if I could give a negative I would, mike was rude and didn’t want to give me the address said he would need to run my credit first before giving me the address and scheduling the walk through, ugh N O MIKE NOT AT ALL GOOD HONEST BUSINESS. DONT DO IT PEOPLE HES A RIP OFF!

I agree with every one star review on this Unilocal account. Mike just scams vulnerable people by putting up cheap rentals with pixelated fake photos and refused to show them. Don’t be scammed out of your hard earned money by this con.

I’m looking to rent a place, and saw ‘Mike’s’ name come up on several listings. No agency name, no website, just a phone number.
I called and left a message, and he called back. I asked if the property was still available, and he told me it was. I asked if I could schedule an appointment to come by and see the property — the address was not listed on the craigslist ad. (After searching through more of Mike’s posts, I saw that this was common — only listing the map view, and not the address).
Mike told me that I would have to come by and drop off an application first, which I thought was strange. I’ve rented for years, and I have never had a company that wanted a tenant to apply for a property they haven’t seen even DRIVEN BY, let alone seen the inside of. He then informed me I would have to pay $ 35 for the credit check before I could even see the property.
I asked him why I would want to apply for a property I hadn’t even seen yet, which I might not even like, to which he said «Well, there’s no point in you even going to look at it if you can’t qualify».
The idea of not being allowed to see a place until I’ve paid is preposterous.
Put simply, this company wants you to pay to see their listings. They don’t put addresses on their ads, and force you to pay before letting you see any property you might be interested in.
Avoid at all costs. Real property management companies would much rather have you drive by the property and view the inside before even investing time in running your application.

Mike is awesome over the phone. My husband and I walked into his office.
Some shady, pot belly, somewhat toothless man approached us, the hair on the back of my neck stood up! He then asked us if we would like our credit checked while we wait for Mike, Mike walks in, oh my, just as bad as the other guy. Told Mike, goodbye!

I don’t understand what people are complaining about? I don’t have great credit but I also don’t have bad credit. This is a no brainer. I pay a one time credit check for $ 35 and I am allowed to not only get a copy of my credit, but I can apply to multiple properties without hurting my credit score. I was worried about this company at first because of the bad reviews, but this company has been around for over 9 yrs and are licensed through a brokers license. If they were a scam, I’m sure they wouldn’t be around anymore. When I was in the office, I did hear a person complaining about not getting a place, but I did overhear that he had a pit bull and a lot of home owners don’t like to accept them because of insurance purposes. Which I totally understand. I heard mike tell him that the landlord will take him but not the dog, but the guy said he wouldn’t give up the dog. I will never understand how people would rather be homeless than to get rid of their animals.
Before coming here, I went to another company that wanted to charge me over $ 135 for the same service, and they didn’t have a license. When I investigated that company, I found out that they are a listing agency and not a broker like inland asset. They were also very negative about inland asset management which I don’t like. I think if a company is good, they don’t need to put others down. Not professional.
I’m happy to say that going through inland asset management was something any smart person would do. Yes, I didn’t get chosen on a couple properties, but I’ve been beat by others with more money and better credit before. I must have looked at about 7 houses and was accepted on 2. I’m happy. When I move again, I will definitely use them again.

Can I give zero stars, please? Because this place doesn’t even deserve ONE. Mike took my money for a credit check back in December when I was looking and said that I just happened to have the same score as the person that had an appointment with him before me… uh, no. He wouldn’t even let me see the report! I ran my own credit for free and my score was higher than the one he said he ran. I only ever received one call back from him on a property I was interested in and it was because he thought I was a new «customer.» When he realized that he’d already gotten my money, he rushed me off the phone and said one of his associates would be reaching out to me about the property… I never heard back from anyone.
This place is a joke. Please don’t waste your time. This happened to me back in December when I was in a very vulnerable state of mind. Now I live in Las Vegas and couldn’t be happier, but this place and their scam still irk me.

I contacted Mike at the end of May regarding properties listed on Craigslist. I explained to him that I was relocating from Florida and needed to move to California by June 15^th. I also let him know that I had a family member who would view the property on my behalf. Mike seemed very helpful and eager to make me feel comfortable about the whole process. He was nice on the phone and seemingly honest, that was until after I paid the $ 35 each for the credit check for my wife and me. The next day I got an email from Mike with 12 available properties in my price range with links to images. I replied to him telling him which 3 properties I was interested in and the communications stopped. No phone calls, no replies to my messages, no replies to my emails. I can’t recommend anyone looking to rent in California ever deal with Inland Management. Seems to me they just collect the $ 35/​person and do nothing to help you move in to any of these properties. Avoid these scams.

Do NOT go here, this place IS a scam. Prior to him showing you anything that he is claiming to be available you pay for a mandatory credit check that you are refused a copy of. Mike just steals listings from other people and rips you off for your money.

Mike is a very nice guy on the phone and in person. But like the previous reviewer stated, this place is somewhat shady. They didn’t do a full credit check on me, but they charged me $ 35 to see a list of homes available. After visiting 3 places in neighboring Ontario, I found them to be DUMPS. Okay, the last house might be worse. Supposedly built in 1910, the house had that tacky looking new stucco finish, weeds almost as tall as I am in the front yard (and I’m over 6 feet tall), and no large garage like the listing advertised. In fact, the houses did match the photos somewhat, but nowhere near matched the description. This place is definitely a legal scam, and buyer beware!

I was looking for houses in Ontario to rent for my aunt, who’s relocating from LA to the area. I saw three Ontario listings on Craigslist from this company that fit into my aunt’s profile so I called. Because of my aunt’s tight schedule and special arrangement for transportation, she can only come this Sunday to look at houses. When I called the day before, I explained our situation to Mike on the phone. Mike told me they don’t show properties until they’ve checked the customers’ credits and verified their income. It costs $ 35 per person for the credit check, which is fine.
On the phone, I had specifically asked Mike that if he’ll be able to show us those three houses the same day once he’s checked and verified her credit and income. I told him specifically because of my aunt’s situation, we will need him to open the houses the same day after the credit check. He did tell me yes, and he said his office is open from 12 to 4 on Sunday and it’s «first-​come first-​serve basis».
So on Sunday we walked into their office with my aunt and my uncle at 12:10, we were the first ones there. Mike gave us the application, we paid $ 70 for the credit check, and we showed him the bank statements. After waiting in the lobby for more than half an hour, he came back only to tell us that their credits are good. He gave us some print-​outs from MLS and a business card for one of his agents, who will supposedly call us the NEXT DAY to schedule appointment for showing houses.
I told him that we’re here specifically to see the three houses he had on Craigslist and I was told that he’ll be able to open the houses for us once he checked the credits. He totally denied it and told us that we can drive by those houses, and then the agent will call us. That is absolutely ridiculous because my husband is a real estate agent, and all the properties Mike printed out for us are already on the list that we’re planning to visit. We just needed someone to open the houses! After I reminded him our conversation on the phone, he then said if it’s a Monday or Tuesday MAYBE they could show the houses the same day, but it’s not gonna happen on a Sunday. I finally realized he intentionally misled me on the phone so we prospects could walk into his office like fish swim into the net. That basically made our visit a complete waste of the precious and limited time my aunt had.
Then we asked that if we can at least get a copy of the credit reports. He at first said no… he couldn’t give it to us. And he said we’re misinformed if we think he has to give the reports to us (that we paid $ 70 for). Then after my husband kept digging, he said he’ll only give them to us when we decided to terminate the «relationship with their agent» because they don’t get compensated if their agent drives around showing houses to us but we go rent somewhere else with the credit reports… that we paid for! In the end he said we could just take it right now if we’d like, but that means no agent is going to help us. We of course gladly took the option. On top of misleading phone call and changing stories, what made the whole thing so much worse is his attitude. We asked questions politely and professionally, but he was totally being rude while answering our questions. I’ve worked with different real estate offices before but this is absolutely the worst place. Be careful!!!
