Matthew’s Moving & Storage

I had contacted 3 moving companies in Santa Clarita. Others seem to be not on time, slow to give estimates etc. I didn’t want to hire a company that was so slow initially.
INSPECTION & ESTIMATE: My friend Nick, from local storage company recommended Matthew. After I contacted him he was there right away. Very thorough in home inspection and worked with me on the dates. I needed some boxes and they personally delivered it. Owner was prompt on emails, professional on phone calls, and really maintained timing as he said.
PACKING: I hired them for full service packing and moving. Jason and his crew were fantastic. They were efficient and took care with all materials. The 3 person crew didn’t waste time chatting etc. They were on time and got down to business and labeled everything. I had a couple of issues while packing, and I liked they were honest and owned up to the mistakes right away, which I was very pleased with.
They moved everything to storage carefully and in a timely manner.
Once we unpack, I will update the review .
So far, we have been very pleased with them. Are they the cheapest? No. However if you want to pay for quality, good customer service, and if you value your time, I would recommend this company 100%

Reliable, extremely knowledgeable and professional. I had to move 2 large storage units from Culver City to Canyon Country and I was dreading the move. Matt arranged for 2 trucks and 4 guys to meet us in Culver City at 7am. (UGH the traffic) they were right on time and to my surprise and relief these 4 guys made the move easy and painless for me. We completed the move by 2:45. I highly recommend Mathew’s Moving & Storage!!! I would not use anyone else!

I highly recommend Matthew’s Moving & Storage. It was a fantastic experience. Not only did they pack us up but only moved us from Santa Clarita to Bakersfield, CA. This company treats your belongings as if they were their own. We had to reschedule our move three times but the owner, Matthew, worked with us with no problems.

We were extremely impressed with Matthew and his crew. On time, hustled throughout the job, wouldn’t take a «free» lunch break as we offered, no damage and very professional from arrival to departure.
No! we did not receive any «freebies» in exchange for a positive review. This company is truly a FIVE STAR team and on top of it all… very friendly.

Used this moving company last week. And ended up having my wife’s wedding ring stolen! Matthew the owner stated in a previous post that he oversaw the move and assures that it was not taken by him or his 2 workers. My wife placed the wedding band and engagement ring in the same place but after the move only the wedding band was taken. Hey Matthew if u didnt take it then you know either your son or your other worker took it. Of course, your not going to admit to stealing it cuz your going to be put in jail.
So for anyone who used these guys to move. think back if something possibly was missing.
And if anyone in the future even thinks of using these guys — GOOD LUCK!!!

I would easily give more stars if they were available. Matthew has moved me three times and each time has been a great experience. Some in very difficult times. This last move was by far the hardest. Seven truck loads, three hundred boxes and many men over three days. As always I knew that we would be in good hands. Matt and his men treat our belongings as if they were their own. Some of our items are very valuable, and Matt, his son Zach and the crew were extremely careful, to make sure they were protected. Not only was this a difficult move because we are still under construction, but had to move out of our old home… since we could not stay in our new home and had to stay in a hotel for awhile, Matt and his crew came back when we could move in cleaned floors, set up furniture, and put each box in the room it would be used. It has been over a month since we started this move, and today Matt and Zach came back again to set up the master bedroom for us… they cleaned the floors, dusted furniture, set up the bed, and moved all of the boxes (after dusting them) that we will use. We are still under construction, and I swear we will never move again the nursing home or the morgue for us, but if I did have to move I would wait until Matt had an available day! In closing I do not usually write reviews, but I heard about the unfortunate circumstance that another posted. I can only say that I hope this person checks carefully all of her moving boxes, papers, bags, trash, etc. Even the vacuum bag, because one thing I am sure of is that where ever her ring is, Matt nor his crew has it, period! If he did find something of value, while moving someone, I have absolutely no doubt that he would put it in the owners hands immediately. Matt is a honorable, and trustworthy businessman who values his reputation, and that of his business, and strives to set a good example for his son Zach, and his longtime employees. He deserves many more stars!!!

On 12/​28, we trusted Matthew’s Moving to help us with our move. Unfortunately, my worst nightmare happened when my engagement ring conveniently disappeared the same day we let three strangers (Matt, Isodoro, and Zach) in to our home. I am confident and 100% sure that I left it where it was before the movers arrived but it was my mistake for being so trusting and left it where it was visible.
Please I’m begging, to the person that took my ring, if you still have a heart and conscience, return my ring. I am not looking to hold someone responsible but just want it back no questions asked. Its sentimental value is irreplaceable and worth more than money can buy. My heart is aching and a piece of me have been taken away forever.

Best price, no pressure. I had to move from Canyon Country to Glendale. They were on time and professional.

Hired these guys to help me, with a semi difficult move. The movers were able to get all my things out, in the amount of time they estimated, without damaging anything which is extremely important and there were no extra or hidden fees.

This company has great service and an outstanding price per hour compared to other residential movers. The owner, Matt, is «hands on» and very accommodating. Helpful, friendly crew of 3 arrived at our former home on time and did the move an hour under budget. Would recommend them to anyone in the area they serve.

Well, it turns out I didn’t live in the apartment that long. This time, due to my worsening physical disability and eroding sanity, I couldn’t bend or lift or care enough to pack my own boxes, and I needed the «full service» treatment where they pack everything that isn’t nailed down, and you feel like the laziest person in creation, made even worse by their indomitable good nature and obvious attention to detail.
Seriously, like, you don’t even have to unhook your stereo or fold your laundry or take off your Tweety Bird pajamas. It’s unbelievable how quickly they work, we’re talking Navy Seals coordination. I blinked and two gargantuan bookshelves disappeared instantly. Entire stacks of priceless IKEA dishes spun themselves into cushy paper clumps as Jason held his arm out toward the cabinet and concentrated, sweat forming on his brow.
Matt should open up a franchise called The Couch Whisperers and just revolutionize the entire moving industry by just being nice and having a work ethic. Moving is seriously one of the most stressful, nerve-​shredding things you can do, even without some fly-​by-​night jerkwads preying on your vulnerability and ignorance.
Don’t let the bad guys take advantage of you. Just call Matt as soon as it’s light out, and just put this stress behind you, okay? Spend the rest of your day sitting out in the sun thinking «Man I’m super glad I listened to Jake K’s advice. What a nice guy. And so handsome!»

Our third time using this company and we couldn’t be happier! These guys are great and they are so careful, professional and friendly. Very punctual and work none stop. They really know what they are doing also as far as assembling and disassembling your furniture. I would use them again anytime. One of the times I used them was after 4 ½ years and it was the same group which means they probably like their job and are treated well by the company. Highly recommend.

This company is great. I have moved my mom 5 times over the last few years and just recently moved back to Cali from Texas so I have dealt with many different movers. This is hands down the best moving company I have ever used. They were on time, super friendly, clean and quick. Priced right for 3 guys. I will always used this company if possible.

I was extremely happy with the service I received from Matthew’s Moving and I’ve recommended them to several of my friends and family that have moved in this area. They were punctual, efficient and moved all of my items without causing any damage to my furniture or to my new place. I would definitely use them again.

Matthew’s moved me from my Valencia home to my Saugus home in 4.5-hours and it was the best $$ my wife and I could have ever spent. Matthew’s was flexible with a reschedule I needed due to a delay with my escrow company and come moving day they were on-​time, professional and fast.
My crew consisted of Carlos, Matthew (not the owner) and Izzy. These three were amazing in every way. I will recommend Matthew’s to anybody who is in the market for a move. Top Notch!

Matthew’s Moving is such a great moving company. I moved on a Wednesday morning and the guys were super nice about getting their truck into the tight alley behind my apartment and moving the truck every 10 minutes to let out a neighbor trying to get to work. They were extremely efficient and had plenty of blankets and wrappings to make sure nothing got broken or scratched. Plus they were willing to make a stop on the way to my new house to drop off a fridge I no longer needed.
Matt was also super nice and made sure to follow up and confirm the appointment.
I will definitely be using Matthew’s again in the future!

Sorry to be the downer here but I just can’t recommend this company. The people on the phone were friendly, the price was good, the movers were fine and worked in a decent pace, but many of my furniture pieces are banged up. I hired them in October of 2013 and as I’ve been getting settled in my new home, I have found dresser drawers that don’t fit properly in their tracks anymore, a cabinet drawer that doesn’t close, plus scratches, nicks and dings on a lot of my stuff! Not cool.
Reply to Matt W.- No doubt 8 months is too late to make a formal complaint to your company for claims/​repairs. Due to unforseen circumstances (like family illness and death), I was not able to settle into my home for months after using your services. Hence why I caught damages so much later. Thanks for your reply.

My fourth move with Matthews — moving is such a pain and this company makes it just a bit better! My move date fluctuated a lot and Matt was awesome to work with. As I called and switched dates and put dates on hold, he was so easy to work with an even proactively called me when they had new dates open up! I told my husband I will plan everything (painters, carpeting, etc) around Matthew’s, because making sure the move is done by them is a priority. I love these guys that much.
The day of the move we hired one truck and three guys. Turns out it is the three guys who have done all of my previous moves. They are so awesome to work with and are about one move away from being invited to our house for Thanksgiving. They move so quickly and appear to be experts in breaking down, moving, and setting up fridges, washer/​dryers, and any kind of bed and furniture.
I always knew the guys at Matthews were great, but I don’t think I fully appreciated it until a few days later. Other movers from a big-​named moving company came into our house to move out a fridge. The guys were far less friendly and seemed a bit stumped as to how to take the handles off our fridge and move it out of our home. Lots of blank stares and shrugging of shoulders between these two guys. All I could think of is how quickly one of Matthew’s guys took the door and handles off our fridge and got it ready for moving. These guys know what they’re doing.
