Dr. Fabricant is hands down the very best eye surgeon. He did my ICL procedure 8 years ago and I still have nearly ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision. I already wrote one review for him on Unilocal but suffice to say I have ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision now, but before the procedure I was –11.75 in contacts. Thank you for such great results and so thankful for giving me superb vision.

The highly trained experts at the Pacific Eye Institute are there for all of us. Check with them for anything optical. They are an asset to the medical community. I got a floater in my eye and some flashes. So I got a referral to the Pacific Eye Institute. I spoke with Cecilia on the phone for an a appointment. So was very friendly and courteous. She helped me get an appointment as soon as possible. I really appreciate this because I was worried. I got to see Dr. Roscoe. He thoroughly checked both of my eyes out. Fortunately, he said everything looked good. I was so relieved. I really appreciated all of them. Thank you.

Dr Robert Fabricant was my cataract surgeon. My surgery outcome was excellent. Recovery was to the letter. This facility is exemplary; wait time, professionalism, courteousness from each and every personnel every time I had an appointment.
Now about the Doctor who did the surgery; Dr Fabricant. I just don’t have enough words to say ‘thank you’ to this Doctor. He restored my sight and I had no problems whatsoever in recovery and during surgery. My vision is now crisp and clear. My recovery was in 1 – 2 days!

I will be completely honest. I was referred to PEI from the Optometrist. My first thought: it’s a cattle call and it’s frickin freezing! The Tech who checked my eyes was amazing. The doctor then burst in the room and didnt bother to introduce himself. He started more tests and afterwards I was floored. I asked him «So can it be fixed?» His reply was «It depends.» He said it was nice meeting me and he walked out. He did the EXACT thing my optometrist had done. The bill was $ 292.00 My second visit I was there for 2 hours and received a diagnosis after many pictures of my eyes. That bill was $ 1383.00. I found out that they were not in my insurance network. The charges are all my responsibility. They ran my insurance when I first made the appt. You would think they would have informed me. Greed… I now have to start over somewhere else. My advice is — check around before you go here. If you do decide to go… Know that they will run up a big bill giving you tons of tests. Very expensive tests.

It is like a miracle ! I did «cataract» surgery for both eyes and my Doctor was «Mila J. Heersink».
She was Great. Great in every respect: Charming, Kind, Friendly, Compasionate, in brief, all the wonderful characters you might want to find in a doctor. And best of all she was so proffessional and so good duringh and after both surgeries for which I am so grateful and thankful as long as I live. I am 73 years and she helped me restore one of GOD’s greatest gifts: Clear Sight/​Vision.
Thank you Dr Heersink, you are wonderful and you are always in my prayers and hope that all doctors are as great as you and follow your example in excellence and proffessionalism.

This is ultimately the worst Healthcare facility I have been to. Quality of care is laughable and no one ever calls you back. If you have an appointment, please expect an hour and a half wait time.
My mom was seen here for cataract surgery and the doctor admitted to us that he made a mistake in not manually measuring my mom’s lens, therefore, she ended up with a replacement lens that wasn’t the right size. Now, they’re saying that she needs another surgery to correct their error. We have contacted the board and are seeking legal advice for medical malpractice…
One more thing, Dr. Fabricant needs to retire. He never has the time or patience to explain anything to his patients. He rushes from one examination room to the next and makes you feel stupid for even asking a question!
If you have options, please skip this place and find another medical office.

Worst run office I have ever seen minimum wait time 2 hours. Last visit my wait time was 4 hours!

Dr. Fabricant rocks! I also have to give a shout out to the lady Annette Gerhardt who handled all my insurance approvals before surgery. Super super nice and helpful. She has helped my elderly parents and their surgeries as well, and they love her. My 89 year old dad has been going to Fabricant since he was in his 50’s. He has glaucoma. This doctor is the reason my father doesn’t even need glasses, and his vision has never been impaired unlike his mother who was totally blind. He has done 2 laser surgeries for him, and he is on drops daily. He also has done cataract surgeries for both my parents. I wouldn’t trust my eyes to anyone else!

They don’t need to try and see everyone in one day. I first got called back after about 45min of waiting and the attendant did a few exams and dilated my eyes then asked that I wait in the front while a room opens, I have now been waiting close to an hr and have not been called back. They close at 5pm and still have tons of patients waiting. They are friendly but this is just a ridiculous amount of waiting, their friendliness does not outweigh the wait time-​sorry. They really need to hire a consultant to evaluate their processes and assist them with establishing a better system and better way of informing the patients how long they will have to wait if they are having their eyes dilated. Over 2.5hrs just for a yearly diabetic eye exam is too much in my book.

How disappointing. I used to love this place but it seems they’ve changed their booking practices. Finally seeing the doctor 90 minutes after my appointment time.

There is a lack of professionalism when it comes to booking appointments. I would also train some of the people who answer the doctor’s phones because it is ridiculous that I am being sassed at. I just called to obtain the time for my grandfather’s appointment, since no one bothered to call him.

This is a very poorly managed clinic. Total chaos. After 3 hours of waiting I found out that the staff have forgotten about me. After about 4 hours, a Dr. Flemming with very poor manner checked my eyes for about 30 second. I left quite upset. I currently have a new ophthalmologist and am very happy with him.
I encourage everyone to avoid pacific eye institute if you don’t want to have a similar experience

Having to come here hasn’t ever really been pleasant! I am the driver for my mom as she is having her eyes checked– this is the 2^nd time coming and the 2^nd time not having a place to sit. It seems that they over book. There is never a place to park either! So if you have to come here– make sure you allow time to park and don’t have any other plans for a few hours of your appt. one last thing– the first time we came we waited almost an hour AFTER her appointment time to be seen… This time is goin on the same … Someone needs to correct something here!!!

I can’t say enough about the wonderful doctors at Pacific Eye Institute! Dr. Fabricant is an amazingly gifted surgeon. I can see again!!! Yes sometimes there is a bit of a wait but all the best things in life are worth waiting for.

I wouldn’t recommend this place since they overbook their appointments. The lobby is always crowded no matter what time of day you go.
I have had to come here 3 times now. The first time was for a routine check-​up and it took them TWO HOURS from my appointment time until they finished. They saw me for 5 – 10 mins!!!
The second visit was about 60 mins which wasn’t terrible… considering the last visit. And I had a cauterization of my tear duct, minor out patient procedure.
This last visit was a check-​up from that procedure. I had an appointment at 3:00pm and finally left there at 4:50pm. ONE HOUR AND FIFTY MINUTES to see me for 5 minutes!!! I just don’t understand it.
Needless-​to-​say I won’t be back!

this place is just chaos its like an ant farm. Never can get a clear diagonis on my eyeballs to say the least the waiting area just grosses me out of how dirty it is and frumpy. There is a character that looks, like the muppet baby Grover at the checkout desk that has a dam attitude problem and can’t even explain herself to patients when it comes to booking appointments at the” check out desk” to top it off her left-​hand penmanship is just atrocious. Well don’t be mad at patients if its just a high school diploma you earned in your miserable life not my fault.

A small update: it’s been about three months since I had cataract surgery for my second eye. I just want to express my sincere and deepest gratitude to everyone at the Pacific Eye Institute for their all their help, patience and expertise. To Dr. Fabricant, I say this: more than once during this whole process I felt so grateful that I just wanted to spontaneously hug you, but as I recognized that would have been really awkward and probably wildly inappropriate, I will just say once again, *thank you* from the bottom of my heart for restoring my eyesight. I feel so lucky, so privileged and so blessed!

The first time I went to see Dr Novack it took over 4 hours, but I was told that there was an emergency situation. I thought it was just an unusual situation.
This week I went for a yearly exam, my appointment was for 2:45 I didn’t see the Doctor until almost 6:00. While in the waiting room I noticed several elderly people waiting, it’s difficult for anyone to wait that long especially the elderly.
doctor Novack may be a skilled doctor, but the lack of respect for his patients is remarkable, greed of course is the problem. I’m sure there is another Doctor that is just as qualified. I won’t be going back.

I’ve been here countless times in the past few years. The first few times were with Dr. Dovich (really nice/​professional) for chronic dry eye and corneal ulcer. The second doctor, Dr. King, was okay. She doesn’t connect with her patients as well, but it’s probably because they always have a lot of patients to get through. Dr. Flemings was just like Dr. Dovich, just not as animated. They will take the time to answer your questions. The staff is really nice. Cleanliness is good. Waiting period CAN take up to an hour, but they’re specialists and good at what they do, so bring a book or something.
