Valley Park Elevator & Hardware

This is a great little hardware store that has a bit of everything. I usually go here for propane or the random nut/​bolt. The folks who work there are pretty laid back but very helpful. Recently I rented a dethatcher and not only got help loading/​unloading it and good instructions how to best use it.
They might be a bit pricey vs the big box but the convenience, friendliness, and knowledge more than make up for it.
I just wish their outside fence area wasn’t covered in advertising. Makes the area look cheap.

It is hard to believe that there are no reviews for this nostalgic, small town feel hardware store!
This is not your big box, get everything you need home store. It is the Straub’s of hardware stores. Visiting here is like going back in to the 1940’s. The place is old and the staff has about as much character as the aged wood floors.
The best thing about stopping in here is the convenience. Instead of having to walk miles to get what you need, you can park and take ten steps inside. It is limited in selection, but if you need something basic, it is a quick stop.
I have become mostly a regular patron based on their grass seeds, fertilizer and gypsum. These items are available here and not at most other hardware stores. And the prices are very fair, if not better than other places.
This place is not a one stop shop, but it is nice to have a hardware store where you can get specialty or basic items quick and at a fair price.
