Dyno-Tune

Scott at dyno-​tune is the only mechanic in town that I trust. Competitive pricing and work that I can trust will bring me back.

I took my car here because it was making a godawful grinding noise (it turns out that the muffler had rusted through). The initial estimate didn’t take too long, and the price Scott quoted to replace the muffler was about the same as what the Nissan dealership wanted. Overall, these guys were honest and professional and got the work done pretty quickly.
(This place is only a couple minutes’ walk from Lincoln Square, so it’s really convenient to use the bus system while your car is in the shop.)

These guys did a great job, fast, and at a fair price. This is where I will take my cars from now on.

I have had primarily good experiences with this garage. I was referred by a female family member on the reputation that they don’t talk down to people who don’t know cars very well. Every visit I’ve had there has been positive, with the employees being knowledgeable and thorough. They have some of the best pricing in town as well.
On my last visit, I came in for a wobbling wheel sound. They replaced a wheel bearing, but the problem continued. They did mention that I should also look at some new tires, so it could be that the sound was being caused entirely by bad tires. I was somewhat disappointed that the problem wasn’t fixed, but I can’t say that I tried everything.
All things considered, a good place.

I just moved into town and needed somewhere to take my 1995 Honda Accord for some routine maintenance – oil change, transmission service, tires rotated and balanced, and a 4-​wheel alignment. I also had noticed what might be a small oil leak, and needed that checked out as well. I called around to 6 different places, and Dyno-​tune was the most affordable. I was able to get an appointment for the next day, and brought my car in Friday around 9AM. They were incredibly nice to deal with both on the phone and in person, and I got to talk to the same person each time I called (owner Randy WIlson). I was charged exactly what I was quoted, with no hidden fees or charges. As well, Randy said the leak was minor and it wouldn’t be worth it to pay several hundred dollars to fix it given the age of the car. I felt he was very honest and never tried to take advantage of the fact that I’m a 22-​year old woman without tons of knowledge about my car. I’ll definitely be taking my car here next time it needs work!

I just wish you could give a place no stars. I think they screwed me on the tune up I got there. Then I took my car to get a fluid leak checked. They said some hoses were loose and replaced the hose clamps (for $ 60!!!). I later found the leak myself and it was a crack in my coolant reservoir. I went to bitch them out and they wouldn’t give me my money back.
I would suggest no one ever takes their car there.
