Excellent fresh fish and fantastic service! I had no idea this great find was nearby! We’ll be back for sure!

We called Sushi Takumi on Saturday around 5:30PM. They said they were too busy to take any to-go orders. We’ve ordered sushi to-go every month for years now. We decided to use Unilocal and see what other sushi options we had in the Upland area. We went with the exact same order as Sushi Takumi. 4 rolls, side of rice, house salad, and miso soup. Where Sushi Takumi is usually $ 55, our bill was $ 31.59 + a tip from Sushi Shiro. If you order 3 or more rolls, you receive 50% off each roll. We got $ 29.25 off our entire order. It was meant to be. Loved the sushi, they were very nice, and it’s cheaper. Can’t beat that! Rolls we tried: Mexican Roll, Soft Shell crab roll, Jalapeño Crab cut roll, and rainbow roll. We will be back for more very soon. Thank you!

Sorry Shiro Boys, but your service is horrible. Especially the chunkier guy behind the bar who is an egomaniac and REFUSES to speak to the paying customer. The reason people want to sit at a sushi bar is to speak to the sushi chefs and enjoy the dining experience. The chefs are more concerned about making a profit than the dining experience, which is sorry in this day and age of a sushi bar on every corner. Be warned, food is decent at best but don’t expect to be wowed by the service or treatment of their patrons. If that is OK with you, go for it but if you want to be treated like a human being keep driving down Foothill to the next fresh fish joint…

The shrimp tempura is always hot and fresh. If you order at least three rolls, all sushi rolls are half price. the tiger roll is my favorite. They can use a little more variety on their sushi menu.

I honestly get sushi here about 3 times a week. As soon as I walk in they know my order. The sushi is ALWAYS good quality. The other places I used to frequent always had different quality. Some days it would be great other days not so fresh. But here it’s always on point. They are really friendly and pay attention l. They have never screwed up my order. They offer half off every day of the week so for people who don’t need all you can eat it’s perfect. I get two rolls and an order of salmon sushi and it’s only like 15 dollars. Love it!

This place is a joke. We walk in. Two people for sushi bar. The bar has no one there. We were not allowed to sit there. We had to sign in and wait. And wait. And wait. Fish didn’t look good either.

I use to frequent this place for many years, I was never a fan of all you can eat but they did a nice job keeping decent quality in an all u can eat atmosphere. Then they switched it to 50% off the bill, still decent quality for the most part. Then recently something changed, the owners attitude, and that’s when it hit the fan. Quality, service and atmosphere hit the wall. Not gonna get into the reasons but the food has gone downhill fast. My suggestion, fix your attitude buddy, I’m gone and many others are following.

I used to come her with my bestfriend like every 2 weeks. We always order popcorn shrimp, fried jalapeños, and baked salmon roll. We havent gone for awhile which is pretty sad. Life just been busy. The service is great… kinda hard to catch someone’s attention right away but they are pretty fast with serving their food.

They no longer have a B Rating. Everyone should go back because they fixed their mistakes. Went there for mothers day and it was amazing like always. I really missed it!

Came here on a Sunday around 645. Maybe 1⁄3 capacity. To get our orders in took forever. Their selections are generic with no twist to existing rolls… subpar. My bake lobster roll was Luke warm and had very little taste. A fast food sushi could’ve done better than this place. Highly disappointed because we’ve never been to a 4 star that had OK food… and it was also recommended. never again

I love the sushi here! It is the best! Ming is an amazing server and always makes sure our needs are met by referring menu items we might like or by specializing an item to the way we want it. We are never waiting a long time for the food after we order. Sometimes there is a wait to get a seat but what good place doesn’t?!

I come here at least once a month for the sushi roll deal. If you order 3 or more rolls, they’re 50% off each! That ends up being less than $ 25 for 3 – 5 rolls for 2 people. And the rolls are amazing. The tuna is always delicious, and there are so many different types of rolls. I’ve never tried their baked rolls since I’m not a fan of those, but I’m sure if you like them, you’ll like theirs. Sometimes the water tastes funny, so I get it with lemon. Also, if there’s a game you want to watch and it isn’t on one of their TVs, they’ll change it if you ask them. The waiters there are always really nice. Sometimes they’re so busy helping everyone, they forget that they left the trash cart behind you(that’s probably my only complaint so far). This place is really busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so I always go on week nights!

I don’t have any problem waiting for quality food and this place had many signs stating that they are not fast food, but quality food. Okay, I think as we sit down for dinner at 7:30PM, this might take a while. But surprisingly the meal did come quickly, however the quality never seemed to show up. The Food. Sushi(Nigiri) was just average. Not bad, but not particularly good either. Same grade and quality as delivery sushi. Rolls(Makizushi) better than average. Nothing really blowing up my skirt here, but not bad. Gyoza. Yuck. Did they go to the dollar store and buy a bag of frozen dumplings. Avoid this app. Seaweed Salad. Meh. The Atmosphere. A typical case of too many restaurants having lived under this roof. A hodgepodge of styles. Bright and big windows, completely open floor plan, and big screen T.V.s on the walls. Random plants desperately trying to separate seating and a color scheme that appears to be chosen by the owners shopping the bargain paints rack at home depot. They have used a sharpie to correct and edit the menu. I know re printing menus can be expensive, but the lack of care seems more costly to me. The Staff. We were seated promptly and served drinks right away. The server checked on us and brought us a dish of wasabi and ginger after we asked(Why is this not already on the side of the nigiri?). The owner and her son were visiting with a table next to us. The boy was excited about the basketball game on TV and mimed jump shots for 10 minutes just a foot away from our table. Owners please understand that If I am having a nice meal with my wife spending over $ 100 at your restaurant, please respect my experience(okyaku-sama wa kami-sama desu). Overall. With so many sushi options in this area, Sushi Shiro really needs to step up their game in order to survive. I would be surprised if this location is still open in a couple of years.

Sushi and service is awesome, especially for takeout. They have never let me down ! If you order 3 or more rolls it’s half off each roll can’t go wrong with that !

Waitied 10 minutes after sitting down with no service and the waiter walking past our tables multiple times. No all you can eat and overpriced as well. After almost 15 minutes got up and left

This place is no longer AYCE. If you buy 3 or more rolls then you get 50% off your rolls. The rolls are overpriced. The quality of the sushi wasn’t that great and there was a super long wait to be seated. My salmon roll was salty and other fishes tasted bland or way too fishy tasting. The service was decent.

Thought I’d update my review while I’m anxiously waiting for my boyfriend to bring home takeout. YES takeout! It’s just as good and fresh. I’ve never had them give me poor sushi quality or the wrong order for takeout. My review was a year ago, and I gotta say I still love this place. We’re sushi fanatics and we have this probably once a week if not every other week. I love sushi in general and even going to fancy restaurants like tokyo table are disappointing compared to this. Btw, yes It’s a B rating, but I’ve NEVER gotten sick or seen anything gross and I’m a frequent customer.

My girly friend really likes this place, but I must admit I was a little hesitant especially with the«B» rating posted in the window. However, I live to tell that the sushi was delicious and no health problemos. Maybe the Japanese Martinis helped kill off any bad stuff? I don’t know, but I would definitely go back. I will raise the stars if they can get their«A» rating back, and if their service improves a tad. One of our servers, although very nice, was a bit hurried — she kept running off before we were finished talking with her. She also didn’t know what a Yuzu martini was when we asked(turns out it’s a Japanese citrus fruit). There might have been a language barrier. Nevertheless, Hot Dang! Those Martinis were excellent! We had Lychee and Yuzu. Lychee was very sweet and the Yuzu was tangy. My favorite was the Yuzu, but my friend said it had a medicinal taste to it. Ok, I’ll take that medicine any day! And of course, sushi was great. We shared three rolls – Shiro, Crunchy Dragon, and something else, oops! I can’t remember! Early onset dementia or the Martinis. ..
