional, very knowledgeable, and fixed our unit. He topped off the freon, cleaned the coils, replaced a cap, and explained the process.
He had us up and running in under an hour.
I highly recommend Airflow Air Conditioning for all of your residential cooling needs.

Wow. This is my first review ever on Unilocal-I’m writing because Gabriel at airflow deserves to recognized for outstanding service. My AC wasn’t working so I made an appt for another company to service it however they were unavailable for a couple of days. My boyfriend contacted airflow at about 5:30pm and by 7pm Gabriel was here, took care of the problem and now I’m good to go. This is an experience I wish I had every time in the service industry. Quick, efficient, knowledgeable, reasonable. Thank you Gabriel and Airflow. Job well done.

I cannot say enough great things about this company (AKA as EJ Service).
I have several rental properties in LA and use EJ for all of the maintenance and repairs. They are always prompt, clean, and honest. They give me options that do not break the bank. Yesterday, at my personal residence, our Lennox system died. We called EJ right away but they could only come the next am so we got another company to come our right away. As it turns our, EJ was better priced and got the «special order» part within ONE HOUR (the other guy said it would take 48 hours). Better price and quicker – yeah – EJ rocks. Hugo, our technician, was incredible. Very friendly, knowledge and went above and beyond for us. THANK YOU!

We had a tricky problem with our air conditioner. There was one wire going to the AC unit that had a very small tear on the plastic outer wire. The first fellow that came thought he fixed the problem, however, the next day we were again faced with zero air conditioning. Airflow sent the service person back, and again he thought he fixed the problem, only to find he had NOT. Then on the third revisit, out came their top service person, Gabriel, he looked, and looked — and he found the very small tear in the wire. He took that piece of wire off, and «VOILA!» we had air conditioning one those very hot Los Angeles days! I highly recommend the company, not only were the service people responsive, but the office staff was patient and polite. After getting estimates and poor work from a series of unqualified but properly licensed air conditioning contractors, we finally resorted to speaking to the head office of American Standard to find out why our system could not be fixed by anybody. They recommended Airflow as qualified technicians to diagnose the problem.
Hugo came out and worked fast and competently, finding all the errors of the previous contractors. He showed us the components that had been installed incorrectly, using non American Standard parts. It took about a day and a half of hard work, but at the end we are delighted to have a system that works like it should.
We only wish we had known not to use those other guys, who made thousands on our installation that never did work properly.

If you are checking Unilocal reviews because you quickly need A/​C repair, based on my experience yesterday BETTER TO KEEP LOOKING FOR A BETTER COMPANY NOW.
For those who want the details: set an appointment on Friday for a tech to come Saturday at 2 PM. Unfortunately on Saturday both the company tech and appointment coordinator (with RESTRICTED phone number) called at 12:50 and 12:51 pm to confirm our appointment. But at 12:50 I was pumping gas and missed both calls. Because only the tech’s phone number was on my display I called him back twice and left voice mails, AND text him back saying, «YES, OUR APPOINTMENT IS CONFIRMED– PLEASE COME AT 2 PM.»
Finally at 4:30 PM I called the company primary phone number and got the answering service. Within one minute the appointment coordinator called me (again restricted number) saying, «I’ve tried calling you and calling you (she actually called once). In some form of twisted logic she actually insinuated that it was MY FAULT that the appointment was missed???
By the time the tech showed up at 5:30 PM I did not even answer the door. JUST TOO MANY RED FLAGS. From experience I know that when it starts out this badly…
it does not get any better.
I seriously hope Airflow A/​C reads this review. PLEASE tell me WHY your appointment coordinator is hiding behind a RESTRICTED number???

Another scorching day in the San Fernando Valley, and my wife and 2 kids had to go to a friends house because our brand new air conditioning system stopped working. Gabriel came out and took care of our system to get it working at least so I can give the company who installed it a call on Monday and get them to take care of warranty work. He even wrote down notes for what I should tell them the issues are that they need to fix. By the way, he got to our house on a Saturday within an hour of me calling them. Super-​fast and super efficient!

Very bad experience with this company. They asked me to pay $ 683 to find a leak in my air conditioner that I was able to see by just looking at the unit. I declined their $ 683 offer and asked them to just solder the leak closed and fill the unit with R22 freon. They charged $ 650 to charge my air conditioner with 8 lbs of freon; a shocking cost for freon considering other companies I called charged half that amount. Unfortunately I checked the cost after letting them fill the unit — a lesson well learned, always check prices first.
I will never do business with these guys again. I consider their sales tactics deceptive and their prices outrageous.

Oh Unilocal,you got me! During a recent heatwave, my A/​C stopped working (this doesn’t usually happen in the winter). I needed someone to come out and look over the central air unit. I headed to Unilocal and found this company with glowing reviews (albeit only 3) in my neighborhood and gave them a call.
I was quoted a price of $ 79 to perform a diagnostic test on the unit, I agreed and I was able to get someone to come out a few days later on a Saturday morning. The technician showed up during the agreed upon time frame.
The technician hooked up a power meter to the condenser and within seconds said the circuit was tripped. I felt so stupid that I didn’t think to look at the breaker box. We went inside the house and sure enough the circuit was tripped and we had a laugh but I was relieved that it was nothing major. We went back outside and he noticed a wire coming off a binding post in the condenser, he grabbed a pair of pliers and slid the wire back in place securely. While he was there he was telling me that I should perform maintenance twice a year on the unit, he told me what they charge and I was considering having them come out to do the work. Until…
He came back from his truck with the invoice of $ 160.50! I questioned why I was quoted $ 79 on the phone but was billed over double. The bill says he performed a «repaired minor problem under 30 minutes no parts used». He told me that what they charge. He suggested I should call the office on Monday and see if they would make an adjustment. I called and to their credit they did get back to me. I questioned how flipping a circuit and sliding a wire justifies and additional $ 80. They said they would be willing to send me a check for $ 40 for the overcharge, which in my opinion should really be $ 80, because I really don’t see how this is anything more than a diagnostic test, but it’s better than nothing. Well it’s been over 3 weeks now and still no check, even after a follow up call. It’s clear to me I’ll never see any refund and they will never get my business again.
The kicker to all this is the very next day my house still wasn’t getting cool, I checked the thermostat and realized something was wrong. I reset it myself, since they didn’t check that and it seemed to get cooler after that.
Update: Within a few days of my review I did receive my refund, so to be fair I updated my rating.

Our thermostat was old so we decided to replace it ourselves. Bad idea. This was a Saturday night and by 10pm we had no power to the old or new thermostat and no way to turn on the AC at all. Bummer yes, but we were also having a birthday party at the house the next day, so we needed someone to come out Sunday morning and fix what we broke. I called at least 10 AC repair companies on Saturday night and Sunday morning and left messages. Airflow was the ONLY one who returned my call and thank goodness they came out and replaced our fuse right as the first guests were arriving.
They were prompt, reasonable and seemed honest. I appreciate that they actually made time for us last minute on a Sunday and didn’t even charge extra. They gave our AC unit a clean bill of health so for now we’re good, but I wouldn’t hesitate to call them again in the future.

We had interviewed several AC installers before we had encountered Airflow. What impressed us the most about Airflow was that Gabriel had took his time to measure the house before he gave an official estimate. Other installers did not spend that kind of time, and some contractors had even asked us what we were willing to spend for this project without taking any measurements. Another aspect we liked about Airflow was that they always answered our questions and concerns about the project, and they promptly returned our calls.
When it came to the quality of work, Airflow did an excellent job. The installers were always punctual and polite. They did an outstanding job in cutting the plaster ceiling to install the ducts, and they managed to finish the project within three days. We are extremely satisfied with our new HVAC system, and we strongly recommend Airflow to do the job.

They came back to fix the problem even though I had paid them in full. on timely manner.

Where do I begin? Our 4 year old air conditioner went on the fritz and after 2 shady HVAC providers, Airflow came to the rescue and did an outstanding job!!! The technician Gabriel was a true professional who came on a holiday weekend and stayed with us until the job was done!!! He is very knowledgable, extremely hardworking and committed to his customers. And after 7 hours of labor, the expense was well worth the price! What more can I say??? We are customers for life.

This company is top notch! We use them at my work and then they came and worked in my home. They are honest, efficient (ha-​ha, pun intended) and don’t sell you things you don’t need. They’ve repaired a fairly old HVAC system and it keeps running. They also installed a brand new awesome HVAC system in the attic of our 2 story home last summer. Their work was perfect. We especially like Rommel who runs the office and keeps the guys in the field on schedule. I have recommended this company to many people and would do so without any reservation. ADVISE: lower costs is not always the right answer.
