Just a Simple Cupcake

Had a very pleasant experience with Just a Simple Cupcake. My sister’s baby shower was coming up and she wanted cupcakes from this bakery because of the unique Filipino flavors.
I had ordered 3 dozen cupcakes for my sister’s baby shower. Buko pan Dan, ube and Turon cupcakes were delicious! The cupcakes were dense in a good way, but not too sweet. Ube flavor was very subtle. Turon cupcakes had a crispy fried garnish on top, which added to the aesthetics of the cupcake. Each cupcake was simply topped with buttercream frosting. Yum!
The price was reasonable. A dozen cupcakes for $ 24, which is not too bad compared to other bakeries in the Bay Area. Delivery fee was $ 8 to Richmond/​Pinole area, but $ 6 if you’re in Solano County. I was so happy that the cupcakes made it to my house safely and in beautiful condition.
Minus one star because there was some miscommunication regarding cupcake flavors. Emails back and forth was helpful, though. Also, my sister called JASC the day of delivery to confirm some details, but they did not respond/​call back.
What I really appreciated, though, was that JASC included cake toppers for the cupcakes. I ordered the cupcakes a couple weeks in advance, so they did not have the cake stand available to rent anymore, but they threw in the free decorations, which was really nice.

A friend of mine actually surprised me one day at work & bought me a whole bunch of different flavors of cupcakes from these guys. All of them were delicious! I love, love, LOVE their Turon cupcake! I used to have to drive all the way to Napa to get cupcakes that I actually liked. But this place definitely beats Sift

Really unique flavors in this Philipino cupcake truck. It’s like a tiny trailer on Travis AFB on Fridays and have deemed it Cupcake Friday. Me likey! Cupcakes were flavorful and moist and not over the top like most places. Just the perfect amount of icing.

I first had their cupcakes at the Suisun Farmers Market two years ago and I been hooked on Turon cupcakes ever since. I tell everyone about them. I even drove across the bay just to get a cupcake from them once. YES, they are that good.

Another delicious trip! Way better than Kara’s cupcakes and a much better price! Vanilla cookies and cream is our favorite! And the owners are fantastic people! Highly recommended!

The Taro Cupcake is to die for. I do not drive over a hour for nothiing. But the «ube» is the NOT the same! If they do not have TARO cupcakes, it won’t be addictive. They only had red velvet and ube the last time I saw them at the Vallejo farmer’s market.
I wish they always had ube. Its heavenly and I cannot find it anywhere else. I even tried making them. I heard its a taro powder. If you see Taro Cupcakes here, buy a least a dozen! So yummy.

Turon, buko pandan and ube were delicious. Did not disappoint. Moist tasty not too sweet.

We saw them at Vallejo Farmers Market and spoke to the owners Raffi and sorry I forgot the lady’s name. But they were both very professional and very informational. I bought the mix, Buko, ube and another flavor it was yummy, my kids was fighting over them. Anyways my fiancée and I are going to do a tasting with them and possibly hire them for our wedding.

OMG! I bought a trio of Red Velvet Cupcakes at the Vallejo Farmer’s Market. And they were DELICIOUS!!! Usually, I can’t find red velvet cupcakes that taste right, but these cupcakes are delicious and the cream cheese frosting is deliciously creamy and not overbearing. I definitly would buy more and I want to try different flavors. Awesome little jewel in Vallejo!

I’m sure I will be upgrading this 4 star review to 5 soon… but i need to get a few more flavors under my belt before i pass the ultimate judgment.
pricing is fastastic. 3 cupcakes for $ 6 and these things aren’t tiny. and they don’t skimp on the frostings/​toppings either.

1^st time I passed up this cupcake stand because his line was so long. I was with my daughter Meagan & she came back telling me we had to turn back & taste the cupcake samples. OMG! We have become Cupcake Groupies!!! This may sound crazy but my family now picks our Weekend activities based on where Just a Simple Cupcake will appear! He even came to my work & was a hit. My coworker hired him for her daughters Bridal Shower Tea party & the cupcakes were perfect… My all time favorite one is Turon!

Came across a random cupcake stand by pleasant hill Bart. I thought it would be regular cupcakes but to my surprise there were very unique flavors. Ube, turon, Buko, Lanka and etc. being Filipino I knew these favors and never thought it would be made in cupcakes! I haven’t seen them for awhile in pleasant hill Bart stations. If you come across them give it a try!

These cupcakes are very moist and delicious! I met this family at the Fairfield Farmers Market back in October 2011. I talked to them in length about their story on how their business got started. They are a lovely Filipino family that make a lovely, great tasting cupcake. I am not a huge fan of cakes for dessert, mostly because many cakes I’ve tried are too dry or overpowered by the heavy frosting! This cupcake is moist and not too sweet. The frosting is a creamy, light, buttercream with just the right touch of added sweetness. I will order cupcakes here for future family gatherings because my family loves sweets! These cupcakes are so delicious and reminiscent of the desserts from my childhood. The Turon cupcake is so moist and the Lanka or jackfruit frosting is just to die for. This is a local business owned by awesome people. You gotta try them. My personal fave is the Ube or taro cupcake! I would kill for Ube cupcakes and believe you me… I had murder in my eyes after scarfing down one of these! Hahahaha!
They deliver and just need 24 hours notice. Raffie is awesome nice. Let’s promote and support!

Great people and even more great cupcakes. I met them today in Livermore and tried the ube (purple yam) cupcakes. Yummmmm this is the best.
