Step Up Music is a modern teaching space offering one-​on-​one and group instructions for people of all ages and abilities. We specialize in Guitar, Bass, Piano, Violin, Drums, Vocals and more. We also offer band camps, music seminars, concerts, and jam sessions. We have big recitals and rock shows.

History

Established in 2009.

Step Up Music Vallejo was founded by bassist and educator Ariane Cap. Ariane has been teaching music for 15+ years. She is a sought after instructor for clinics and seminars as well as for private instruction. In creating Step Up Music vallejo she has fulfilled her vision of creating a bright and cheerful place for music instruction that includes other handpicked teachers and group classes for children.

She believes:

* that making music is a fun and healthy activity at any age

* that encouragement and motivation are key

* that a two-​prong approach is best:

— traditional teachings built after the European conservatory model delivering a solid foundation of theory, reading and repertoire

— an innovative approach inspired by the ORFF method, Victor Wooten’s Bass Nature Camp and by co-​teaching and collaborating with world stars: based on improvisation, learning by ear and by rote, learning music like a language

* that a music school should be a safe, friendly and inviting space

Meet the Business Owner

Ariane C.

Business Owner

A trailblazing female bassplayer she has inspired many women to pick up the ‘axe’. She plays in several Bay Area bands and teaches piano, bass and group classes at Step Up Music.

Born and raised in Innsbruck, Austria, Ariane has been musically active since the age of five, playing classical piano and flute.
